PES 2008 tops gaming charts

We all knew it would happen, but Pro-G has announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 has topped the gaming charts.

Following No.1 titles FIFA 08 and Football Manager 2008 comes PES 2008, Konami’s latest entry in the highly praised Pro Evolution Soccer series. The slight change in name doesn’t appear to have done the game any harm, with sales almost matching those of PES 6’s debut week.

What is different this time around is the split in sales over the release platforms. PES 6 first week sales were PS2 heavy - the system accounting for 73% of sales with the Xbox 360 and PC left to squabble over what was left. This year, sales are much more evenly distributed: PS2 sales account for 42%, Xbox 360 30%, with the PS3 and PC sharing the final 28%.

Stats are currently unavailable, however, as to how many games have been retutrned for a refund.

Geez!! guys, I don’t care what everyone says, this latest pro on the ps3 is absolutely fantastic…Keep it up Konami!

  5. bal Says:

nah i wouldnt say the new pro is fantastic on the ps3. if the lag time was sorted out n also the online mode as tht at moment is terrible. but it is a good game so ppl should stop bitchin about the game..the gameplay is still very good n this game is betta than fifa so the pes fans who comtinue to complain should either go n buy fifa or jus dnt buy a football game!

I don’t know how many people know this but you can fix the offline lag problems by installing the game. Go to settings and then install game from the main menu…it works amazing!

Well I cant believe this game has even managed to be released,no other games i have bought has had any major online issues, what happened to the microsoft tests like what seems to be holding up sensible soccer, if microsoft had tested this before release they would have laughed there boll**ks of. everyone else doesnt seem to have to many online issues when producing a game so why does this game act more like pinball than soccer when online, thats if you can get a game at all KONAMI have finallly lost the crown.

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END

  8. Barra84 Says:

Yeah the game play is good offline but how can the game survive without online i played pes 6 from release till now but i can see 08 going to the bin unless they fix this soon. Nothing worse than taking a corner then the screen flickers and the other guy is up ur end scoring or even scoring then u get given a corner instead of a goal. WELL DONE KONAMI another gr8 rush job short changing all your loyal fans
