Still got some troubles with my connection, but I have managed to steal the neighbours wireless to get this post up!
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 has finally landed on XBox 360 live and you can download it right now. No word as yet on the PS3 or PC demo’s.

The game is freaking GREAT!!! I was a bit dissapointed at first with the graphics development, but the gameplay is class!!! Its finally possible to score from distance:-) Hammered a sick goal with Nani from great distance!

Henrik, I’m pretty sure the law tends to turn a blind eye to murder, when the victim happens to be a fan of ‘Friends’..reruns especially…why on earth would someone make the same mistake twice!? That coupled with PES interruption, i’ll do it for you for a coupla quid.

demos not bad but it lacks the edge of the old games

please can someone tell me if you can change the cam in the real game the demo view sucks and i cant even see an option blurred out worrying!
Just got the demo and i’m liking it after a few goes. The dive feature is fun (got 4 yellow cards in one game but also was given a penalty). Can’t wait for the full game.
got it graphics look good to me dont know what every 1 is complainin about,seems much easier to score but i still think there will be much more to come in the final game cos it just doesnt feel right but its still miles better than fifa 08..carlos tevez,ronaldo and riquelme are class,free kicks are easier to score..
HANDS-ON!! huge improvement to the game play compared to the previous xbox360 version. Just not having full control yet as I the xbox360 pad is not “USER FRIENDLY” type. For the comparison and to be honest FIFA 08 graphics looked slightly better. BUT of course, FIFA got no chances when it compared to the game play.
I just played one game so far as the guys are queuing to play next!!! Didn’t have chance to experience the full demo, err!!!

I played it and love the gameplay! Feels smooth, unlike pes6 on the xbox.
When I was given a penalty the game slowed down on me, I hope they fix that problem before the actual release, the slowdowns in the old version really sucked.
The game slows down a lot with my xbox?? With the fifa demo he doesn’t do this once. I always have been a pes fan but I’ve got to say.. Fifa is heading up (slightly). Gameplay isn’t as awfull anymore as it used to be. It’s also very difficult to create changes en score goals. On the behalve of PES I can be very clear. Some graphics look average, but some look real
fantastic,just look at robinho’s face foor example, great! And the cut scenes, hmmm love it. Gameplay is still better than with fifa. I don’t say it is more realistic.. don’t know about that but it’s surely more fun to play because it plays faster en there just is more emotion in the game.
Also the lay out, music en etc is improved.
I’ll probably buy bouth but as every year PES still has the most fun game. But Fifa isn’t as awfull anymore as it was. But I guess, the more I play PES, the more I forget all about FIFA

To be honest, yes the game play has improved compared to its previous version on Xbox360. However I hope that PC and PS3 version are different. Based on PES6 my preference has always been the PC version whereby game play/response is too smooth that you really enjoy. I can always perform more tricks and play with style while on PC. I have tested PES6 on all consoles, again personal observation this is how I rate the game flexibility/responsiveness 1.PC 2.PS2 3.PS3 4.Xbox360
is it possible to create a european account on the 360 even if u live in the U.S. so tat we can download the winning eleven demo?
Baha, I guess all you need to do is to create new account(TAG)on Xbox live and make sure to choose UK for your address/country details. Also please note you will not be able to recharge your market place points using a points purchased from an “American” US Store. You might only use that account to download the “PAL” region Demos.

I don’t know if I should be doing this, however, there has been a torrent appear of the PES demo on mininova.org, I am not sure how to put it on your xbox but there must be a way, I will let you know more as I get this done :)
Extract .iso and either…
1)Burn image to a CD/DVD with IMG Burn(or any other image burning software)
or
2)Mount image and transfer it to your hard drive using X-Sata and Xplorer360

That’s how you do it apparently, anyway, I have not tested this yet, but i’ll give you all an update as I find out.
Burn it on a verbatim at 4 speed, then launch from demos and it works! :D
Downloaded the demo yesterday and have played about 20 or so matches since. First impressions are good. I like the fluid movements, and the game itself is a lot quicker. If you play a few matches then have a game on PES6, it feels like slow motion. I haven’t found how to dive yet, can anyone assist? The only things from the demo that annoy me are the ref and his whistle, but that’ll be muffled by crowd noise I would hope. And the delay between winning a free kick and being able to take it. Have they removed the quick FK function?
But all in all, it’s very pleasing.
N.B. I also downloaded FIFA 08 Demo and as with every FIFA game, gave it about five minutes before hating it, so quickly reverted back to the PES Demo.
How long can you play in the demo ?
One half or entire match ? (in minutes ?)

I downloaded the fifa demo (stupidly) and I have to say it is absolutely awful. Really slow, you cannot run it past any players, cannot score, cannot cross, cannot score free-kicks, its terrible.
Cant wait til the demo is realeased on PS3.
How long are games, and do you actually get two-halves on it unlike fifa!??

