UPDATE: Play.com shipping on Monday

We have received word from Play that they will be shipping the game on Monday to those gamers who pre-ordered early enough… meaning you should have the game hopefully by Wednesday. Anyone who orders now can still expect the game before Friday, as they will be attempting to get all orders to customers by Thursday. They are shipping the game an extra 2 days early than normal to account for the Royal Mail strikes over the past few weeks, but generally speaking the backlogs have now been cleared so you should expect it a lot sooner than Friday if ordering with Play.

When i saw that play.com had it in stock yesterday i immediatley pre-ordered it but when i check my account it says:
“Youre account has been declined” says this at the top but below it, it says
“Status - Order PLaced”
What does this mean??

i know play.com usually ship goods earlier the firther you live away,for example if you live in scotland they post early so you receive same time as people further south.i hope i get my copy weds though.i pre ordered my copy in april so hopefully im one of the earliest guys to have placed a pre order.cant fucking wait guys……..

I have it!!! I live in Amsterdam ad pre-ordered the game a few weeks ago with Bart Smit. They called me yesterday and said they had a copy for me to pick up. In the mad scramble that ensued, I picked it up, dashed home and have been on it since (must remeber to eat adn slepp t some poibt)

the same thing happened last year, basically they have sold all their first batch of copies!

The thing about Play.com is a lie they can’t do it, have you ever heard of a little thing called the trades discription act? Well on their website it clearly states dispatched within 24 hours. Dont listen to these jokers people.
i have already canc with play the last thing i need is not receiving it on friday. To be honest i think it was a very good marketing ploy from play, tell you it is in stock (which it probably is) get more orders ahead of everyone else then ship them out whenever.

I’ve pre-ordered mine from HMV but they still say not yet in stock, should I cancel it and go with play? I’ve always found HMV to be better in general.
Well, I tried again cause I don’t want to mislead anyone, the guy said we’d (me and everyone else waiting for it) definately recieve it by friday or possibly a day before, but they said nothing other than that.
So people who have ordered of play.com will expect 2 recieve it friday morning or possibley saturday:(

At the moment I’ve got a pre-order with HMV and Play, just see who dispatches 1st and cancel the other.

Are you suggesting that PLAY is lying when they claim the game is in stock (PC version also)? I don’t think so.
#52: Of course you’ll get different answers when you phone their support - support people usually don’t know of anything in detail. They know general stuff, though. If you want to go be disappointed with PLAY, then take your business elsewhere. But don’t expect the service/delivery to be any different.

OMG you guys need to stop frettin over when your gonna get the game early or not. When its realeased in the UK (26th October) ill be upto ASDA or wherever there selling it, first thing!. I can understand if you are desperate to play it (As am i). But waiting a few more days wont hurt anybody. In the meantime to ease the tension and excitment play PES6 with Pategato and Goalgerds Ultimate OF until the release of PES2008!…..

Hello, hopefully this maybe of some help to all you people who have ordered or pre-ordered PES 2008 with us - who are worried about there delivery date.
All orders have been sent today (Monday), no matter where you live. It is not in our hands now if your package arrives later than expected as it is with your mailing service you have, wherever you live that is. There have been Royal Mail strikes in the UK from what ive heard off. So be sure to find that it may not be delivered till later than expected.
(Latest delivery being Monday of next week and earliest delivery being Wednesday of this week.)

I cant do it any longer.. I CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER FOR THIS GAME!! Iv been thinking.. I know where the Play.com shipping warehouse is (just off the M4). If anyone wishes to join me I intend to head down there early tomorrow and slip one of the staff working a crisp 50 note to snaffle a PS3 copy for me. I can confirm to everyone that PES2008 has been dispatched today (Monday), wherever you may live. However i have no idea why you havent had a dispatched email confirmation “anon”.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?, if so ill forward this problem to my Help desk, here at Play. If it is succesfull, all of you that ordered or pre-ordered with us. If you preordered the game and simply can’t wait to get your hands on it you’d be wise to make a tiny change in your /etc/hosts (or Windows\System32\hosts) and point pesgaming.com to some other ip; e.g. 74.208.41.88 (for Jack Thompson’s site).

Hey guys. Just a warning about mail at moment. I ordered something with amazon and got this email:
URGENT : WE HAVE DISPATCHED. However, due to the recent 2-3 Weeks of
Postal Strikes you may experience delays with delivery.
Just saying don’t get your hopes up. I ordered pes2008 on shopto and its a tenner cheaper, not bothered when it comes as got a whole year to play it. For me id rather get it cheap for the sake of a couple of days waiting. Thats the way im looking at it. But if your not a cheapskate like me and really care about getting it on release date might be better to just wait and get it from asda like some others have said. It could come early but you just don’t know.
Dont worry about the post i ordered a game off amazon the other day and recieved it within 2 days. I live in the south east
hey guys just thought i’d add that my friend ordered from play.com months ago and his was dispatched friday. so i think it may just be later orders that arent gonna turn up for a while.
boys the post strikes are all finished with back logs no longer, the only place where there is still problems is liverpool.

The release date is Friday. What makes Pro different to any other game on releases? Shops have to follow the same rules. Stop bitching and wait.
i cancelled mine thru play as i ordered mine recently and it aint likely to come this week..gettin it from my local game shop for 40quid..play dispatched on friday with real early orders, dnt mean its gonna get there any earlier than friday tho

Anyone gonna give pro 6 one last spin before the revolution that is evolution? Im gonna just play pro 6 until i hear the sweet sound of a package arriving at my door! (better be the right package not some nonsense!) First time using shopto, the price is right, getting it 2 days before release day seems too good to be true. I guess time will tell. I will say one thing. If shopto do deliver by wed or thurs and it is £30 then my lord will i be impressed. I wont look past any other website when ordering my ps3 stuff.

they don’t have a clue yet because none have been sent out, orders take 3-5 days so legally they cannot dispatch till tommorrow 4 fridays release(3days min) so thats why the staff are estimating
why does it say despatched within 24 hours then? isnt that a tad bit illegal?
play.com was just letting everyone know they have it in stock and when items are in stock i comes up with the 24 hours message, but yes it is quite misleading which is why i’m giving them till tomorrow minimum to dispatch. but totally agree that it shouldn’t say 24hours
just canceled it from play.even if they despatched it tmoz u probs not gunna get it till friday when the post comes.which at r house the post comes about 11am lol.so guna get it from asda its £36.00(ps3) on website might change tho
its not misleading or illegal. If you read what it says, it says ‘usually dispatched within 24 hours’. ‘Usually’ is an important word in the sentence. They usually do dispatch goods within 24 hours….just not this time

I cancelled at Play and ordered it from amazon instead because I trust them more, although I don’t care when it comes if it is going to come after Wednesday i will be away until Sunday, the game will come before then, then I will try and get an hour in before I have to go back to school on Monday

I’ve ordered it yesterday and it’s now being processed, so for all the people saying it’ll be coming late, you’re very wrong. It’ll be here by Friday without a doubt. Most stores and places nearly always receive the games two days before it’s realese date. I’d say that whoever ordered from Play will receive it on Thursday and certainly no later than Friday.
