  3. Sambodini Says:

Hey guys, is that pic in the top right an image from the wii version? The circles around their feet make me think so. I hope so anyway because they look awful.

  4. xx Says:

looks like any other version of pes…hopefully online modes will make up for it.

  5. david learmont Says:

Is that image in the top right from the Be A Legend mode?

If so is it me or does it look especially tacky and cartoony?

    Poor effort Konami.

  6. Krishna Says:

The one in the Top Right is some sort of Multiplayer mode. It could be online play or a new offline mode.

  7. assache Says:

I presume the picture with PES & WE United shows that you can pick strips again before a match. Is that correct? I don’t think it’s been mentioned yet.

Have to agree with some of the other comments, doesn’t appear to be much different to any other PES pics.

  8. xx Says:

think the dodgy colours are from a training mode rather than be a legend..i hope they are! looks naff

  9. assache Says:

Forgot to mention, has the online mode been improved. I like playing with my buddies, but the lag previously was horrible. Not sure if its been mentioned???

  10. Scottio Says:

    Not greatly impressed
For the power of the 360 and Ps3 , The game should look much better than this.
I feel they will release the game they should have last year (same visuals , online and framerate fixed)..while fifa moves ahead once again..a little disapointed tbh

  11. Gianni Says:

    Looks grungy and arcade-like…not impressed

  12. pes fan Says:

I love the second pic from the the top .

I just hope the Online and Edit mode is improved .Also new menu and master league menu .

OVer all this game 2009 would be a great game to buy !!!

Guys what do you expect for the graphic ..We ‘re only expecting the graphic of the face and uniform. From my perspective that about 9/10 ….Amazing !!!

JUST HATE THE RELEASE DATE Different from EU AND US.

EUROPE AROUND OCT OR EARLY !!!

USA AROUND MARCH OR APRIL GOSH WHY can they just release around the same month or could it be the month after EUROPE RELEASE . !! Manzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sick !!!

  13. Kane Says:

i think its like fifa the thing be a pro the on picture on the right

  14. john4 Says:

pes fan i believe this year you are getting the same release date or there abouts as the UK?its definently gonna be 2008 anyways.

pain in the arse reading that, it doesnt make you cool and i certainly hope you dont talk like that.

graphics look very similar but i though they were great last year, on player close ups you could see and appreciate the detail they had gone to, whereas on FIFA on close ups you were left guessing who the hell it was meant to be!i will give both games a try and get bored of FIFA a week in and still be playing master league this time next year because thats what PES is all about!

  15. itsme Says:

PES FAN….its coming out only a few weeks after EUROPE in the usa

  16. itsme Says:

i really dont understand what ppl want from the graphics? to be they are awesome…..much better then what i expect from a PES game….i think most of u MUST be fifa fans cuz i dont see how all of a sudden all these ppl care SOOO much about the damn graphics!

  17. super-pes Says:

what is everybody complainig about at the end of the day u all going to buy the game good or bad! no matter what!!! so what if fifa looks good its not same gameplay as pes, like pes gameplay will always be the best!!
if still dont like what u see then from pes then go and buy fifa! (”,)

  18. Octavios Says:

    its our game

no matter what but i am sure we will play it

but come on konami do some effort please

  19. ? Says:

I seen these images a while ago, but rumours a while ago were that some of the images were from pro 2008. Looks promising, but i thought the last ones from pro 2008 looked brilliant but look how the ps3 version of the game turned out. fingers crossed!

  20. granjeros Says:

i don’t think its fifa vs pes anymore. Both games are totally different. A real soccergames fan should have both, period.

  21. stark Says:

It’s the same old crap made for all you suckers to buy

  22. R_07 Says:

I think the graphics have been slightly improved from PES 2008, which is a good thing.

I don’t understand why everyone is complaining about graphics…..are you seriously telling me that during a game you’re more worried about someones face than playing the game?