Yeah, Fifa is really sloppily put together on very many fronts, it feels very disjointed.
That’s where this new PES excels, i’ve noticed you have to work harder to keep your players in position otherwise you will be punished.
The controls are in within the game if you look for them, it’s on the menu somewhere when you pause it, I forgot where it is specifically right now, but that tells you how to dive.
The quick freekicks are still in place, but it doesn’t pop up on screen that you have to press lb + rb together, you have to look out for it, that makes it better for the vs mode :P.
In the demo, yes you do get two halves, it’s a 5 minute match, though I won’t deny it leaves you wanting to play longer matches, don’t say I didn’t warn you :P.
Anyway, have fun on the demo!
can any 1 plz tell me the buttons to dive?
The buttons to dive are: LB+LT+RB together. Not sure how to do it, but they are the buttons to activate the dive.

i love the demo and to answer peoples question u get a full 5 min match which im happy about the diving is so funny 2 learn but rewarding if u win a pen or free kick the demo size i like 1.18gb so it took me quite a while but i have to say the keepers are much smarter and realistic aswell as the pace of the game also the big names really stand out e.g ronaldo,messi,ronaldinho
the teams that are playable are SPAIN,TURKEY,BRAZIL,ARGENTINA,PORTUGAL,FRANCE

Found how to dive, although I’m not entirely sure it should really be featured in the game. Suppose it mirrors football these days. I’m glad I’m not the only one who downloaded the FIFA demo just to give it a try and was amazingly disappointed. I’m all for FIFA, don’t get me wrong. After all, remember the good ol’ days of FIFA? Quality. But how anyone, ANYONE, can possibly consider that the 08 game even comes close to matching PES, I don’t know! It’s awful. I hated it.
Having played PES demo even more now, I’d like to add onto a comment made my someone ealier about the goalkeepers. They are a lot more realistic! I scored ealier with Torres, by drilling low. The keeper spread his legs and it clipped the inside and sort of deflected in, if you know what I mean. I just thought, wow, that’s the sort of goal you do ACTUALLY see. You can also shoot from further and score, as well as finding the inside side netting with shots as opposed to loads of goals scored through the middle of the goal.
It really is good folks! Keep demo-ing! A month to go!!!
ive heard alot of people say its easier to score that on pes6, what level is the demo on, regular? if so thats no problem you can just bump it up to top player :) any news on when its coming for pc?

I’m playing J.League winning eleven 2007 on playstation 2, and I was hoping that this great title was converted to the X box 360, but I was very disapointed when I played the demo, this is a joke this looks in no way like winning eleven, the graphics are poor, the way the players run is laughable.Did this take a year to make?Is this game made by the same people as winning eleven?I owe every game computer and I was hoping to play pro evo online, but this game never!!!!I buy it for the playstation 2 because that will sure be the best game.In Japan the latest winning eleven title was also only on playstation 2, they can’t make a good next-gen title.Greetings Jan Kiefte, player since Konami goal storm on the Nintendo, so I think that I know what I’m talking about.For all the players who are going to play this awfull title, enjoy.But for the real fans, WINNING ELEVEN FOREVER PRO EVOLUTION 2008 NEVER.

We have all had a rough year with PES6 on xbox360, but it’s just a game and my god its just the demo. Every year when a new PES is being released all the “real fans” starts to moan and cry.
If you cant handel all the changes from PES2 or what ever stoneage game you are stuck in, then too bad for you!
Personaly I could care less about the graghics just as long as the gameplay is ok, and I think that Konami improves the game evey year (except PES6 Xbox360 version) The first time you try a new version things seems new and freightening, but its OK, thats change.

Why does a Japanese company, Konami, make a game for their own J.League only for playstation 2? Because they can only make a super soccer game for that console.They only make their game for other consoles for people in Europe who don’t mind playing a lesser game.If PES 2008 is such a great game why don’t put the Japanese makers it not out on the Japanese game market, which is much bigger, they would make a lot more money.When a good Konami game for the next-gen is coming out in Japan it will be for the Playstation 3, the game has always been a playstation game.The Japanese people don’t buy the XBox.

Well maybe I was wrong about you, until now I never heard about “J.League Winning Eleven 2007 Club Championship” now I feel like the “stoneage man”. I have always thought that the Pro evo series was a good football game I have had many hours of fun with that said I have also spent hours in hell and cursed the name “Konami”. All pro evo games have always had a funny feeling like the Japanese did’nt really understand football but was just lucky in getting the flow of the games right.
I have always played the game on the xbox or 360 so if its true that the game is so much better on the playstation versions then I would feel bad, I dont think I would go out buy a playstation just for that (married and dont have time) but it will confirm my feeling that the Japanese and Konami are funny people.
Im still gonna buy PES2008, I still hope its gonna be a grath game, BUT IF ITS NOT, then Konami have shoot themselves in the foot two years in a rough.

This game is soo crapp!!! Its not realistic and again still the best football game ever made is still Pro Evo Soccer5 (PC), simply the best ..i was a Fifa fan then played 1 match with pes 5 and i was blown away but the new game just dont do it for me

I have just read on pesnews.com that sony have announced that the PSN demo is being held back till Oct 4th next week..
played the demo version of PES08 at ma m8s house on xbox but 1st have to say i did play FIFA08 haha game play and player graphics are rubbish the game play so slow and frustrating but the presentaion side of it yet again spot on. then played PES08 on a HD 42inch tv wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow fantastic just hope my solicitor hurrys up with my compo cheque so can get a PES3 and a SONY 42 inch TV weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
