PES 2008 Online - 1 vs. 1

Very disappointing news for fans of multi-player action online, as Pro Evolution Soccer is taking a step-backward by once again only allowing 1 vs. 1 play. After the promising progress of 2 vs. 2 in PES6, many fans had hoped this would be increased further… especially with the news from EA of up to 10 players online in the same game. This becomes yet another thing which Konami MUST get right next year!
I only hope that the reason for the lack of multi-play online is that they have been working hard at reducing the lag for 1 vs. 1 games.

Just because Ea’s going to have 10v10 doesn’t mean its going to be the best thing since sliced bread, EA has failed a lot. Ea is just following the same step of Konami. I know some people have had great 2v2 games but me personally , I been in a lot of laggy game and cheap goals. And to them having so few official team, EA has them, and most likely have the teams sign contracts that they CANT allow any other company (Konami) also licenses them.

This version of pes wil probably sell a lot less then Konami would have thought meaning they will put more effort in the next version

Peter, while I appreciate the effort you are putting into your blog posts (there has been some fantastic information) I cannot help think you are drumming a lot of negativity about the game.
Provide us with the facts, for now - until any of us have played the full game none of us can make a full judgmement.

I agree with Albert Steptoe. Playing against 1 lagging halfwit is better than playing against a handful of lagging halfwits. I base this on the Konami servers past history.
Great i hate 2v2 theres no point 2 it and having a lag free 1v1 game will make it fair for the ppl who ae good at the game.

PES is a great game, no doubt about it, and I’ll look forward to 2008, the same as I’ve looked forward to all new releases. As an aside, most of the people posting on here should spend a little less time playing games, and a little more time studying English.
Wow, the game doesn’t come out for near 2 months and the majority of people who are bad mouthing this game (on a PES forum for god’s sake!)havent even played the game. If u hate it soo much already then why even bother still being on this forum, so that in 2 months time u can say how brilliant it is? I personally cannot wait until its release and it will be the most exciting day of the year (if we ever find out the actual release date :S)

2v2 groups have been a massive part of PES6, which i participated in alot. I had been excited about how they would develop this feature and the “news” that there is only 1v1 is not only a big disappointment, but also pretty ridiculous
What kinda of backwards game for PS3 can only hold 1v1? Warhawk has 32 people online, massive map, no lag whatsover. FIFA will have 5v5. But PES cant apparently have 2v2?
And with the once again subtle improvements from last year, its looks nowhere near satisfying.
I will buy PES08, but for the 1st time in years i may buy fifa too

Good news, guys, we learned from the people at WENB that the 360, PS3 and PC versions WILL have 2 vs 2, but unfortunately the PS2 version won’t.

Hi Panz here, I think that Konami should suck my balls for not introducing a 2 v 2 option. For fucks sake FIFA’s goal is to have 11 vs 11 online, they are half way there. PES 2008 can suck my balls.

Ive been a fan since iss, and i have to say 2v2 made me luv this game even more. This will be the 1st release where i havnt gone out and brought it. New releases is about fixing bugs making gameplay better and gfx AND ADDING THINGS NOT TAKING THINGS OFF. They should of fixed the lag problems by now c’mon konami your letting fifa win this battle at the moment.

On the PS2 me n my mates used to play 4 vs 4 in the house it was a great laugh, i get the ps3 and we can only play 2 vs 2 in the house and 1 vs 1 online, Whats the crack there?, we were all looking fwd to a 4 of my mates at home playing 4 ppl on line.
Sort it konami, i couldnt switch over to fifa (its gash) but i was really disapointed.
