PS3 Lag - a follow up

Guys, I have had around 30 emails and numerous comments on the blog calling me an idiot blah blah for saying buying a HDTV will fix your lag issues. Please, I urge you to re-read yesterdays article (below this) again - but this time turn on your sarcasm radars.
I am 100% aware that a HDTV with all the correct components does not fully fix the lag issues. My post yesterday was pretty much mocking Konami for their stupidity… but clear it was missed on some of you.
i think it is fair to say that most of us knew that i certainly was not having a pop at you, you are more than helpful, it was purly having a go at those twats at konami they are the real bellends!!! seabass i will eat you with my sushi for thew shit you have produced….

Very true CAVENAGHI, very true! The only problem I’ve honestly had with offline play is slight glitching in games but it doesn’t effect the gameplay on mine. Online play is just terrible and really relies on players having a good connection. Sort it out Konami!
Peter, i was not having a go at you but these idiots that have made this game a farce. Can someone please update on when the PS3 patch is going to be coming through. If anyone has influence with the guys at Konami, please get some idea what the hell is going on.

maybe it isnt just pes 2008 with slow down, on motorstorm when theres more than like 7 cars on the screen it slows down massively, and obviously when the ps3 is processing stuff on pes2008 maybe its just not quick enough, better just wait for gran turismo hd and gta, and pes 2009!!! ha

I take back what I said about mine not having lag problems offline on PS3. I’ve just played some mates (6 of us) at my house and lag is terrible. It seems it cannot cope too well with having more than one human player on a team. Again, sort it out Konami. Hope they don’t piss up MGS4 aswell.

Hi, has there actually been a solution published on how to stop the lag then. What abt the xbox 360 version. Will the purchase of a hdtv fix it? Does anyone know if they are planning to put an update on xbox live to fix the lag problem?

The lag is not sorted out at all on a HDTV as everyone is aware. However on the PS3 once you download the new 2.0 ps3 software from Sony the problems are greatly reduced.
I was very suprised to see a change, that although is still not perfect, is a lot lot better. The replays are now actually watchable :-)

All i can say is it was true for me. I downloaded the update last night (sunday) and then loaded up a quick game. There was a difinate difference, especially with the replays and what makes me more convinced is that Iwas not even looking for a difference cause i thought a general ps3 update would have no effect on specific games.

the update does fuck all to my PES. i nearly smashed my tv through with my face after conceding a crappy equalizer offline in master league. the lag is still there and going strong. if anything id say its a bit worse!
COD4 is better than resistance online. its better offline too. Resistance is great but COD4 is awesome
the lag is not bad at all, ok online it jumps once or twice a game. i dont have a hdtv neither!
I downloaded the PS3 update this morning and it has improved the replays and a bit of the gameplay. The ball no longer ‘glides’ across the screen in play and the replays are definitely smoother.
I am playing the game on a HDTV with HDMI and using the default ‘long’ camera mode as opposed to wide and the game has minimal lag, slowdown or glitches at all.
so it really works yeah!

Hey Super-pes I’m just telling you what has happened. If you don’t believe me or the other guy thats fine but I guarantee you that it has improved the replays definitely.
Like I said though, I play the game in the default camera mode whereas others play in the ‘professionals choice’ of wide angle. I admit when I originally tried it in that angle it did slowdown a lot but I’ve not tried again since downloading the update as I don’t like that camera position!
sorry i was not douting u is just i keep hearing the same thing on how thing can change on this fustrating game!

No worries Super-pes. Hopefully Konami will get a decent patch out by Monday (their deadline) that will sort out these issues for everyone.
