PES 2009 Rumours

Over on the forums Hunter posted an Interview with a supposed Konami insider, which he found over at PellUK. The insider is said to have playtested the game as part of his involvement in the games development. Here is what forum member Hunter summarised from the interview:

1. Man Utd & Liverpool are the licensed teams.
2. Spanish League has not been axed. Same leagues as PES2008.
3. You CAN use Master League teams online!!
4. New Game mode entitled “Become a Legend” more on this later.
5. There is NO Official Licensed Champions league mode. Despite the rumours. More to follow.
6. 19 Stadiums including Wembley. Ps3 version though so could be different.
7. No Bayern Munich.
8. The team replacing Bayern is Zenit St Petersburg, with an improved Arshavin.

You can read the full “interview” here. To make it clear, I am in no way confirming any of the above information… but everyone appears to be reporting on the leak so I figured we best too.

  1. BoondockSaint Says:

“Who are the officially licensed England League teams?

Liverpool & Man Utd although >.”

I like the sound of that. The more real looking players, the better. Even from lower ranking teams.

  2. BoondockSaint Says:

“Who are the officially licensed England League teams?

Liverpool & Man Utd ((although most sides have nearly every player’s real face)).”

I like the sound of that. The more real looking players, the better. Even from lower ranking teams.

  3. Sambodini Says:

    To quote interfering with Play:

“There are a number of other Pro Evolution Soccer sites out there, that post daily articles about the latest rumours regarding Konami and Pro Evolution Soccer, but unfortunately, these are exactly that, rumours. PESGaming.com has always prided itself on reporting as accurate information as is available, and not fanned the flames of any rumours regarding PES or Konami. There are plenty of sites out there that will put information about release dates, features and images just to get a few extra hits. Our regulars know that when it comes to PES, we only report official news, and have no intention of selling out in order to become more ‘successful’.”

Dan basically said this site never posts rumour and then it is followed up on Weds and today with unconfirmed rumours of Man Utd and Liverpool in PES 2009 and then this interview which for all they know could be fake. Unbelieveable. Sounds like PESgaming.com HAS “sold out in order to be more successful” after all! What’s with the sudden change of heart?!

  4. Peter Willis Says:

For a start, I understand the Man Utd/Liverpool thing NOT to be rumour at all.

    Secondly, to quote myself:

“To make it clear, I am in no way confirming any of the above information… but everyone appears to be reporting on the leak so I figured we best too.”

  5. Lami Says:

    Sambodini,

WENB have confirmed them as legit. So there you go, PESGaming is authentic enough ;)

  6. anon Says:

WENB also “confirmed” many things last year.

One of the site owners also reported after Leipzig that he had played a “later version of the code” and it was incredibly good, getting everyone’s hopes up only for them to be dashed come the actual release.

In short, WENB are not to be trusted as they only report based on their business interests, not in the best interests of the fans.

  7. Sambodini Says:

I just thought it was a bit of a contradiction myself. Sorry if i sounded a bit arsey, I just found it funny how Dan had said we won’t find rumours here and then 2 days later we have exactly that. Don’t get me wrong, I like you to post rumours on here because I can’t get WENB here at work.

Regarding todays rumours I’m hoping the champions league WILL be included in the final version (despite it not being in the version played by the “interviewee”) as previously confirmed on this site. Whatever version this “interviewee” has played would clearly be no-where near the finished article (it’s only July!) so i’m hoping for further improvement by the time it is released. I’m convinced Seabass and the team will up their game for PES 2009 after being so upset with releasing an unfinished game for 2008. Fingers crossed.

