PS2 Gameplay of PES 2008 - Prepare for disappointment

I’m not going to lie to you folks. If you plan on playing PES 2008 on the PS2 I think you’re going to be fairly disappointment. Judging by this gameplay video posted up by the guys at WENB from the Leipzig convention, it seems clear that Konami have not spent much time upgrading the PS2 version of the game.
Other than the new passing animation… I honestly can’t see anything new here. The PS2 still get’s the nice new menus but to me the graphics look identical to PES6. Likewise, our man out in Leipzig indicated to us that the gameplay has barely been touched. Make your own mind up by viewing the video below:
To be honest i dont know why they are making such a big fuss over the quality of the game on the ps2. The game is improving with the times and adapting itself with the new advances in technology (like the 360 and ps3). The argument was made over the fact that the ps2 version of pes 2008 had identical gameplay to the previous. Well i say lets keep it that way. Lets leave the new era of pes gaming to be played on the new era of gaming consoles. Playstation 2 was the revolution of pro-evo onced it mad the jump from the ps1, and its this game (with this gameplay) we have grown to love and which many pes gamers respect. Lets leave the game the way it is. Konami has made the correct decision in not devoting more time and effort in making 2008 on ps2 a different game. ISN’T THAT WHAT WE ALL WANTED?
Playstation 3 and X-box 360 are Konami’s concerns now, the new era of gaming, and they should be our main concern aswell. If there are some of you who are not happy with the changing of the times then i see why you cant still be contempt in playing same old ps2.
i totally agree with u m8t. there’s no point in making the game like the new gen. i play on PC n i don’t care whether its re done or not redone, all i no is the gameplay is good. i don’t care about any menus, presentations, cuz i don’t need them, its the game that i’m playing no watching presentation crap. new gen. all the way.
still looks awesome to me, i prefer good gameplay before new graphics, besides i dont think that the ps2 can do much better.

It’s just PES6 with blue bits instead of orange bits, but if the 360 version plays the same way as the 360 version of PES6 did last year then i can’t do what i did last year and get the PC version because it gonna be poo as well!

pes series is good at its gameplay
i loved pes6 on ze ps2 and still love it till now irrespective of ze hype of ze almighty pes2008 thats about to be unleashed onto ze path of ze righteous pro evo fans. To me its a religion and well respected by me and my crew of gamers. But really and truly u cant expect the same gameplay from ze old ps2 to be the same as ze ps3 as there wont be no point introducing ze ps3 into ze gaming world. konami, keep doing wot u doing and we shall continue to respect and love our precious,most realistic & respected football game ever made.

i am disappointed that u can’t dive on the ps2 version, one feature that i was lookin forward to doin, don’t see y they couldn’t put it on it , luckly my friend has a xbox 360 so i can dive on tht lol

Sorry but I hate PES 2008 on ps2, I have bought every PES game ever going and loved them all. Now this year was major disappointing, every one seems to think the gameplay is the same as before, I disagree. PES used to be a great game if enjoyed playing passing stylish football, to me PES 2008 is a scrap fest, can’t string passes and can’t get the flowing football going, to me this game has gone backwards and if the next game is the same, then I’m sorry, I;ll jum ship to Fifa ……… Konami, sort it out !!!!

you suckers. ahxhahxa have you ever played the ps2 version. the most fully fiutured version of the game.
go to gamespot.com and read the comments. it crashes the xbox and ps3 versions.
