Gamespot final hands-on

Gamespot have one last hands-on report of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 before they review the game later in the week.

Player likenesses are almost spot on, displaying some convincing facial animations throughout. The stadiums and pitches themselves are now also looking nicely detailed, with plenty of advertising boards and team-specific crowd signs adorning the stadiums. Pro Evo 2008 is still lacking some of those extra touches that its main competitor FIFA 08 has (such as player sweat as matches progress), but it’s certainly the best-looking Pro Evo so far. That said, actual player animations in Pro Evo are–as usual–top-notch. Players run, shoot, pass, change direction, fall, and even bump into other players in a way which is quite convincing to watch.

I played the Fifa 08 demo on ps3 today again. Can’t say I’m too overly impressed. Its not even as good as the Wii version (which i own).
Why is it that the players are sooooo small compared to the pitch that its impossible to see what they’re actually doing!?! Even changing the camera angles doesn’t help.

All I say is bring on Friday when THE proper football game comes out!

  9. mn9ajas Says:

Ordered it from Shopto. I just hope I get it for Friday!

Folks, I have been playing PES 2008 on PS3 for 2 days solid now. I must say I’m extremely happy to have it in my possession b ut I thoguht the game would have been more convincing in the graphics department. Mind you, it’s sill great but after all the hype I thought it’d be better, for want of a better word, but I will be buying a new 37″ HDTV to compliment the game, this week.

However, both grphics and game play have inproved ever so slightly som please exucse me while I drag myself off to have yet another game…

    ;-)