  8. ramaxwy Says:

more bad news than good news for me because if this is correct there isn’t any champions league mode and all the licensed teams we could’ve had because of this we won’t be getting so the only thing i can hope is that it will have a stunning gameplay but then again even that is doubtfull because the interview says that the gameplay is going to be what 2008 should’ve been and that they are working with the same statts.
tweaking the game might make it better but that means there will be no giant leap forward compared to PES2008 and that is not acceptable.
most members here ,myself and AMATUER espacially think that with the power of the next gen consoles it must be possible to insert new abilities for players and teams to make the gameplay much more realisic.
don’t get me wrong i still think the gameplay is better than FIFA’S but it has to improve and new abilities and statts will give u alot of variety and when u use those wisely u must be able to beat every team with any team.
i’m doing my very best here to stay possitive but those rumours aren’t helping much.
let’s all hope that what PESORIGINAL said is the real thruth
and that is that all 4 top english teams will be licensed.

  9. Nick X. Says:

I don’t get it.. if they got the CL license, wouldn’t they have liverpool manutd chelsea & arsenal licensed anyway? so the best thing, if that’s the real case, would be getting two more licenses like tottenham and newcastle for example. and also, if they got the CL license, again, shouldn’t bayern schalke and werder be in the game? I’m confused

  10. Lami Says:

    anon,

Compare this years wenb news to last years and you know they’re legit. Every news they posted this year was true. I guess that is enough.

  11. ? Says:

Sounds like this years pro is gonna be ****, yet again. The become a legend mode sounds interesting tho. Why havn’t they sorted masterleague out? If the latest rumours are true, than i will be bitterly disapointed!

  12. Lami Says:

Quite bitter about the ML news myself but hoping they do something about it before release.

  13. junglist4life Says:

so what does it mean by the ps3 version could be diffrent?

  14. Lami Says:

Think he just means he’s only seen the ps3 version

  15. junglist4life Says:

oh i see what you mean.the ps3 version may have a diff amount of stadia?

all these rumors dont make the game sound very promising again man.

i think ill be buying the ps2 version again as the 2008 ps2 game was a complete pes game last year.

    so so disspointed.

konami should be making strides yet it seems there barely making todler steps.

altough we have to remember this is all rumors plus it may be early code so the final product hopefully is fantastic

  16. Amateur Says:

Konami expects us (their customers) to believe that yet again; “they didn’t have enough TIME to include all the things they wanted to introduce”.

I guess, that in ONE YEAR the best they could come up with is with a Tweaked version of PES08 and a couple of New Modes.

I’m not falling for that one again..

I can still recall what Seabass said last year; “Now I’m able to promise new things and a complete overhaul in every aspect.”

At this rate, I’m guessing we’ll get to see the “Complete Overhaul in Every Aspect” by 2012.

  17. Anonymous Says:

Spanish League AXED what a joke !!!

  18. Lami Says:

    ?

  19. assache Says:

Utterly underwhelmed. What a piss take! No Spanish league! Please get the rumour going that the edit mode is going to be complete, by complete I mean you can edit everything. I don’t care if the rumour is true or not, but at least it will get me excited about PES because at present…… Well, underwhelmed as I said.

FIFA may well be a complete piece of turd (it’s a joke FIFA fans, back off!), but, I am more intrigued by FIFA09, at the moment, than PES, which is an utter disaster. First no England in the Euros (which in hindsight was brilliant), July has pretty much been a washout in the UK and now I can’t even get excited about PES, for **** sake!

  20. assache Says:

Sorry really should have read the post better, Spanish league has NOT been axed. Still pretty underwhelmed though, just not quite so angry!

  21. assache Says:

Just read the full post, it sounds like ****! Oh **** I am really concerned now!

  22. Fat Tony Says:

U wankers, what happend to CL MODE??? NO CL in the game at all??? If Pro Evo cant be Fifa this year, then they need to scrap the next few games, and come back 3 years later with a ****in good game!!!

  23. Wale Says:

hahaha no Bayern Munich? hhahaha Konami can go screw themselves! I hate fifa but common! Konami? do you wana improve? God im getting sick of this crap!

  24. Frankie Says:

ML teams playable online? So now we are going to see stacked teams while playing online. As if playing against Brazil all the time wasn’t enough.