Grow up people, we buy games to enjoy the experience, not to look at.
PES 2008 gameplay wasn’t as good as PES6 IMO, but it wasn’t terrible either.
The online mode was an EPIC FAIL, but if they sort it out….then there’s really nothing to complain about.

Yes we all want a better edit mode to make up for lack of licensing….but don’t knock the best football simulation of all time because you can’t always recognise a player….

  23. itsme Says:

    R_07

you need to post more often man. Everyone here think that PES 2008 was a **** game and worse then FIFA. thats a bunch of bull****

  24. Shiki Says:

man the gameplay needs to be like pes6 that was the best pes ever and the master league please work on that i gonna tell the true pes 2008 was the worst pes ever i am still playing pes6 because of the game play and so are many more doing it. cheers

  25. CROFREAK Says:

Go Konami give us something to be proud off !!!!

  26. Silen† Says:

I think, this year 2009 version will be much better than the buggy 2008 version, although i’m a Fifa fan yet i hope this year PES 2009 won’t disappoint PES fans,i’m also waiting for this game as well, same goes for Fifa 09

Anyways,PES 08 and Fifa 08,if in term of improvements,it is Fifa 08. But overall ,both of them are on par For 2008 versions. Both has it’s up and downs, and it’s game play uniqueness.

  27. Vlassie1980 Says:

Looks like Sneijder and Van der Vaart still have those crappy faces, they are totally not realistic at all!

  28. otto Says:

look the same as PES2008 to me. Any way I’ve always been happy with the graphics, pls tell us some thing new and exciting about the ML. Will PES2009’s ML give FIFA 08’s manager mode some competition. Knowing Konami, this is very possible. Come on Konami make us proud, you know that you are more than capeble.

And we well keep the Konami and PES flags flying high and we might try to win some of FIFA fans over. (word of mouth) FREE marketing for you guys hey.

    PES for life.

  29. Simon McDermott Says:

I think it looks ok. I reckon next years edition is going to be the real benchmark game we’ve been waiting for, that’s what I’m hoping anyway.
I think as long as the game play has got the same rhythm and feel to it as six had on the ps2 then it will be an enjoyable game.
I played pes 6 again on Sunday with my mate before the Man U Newcastle game and it was still as enjoyable as ever, the graphics which look pretty bad on my HD TV didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the game at all.
It’s a good game because the most skilful player normally wins, and when your both evenly matched and good at the game, you can have some real classic match’s,Unlike 2008 which is to buggy to be that satisfying when you beat your mates.
So I’m not to concerned about the screen shots, I just want to see it up and running, then I’ll make my judgement.

  30. john4 Says:

i bet 90% of the people posting on here still play PES2008 and moan about it, i guess its just natural to pick the faults in something in the strive for perfection, at the end of the day its still a good and addictive game, i know ive just rebooted my old master league after about 4 months and i am loving it again!although i did use to play at least like 10 hours a week its been a lot less this time round so hopefully the addictveness will be boosted again this year.

is sad to see they still dont have a goode R and D department, i can see numbers and positions/stats been majorly wrong again. the pick with Van Der Vaart in shows him as number 7 whereas he was number 23 in the Euros and Van Persie was 7, i know coz i went and bought the away shirt with 7 Van Der Vaart on it to be annoyed when he was 23!!!

  31. adax Says:

We got some more time to comment….as this is very early to comment….

  32. Fat Tony Says:

Graphics look sharp, best graphics yet, however a gameplay video is needed.

  33. Ghassano Says:

will the pc version os pes2009 be next-gen again???

  34. Will_bcfc Says:

    BRING COMPOSITE KITS BACK!