I’m hoping there are some hidden aspects of PES 09. So far I’m really disappointed. I was hoping they’d have more licensed teams, but instead they take out Bayern Munich? Sounds like a bad plan :(.

  25. Villouris Says:

No bayern Munich no official CL mode Spanish league axed maybe but you know what i expected this **** with konami they have clearly lost the plot pes2008 was such a disgrace so **** but pes2009 sounds even ****er maybe konami dont care about the financial situation because MGS4 made them **** loads of money

  26. ? Says:

Konami shud hav waited 2 years to get the game right. Im not gonna completely jump ship to fifa jus yet. I suggest people wait till E3 at the end of August to see proper reviews and gameplay.Konami cant afford to produce another pile of ****. They are in serious danger of losing die hard fans, and to be honest im not surprised.Has anyone got seabass’s email?

  27. Vinnie Says:

FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES FIFA 09 RULES !!!!

  28. billy Says:

konami only acquired the champions league last month whereas this interview was before that so he didnt know it yet, from all reports its been said that this report was based on an early code. i think everyone should just chill and wait til lepzig, then all will be revealed

  29. goalgerd Says:

if the game is **** just dont buy it!!! the more people that dont buy it the less money konami will get and they might realize they need to get their act together,we should all not bother with it again to send a message to konami to tell them to get they fcuking arses in gear for pes 2010….bastards!!!

  30. Mr.A Says:

Hey let’s have some optimism around here, this is all just rumour.

  31. Anonymous Says:

i just hope that the masterleague is much more harder and challenging than 08

  32. Benners Says:

Actually it isn’t so much a rumour anymore, because the guys over at Winning Eleven Blog confirmed that the bulk of what’s been said is true.

If this Champions League license simply means that there will be a spin-off PES game, Konami will lose all my respect (not that there’s much left anyway). If the Master League is exactly the same as said in the interview, that’s a real kick in the teeth for the fans. So they add the UEFA Cup champions? Nice. But they remove one of the biggest teams in Europe? Bad, bad move.

It seems whenever Konami do something right, they cancel it out with something stupid.

Well, you’re really going to have to turn this ship around if you want my money this year. With FIFA 09 coming on leaps and bounds and PES looking to be standing still, this might be the moment I feared would happen - I buy FIFA instead of PES. Question my loyalty if you must, but this isn’t about being faithful to a series - it’s about getting your money’s worth.

I knew PES 09 wouldn’t be revolutionary, because they didn’t promise that. So I still haven’t decided yet whether I will bypass this year’s installment and wait for what hopefully will be the ‘real’ Next Gen PES. At the moment i’m not convinced, but there is a bit of hope and they can still convince me otherwise.

On the positive side, this ‘Legend’ mode sounds good.

  33. Amateur Says:

    Frankie,

The ONLY thing I liked about that Interview -is- that ML teams will be playable Online.

The rest is more of the same; Insignificant New Modes, same set of Stats and Special Abilities, same Controls, some subtle Tweaks here and there, etc, etc.. the same Old Gen game we play (and Pay Ca$h for) year after year.

Oh and I almost forgot, It’s great to now that Arshavin will be included in the game -while- The UEFA Champions League won’t be included..

The only interesting thing about that Interview, is that ML teams will be playable Online.. Online Play will be better with less restrictions -and- ML teams are better than always playing against Brazil or Argentina.

  34. mn9ajas Says:

If this is true then Konami and Seabass have really let themselevs down. They have to change the master league as it is SO outdated now. Like people have already said, it needs at least:

    1) Real currency
    2) At least two divisions from each country (prem and Champ etc)
    3) Better fatigue levels that actually effect the players

and they are just for starters.

I’m sorry but the PES franchise is large enough to compete with EA and Fifa for licences. They taken more than enough money off of all of us in the past few years to pay for them. It was forgiveable in the first few editions as it was a new brand but PES is too bigger a game not to have authenticity.

If any games developers are reading this PLEASE bring out a new football game so a) I don’t have to buy a Fifa game and b) to hopefully make Konami sit up and take note of new ideas. (Legend mode sounds like a complete rip off of Fifas efforts this year)

  35. ? Says:

Its just a case of ’sit back and wait and see’ for me now. I prob will end up buyin it, but just like this season, i guess i will be spending more time playin fifa than pes. KONAMI, PULL YA ****IN FINGER OUT OF YOUR ****TY ARSEHOLE!

  36. Cheeky Punt Says:

    *Sigh*

Makes you wonder what’s more important for Konami - pleasing their fans, or making a quick buck.

  37. tommo Says:

ummmmm doesn’t it say that the spanish league is included, and all the teams are the same as last year minus bayern munich being replaced? why did anonymous say it was axed?

  38. Cheeky Punt Says:

There was a lot of speculation that the Spanish League was going to be axed, but I guess it didn’t in the end.

My opinion - I think Konami should skip a year so that they bring out a game that is truly better than the previous installment. If they gave themselves a good 2 years to creat a game, the outcome would be much more revolutionary than what we’ve seen so far. I am applying this to sports games in general, not just PES.

  39. or87 Says:

I thought you said that you guys aren’t posting rumours?
you said it when you posted that there will be a champions league mode, remember?

  40. Shadwell #1 Says:

No doubt the “Become a Legend” game mode will enable you to unlock wacky animal costumes in edit mode… rumour has it they’re taking out the shark and replacing it with a giraffe this year, something to do with Animal Crossing DS having that license. Maybe “Become a Legend” will involve changing your character’s hairstyle every few weeks and have fancy cutscenes of him leaving the training ground in an unbranded sports car.

The rest of the world can have Pro Evolution Soccer, we British need Pro Evolution Football, no cheesy Jap girly game modes. Just hardcore additions like a gravel park (dive on that if you’d like a ride on the stretcher!) and a 5-a-sides mode complete with squeaky floor! Come on Seabass you girl’s blouse!

  41. Mr.A Says:

I have no idea what to believe now, lol, PESGaming CONFIRMED the champions league was in PES2009, then a supposed inisder claims it’s not.
So either PESGaming news is just rumours or WENB’s news is just rumours.
But PESGaming has been correct in the past, so I still firmly believe that that UEFA Champions league will be in PES2009.
I gotta say tho I can’t see the roster of teams having only 1 team change, no way, so either the insider is lying or he’s played a previous code of PES2009.
I mean look at the roster changes from PES each year, we’ve had loads of new teams licensed from different leagues everywhere.
And this “be a legend” sounds almost too familiar with Fifa’s “Be A Pro Mode” so I don’t think Konami would directly copy fifa, so either this rumour is fake or konami will be branded copycats unless they reinvent this mode.
All the other rumours could be true, but im remain sceptical on the credibility of these rumours.

  42. Trystan Davies Says:

Guys you seem to be contradicting yourselves, you take pride in the fact your site doesn’t report rumour, then do exactly that! I seem to remember you “confirming” the champions league was definately gonna be in PES 2009, now a week or so later your “confirming” it isnt!? Clearly one of those is just a rumour, hopefully the latter, didn’t konami officially reveal news of a major new license recently?

  43. sam Says:

You can already do no.3 but only in player match

  44. Amateur Says:

agree with “Cheeky Punt”.. It’s better to wait 2 years, and have a truly Next Gen (Revolutionary) Football Sim -rather- than waiting 1 year, and just playing a touched-up version of the previous installment.

  45. assache Says:

    1. Man Utd & Liverpool are the licensed teams. = Could not care less.
    2. Spanish League has not been axed. Same leagues as PES2008. = WOW. What a giant leap!
    3. You CAN use Master League teams online!!. = Already can!
    4. New Game mode entitled “Become a Legend” more on this later. = Be a pro rip off…. Just sad!
    5. There is NO Official Licensed Champions league mode. Despite the rumours. More to follow. = Could not care less!
    6. 19 Stadiums including Wembley. Ps3 version though so could be different. = 19! Bag of ****e!
    7. No Bayern Munich. = What! Why?
    8. The team replacing Bayern is Zenit St Petersburg, with an improved Arshavin. = Who cares? Arshavin is a one game wonder who bottled it on the biggest stage!

All the above = Go get FIFA!

  46. Stu Howard Says:

I am praying that this is nothing more than rumours. I can sort of except the poorness of PES 2008 but if they do it again… It will be a propa joke!!!

  47. refox75 Says:

Well I had my piece all ready to go but then assache went and saved me the trouble. Well said!!! I do hope I am wrong but for me its roll on September and FIFA09 I just can’t get excited with Liverpool vs Merseyside Blue…

    so sad…

  48. Simon McDermott Says:

gotta agree with Amateur, cheeky punt and mn9ajas.
Konami should take a year out and completely redesign the game.
I played grid recently, what a great game. It is a real breath of fresh air when you see a game do things differently.
I don’t normally play driving games, because of the lack of realism. Grid though is brilliant because it gets the balance between arcade and simulation spot on.
In my opinion grid is the first proper next gen game, even the menus are done in a different way than any other game out there.
The problem we face with both Pes and Fifa is because of them both releasing yearly updates, when will they get the chance to completely redesign their games.
If you start of with a ****e games engine and just try and build on it, all you end up with is slightly better looking and smoother playing ****e.
There are so many things wrong with Pes 2008 that i think all the tweaking in the world couldn’t put them right.
When you look at the difference between Pes 1 and Pes 2,
Pes 2 is the far better game and a big leap forward in just one installment.
Now if you compare Pes 1 to Pes 2008 ps3, it had no where near the amount of floors that 2008 has.
Example: the keepers in Pes 2008 are the worst ive ever seen . To call them Deaf, dumb and blind would be an insult to deaf, dumb and blind people.
Players move like their bamby on ice and are completely retarded.
Com sides score stupid free kicks, and goals from corners when ever they feel like it, regardless of what you do with your defence.
In Pes 2008 when you loose you feel cheated and want to stab your PS3 to death with a samurai sword, and then go looking for Seabass to find out what the hell he is playing at.
The thing is with Pes 1, it was the first game and not a yearly update, and it was probably more than one year in production, and gave Konami solid foundations on which to build.
If they try to build on Pes 2008, then it is like trying to build on condemned land and it will surely full to pieces sooner of later.
I hope Konami prove me wrong, i was really looking forward to this year until i read that statement.
I thought we were going to get Champions league, which meant top four sides would be licensed. I was hoping for at least two divisions from all the European countries.
And maybe even modes like classic champions league momments,
Classic champions league and European cup teams. Just imagine Taking control of 1968 Manchester Utd, or the Liverpool team of the seventies, A.C Milan of the 90’s, Manchester Utd of 99 the recent great Real Madrid side with Zidane, Makelele, Figo and Ronaldo and playing them against the modern versions of themselves.
    2008 Man U vs 99 Man ect.
Surely it can’t be to much to ask for, something new and innovative and new stats are a must too.
But no instead we get no Bayern Munich, and a one hit wonder Russian side in its place with a player who’s name sounds like Arse Shavings. Great!!!

  49. Mr.A Says:

Why is everyone automatically assuming this is all true, i mean nothing has been confirmed at all and already everyones whinging about PES2009, And in these comments they fail to mention what ” new licence” konami have got, which they confirmed.

  50. ? Says:

How many fookin times do u people need tellin! WAIT TILL LEIPZIG! END OF AUGUST! THEN THE RUMOURS OF BULL**** CAN STOP! then we can all decide, pro or fifa?

  51. Hamed Says:

i love pes 4,5,6 but pes 2008 not like 4,5,6.

  52. assache Says:

    “Arse Shavings”. Simon McDermott post48.

    Comedy Gold! Genius!

  53. Trystan Davies Says:

Yeah “arse shavings” hahaha fukin ‘ell, quality!

  54. ? Says:

    well spotted sherlock Hamed

  55. mn9ajas Says:

Great post Simon @48. You summed up my feelings about Konamis attitude over the past few versions.

  56. ? Says:

yeh but konami shud be called ‘arse holes’

  57. Hazza Says:

I have hear a rumour that Blyth Spartans will be a lisenced team. Please tell me this a joke!

  58. Hazza Says:

Also hearing lots more teams axed
    Anderlecht
    Brugge
    Dinamo Z.
    Copenhagen
    Wisla
    Rosenborg
    HJK
    Red Star
    AIK
    Hammarby
    Helsingborgs
    Gothenburg
    Basel
    Dinamo Kiev
    Internacional
River Plate… along with Bayern all gone
Apparantly replaced by Sparta Praha, Zenit we know about, Werder, CSKA Hibs, Arbroath, Blyth and America de Cali (whoever they are)

  59. Mr.A Says:

Haha, those new roster of teams are definitely a joke, lol

  60. Simon McDermott Says:

mn9ajas @post55. I think alot of us are fed up with the lack of imagination from Konami.
In the past they always made up for this with great game play, but now were not even getting that from them.
The reason im so pissed off is because i remember how good the series was when it first came out, and it’s sad to watch it slowly fall apart.
Pes wiped the floor with every other football game for the first four editions and maybe with five and six as well.
I hoping the reason the champions league isn’t in this version is because they secured the deal too late to include it.In which case im hoping that they will be lining it up for Pes 2010, and not a separate spin off.
If 2009 is only a severely tweaked version of 2008, then i hope the reason for this will be because, they’ve already got a second team working on 2010 and on a new games engine.

As for the talk of the become a legend mode. If this is just a rip off of become a pro mode in Fifa, then that would be the first time Konami have ever borrowed anything from EA.
I’ve been racking my brains trying to think of what else it could be. I thought maybe it could be a managerial mode with job offers ect but, this should already be included in master league??….Right!!
I guess these are only rumours so far and maybe im reading to much into them, im just concerned im gonna have to spend another year moaning my arse off about the things that should be in Pes, rather than enjoying playing it.

  61. ? Says:

ARBROATH? u gotta be ****tin me!

  62. Amateur Says:

agree with McDermott.. There’s just so many things that Konami can do NOW with Next Gen Consoles (PS3, 360).. I fail to understand how some people just want a PES6 with good Graphics.

First thing is that PES6 haves a lot to improve, and it is certainly NOT close to perfection (as some would say).

Secondly, How could anyone justify that after 5 years Konami is still using the same set of Stats and Special Abilities, the same Controls, the same Passing system, the same Dribbling system, etc, etc..

But anyways, the Bottom Line this time around is that Konami haves it easy -because- PES 2008 was so bad, that anything playable (and Finished) would be welcomed.

However, with PES 2009 we’ll probably get a slightly improvement on PES6 + good Graphics. What does Konami haves in hand for PES 2010?? Will they give us a good reason to buy PES 2010?

Or, will PES 2010 be yet again another touched-version of the previous installment (in this case PES09)?? Konami should be (or should really start) working on a Next Gen Engine, something Revolutionary.

Because, even the most careless fans will “eventually” grow tired of buying the same game (with updated Kits) every year.

After buying the same game for 3 consecutive years, and after wasting money on PES08 -I- think we’ve played our part as customers -and- deserve a Next Gen Football Sim sooner rather than later.

And by the way, something that MUST change is the Dribbling system (and Stats). I mean, how can such an important thing as “Dribbling” be covered by just 2 Stats; “Dribbling Accuracy”, and “Dribbling Speed”.

Konami should introduce at the very least some 5 Stats to determine a player’s Dribbling (and Shielding) ability -and- besides that, they should also introduce a Next Gen system (Controls) for Dribbling.

But again, Bottom Line in general is that Konami cannot keep this going, that Trick is getting Old, maybe they had a legit excuse before -because- the PS2 had Limits. But now, with Next Gen Consoles, it’s time to stop relying on Old established games -and- start working on a Next Gen Engine, on a game to set the standards of Next Gen Football Sims.

  63. Snake Says:

This news sucks. Konami need to axe their dicks instead **** their improved asshaving.

  64. Simon McDermott Says:

lol it looks like arse boy is of to spurs now, so make that zenit st petersburg without an improved Arshavin, instead of Bayer Munich. That’s gayer Arse shavings name!!

  65. Pesispoo Says:

    Fifa 09 here i come!!

  66. Trystan Davies Says:

Aye, spurs of all places, christ that club spend some money, is there a team in the world with a worse ‘money-spent to success’ ratio? I doubt it. Surely at some point they’re gonna be a force…may just be next season, with the likes of berbatov, bentley, arshavin, modric, bale, ledley king etc ..they’ve just gotta be good this time haven’t they?

  67. ? Says:

in case u hadn’t noticed, this forum is about pro evolution. But yeh spurs shud be lookin to win trophies

  68. assache Says:

“Who cares? Arshavin is a one game wonder who bottled it on the biggest stage!”

As a Spurs fan, I just know that above statement is going to come back to haunt me!

  69. ? Says:

Darren Bent is ya man this season. He is a top finisher n shud b playin 4 england on a regular basis. Mr Ramos needs to giv him a chance along side Berba. As a cov fan, i know wat its like to lose robbie keane (the greatest player to put on a cov shirt ever!) but spurs are more than capable without him. Id love to see robbie finish top goalscorer this season tho. He is worth £20m. This is wat i have resorted to, talkin about real life football simply because we hav nothin to get excited about with pro.

  72. PacMan Says:

I’m not judging the game until I have played it for a while.

And I don’t see what’s wrong with copying FIFA’s nicer features. It’s what they did: first they copied, then they expanded, and now they have an a-ok game. Unluckily I have this growing feeling that Konami is just too arrogant to do that.

  73. Thugzmaster Says:

In my humble opinion I think if Konami and Fifa bang their heads together, we will have one hell of kick ass football game. Yes Sir……;-)

  78. KonamiPES Says:

Konami needs to keep up with FIFA, or at least make it seem like they are tryin to….PES is a great series and ive been a fan of it for years now but IT NEEDS MORE TEAMS, MORE LICENSED TEAMS, MORE MOVES AS IN NEW DRIBBLES LIKE IN FIFA, BETTER GRAPHICS, AND MAKE THE AI ALOT BETTER (NOT ONLY ON DEFENCE BUT ON OFFENSE TOO, FIFA SEEMS TO HAVE ALMOST MASTERED THIS AND PES STILL CANT GET THEIR HEADS OUTTA THEIR ASSES, PLAYERS STILL DONT RUN TO THE WHOLES YOU CREATE LIKE THEY SHOULD AND THEY POSITION THEMSELFS LIKE ****IN DUMBASSES IN THE AREA) I THINK THOSE ARE THE MAIN POINTS……..NOT TO MENTION ONLINE PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  79. KonamiPES Says:

even with all its flaws i still prefer PES over FIFA any day, funner gameplay and its faster…but if Konami improve just a little with ^^^^^ then this would be the prefect game!

  80. KonamiPES Says:

oh and that idea about addin the legendary teams like the 2002 Real Madrid or the 1999 Manchester United and that 1997 Barcelona team when Ronaldo played their……..ETC…and many more teams like these……….. could be the revolutionary idea that the PES series needs to set it apart from FIFA and make it truely better but Konami blows balls and just want money so **** them i guess ill get FIFA 09, at least i know ill be gettin my moneys worth

  81. Hazza Says:

‘Konami needs to keep up with FIFA’?!!! what the arse barns?
That is one of the most topsy-turvy comment I have ever read!
PES was ahaed right from the start, although it is true they have made up lost ground.
But the most important thing is to SAVE THE RANTING AFTER THE GAMES ARE RELEASED! Sheesh!