  35. slick Says:

what ppl dont understand is i have been playing this game since 1996 when they made their first game winning eleven iss pro gillet soccer including da Japanese version it still da same make a change that wha ppl want. john you wount understand until u play da game 4 this long it da same every year the game makers know it. i hate fifa football game cuz i dont enjoy it, it boring but look @ da amount of team in that game look @ league mode da news appears like championship manager da best game (pes) is suppose 2 have all that da currency manager can move 2 a new club there is champions league what does pro evo got master league since 96 & no change no license no feature players, player have to retire & come back as 17 years old it dosent make sense come on

  36. Rossco Mcqueen Says:

People can slag the graphics of these pictures all they want but if u think about it logically these photos of pes2009 were brought out a month or so ago and probably taken when the game has been at a 60% completion stage so the closer it gets to october the more and better pictures we’ll see!

Anyhow i don’t think you could judge properly until you were actually playing it in the flesh so to speak.

One thing i do know is, its going to be an improvement on the last one and it’s going to beat Fifa09 on gameplay.

  37. slick Says:

y is ppl relying on the game play u will get sick off it i use 2 play 12 season b4 da new 1 comes but now i bearly complete 2 season what about manager mode where u can move 2 different club wha about da real currency wha about da champions league da game play is quite good. do u ever think of all this things it will improve the game & make it da best again. drop comment about this if u a true fan

  38. mcqdave Says:

Yey again we’re done. PES has now gone the way of Fifa I’m sorry to say. Yes it’s still a better game. But all the things that have be suggested could be added ie graphic improvements, extra divisions, kits, one player career, could all go in easily with the power of the xbox and PS3 but the simple reason they won’t put them in one game is they can put you then across 5/6 games thus getting more money out of you/us.

    £££££££££££££££££££££££$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  39. Steve From Stoke Says:

It’s depressing mcqdave and although I cant contain myself with excitement about the new one u are sadly spot on. :-(

  40. omg. Says:

    FFS slick. Learn english.

  41. Rossco Mcqueen Says:

good call slick back to school mate!

  42. proline Says:

slick, i have also played pro evo since the ISS / superstar soccer days. To be honest i only complete one season each year and then use it mainly to play with friends all the time. Thats where the majority of people who play pro evo get there enjoyment from the game, its socialable what other games can you name that people will arrange nights round there mates for with a few beers to play a tournament on a game. if your interested in football manager games go buy Football manager its a nice feature but most people play pro evo for pro evo its the gameplay, id rather they took the manager features out of the game and concertrate on making the game itself. its always been superior to fifa ever since it was pro evo prior to that in fifa 96 and rtwc 1998 fifa was the king!. but people play evo for the best gaming experience. if your playing it so much your sick of it your not enjoying it the way its meant to be played.

Bring back pes shop! lol :-p

  43. Sambodini Says:

Slick’s grammar isn’t very slick is it. Or his spelling for that matter. In fact, what the hell is he talking about?! Totally agree with proline, it’s ALL about the gameplay and playing with your mates. If the gameplay is spot on I’ll be playing it constantly until PES 2010, regardless of “manager modes” etc. The extra features/game modes are just a bonus and not the main reason why we buy the game.

  44. gelidus Says:

PES 2008 is limited to playing with your mates. Online is really bad, unplayable, and against CPU obviosly feels like playing against a machine. Unfortunatly not every one lives in a crowded place, wich is my case. I need the online to be good, i need extra features/modes so i dont get bored. Otherwise i will have no choice but to choose the competition has i heard it was lagless (dunno if its true).
Although i sencirely hope for PES to be a winner as the gameplay is by far the best (even with all the uncorrected problems over each edition). Sorry for my bad english.

  45. Scottio Says:

I dont expect the graphics to be amazing, but the ps3 and 360 can churn out amazing hings when the time and efort is put in ( MGS4 ) they could fit a whole lot into this game.
As a previous poster touched on, they wont do this as they want to spread it over a number of years to bring something new to each one to keep the sales steady.
    A shame really

  46. slick Says:

see that wha u lot dont get man am up for the game’s good u lot just want game play. ill always prefer pes than fifa so say what ever u wan

  47. mn9ajas Says:

  50. PES VS FIFA(FUCK FIFA) Says:
