Finally, Some PES 2009 News!

Well, looks like there will be a fully licensed Champions League mode with the top 4 English Premier League sides. So, that means Arsenal and Chelsea will join Liverpool and Manchester United as the licensed Premier League teams in the game.
UPDATE: Champions League Mode will be a seperate mode and will not be intergrated in Master League.
Unfortunately, some clubs will be partially licensed, and La liga will have a few top teams fully licensed. However, there have been some rumours that La Liga will not be licensed but apparently La Liga’s teams will be licensed just not the league title. So, no La Liga logo or official name. It’s up to you to decide what is true.
But, a PES 2009 demo WILL be released and it’s coming soon! September 11th infact. That is the same date when the FIFA demo is released too.
UPDATE: Demo is likely to be released 3 weeks before the actual game is released. The Demo should feature various licensed clubs and international teams, which you will able to use in a 5 minute exhibition with 4 players on the Xbox 360/PC version and 7 players on the PS3 version.

Cool also it would be great if they added more teams… Even unlicensed teams. Just to make the ML more realistic. Gets old with just 4 leagues of 20 teams.

La Liga won’t have the La Liga Logo or the La Liga name. It’ll probably be Liga Espanyol.
But apparently some teams will be partially licensed in La Liga so fake team names n fake team emblems but real player names.
And I’m sure Berbatov will be at Man Utd.
KONAMI must be fealing very confident to release the demo on the same day as FIFA so this has to be great.

If the demo is out on the 11th of September, thats great, thats just next Thursday, but is it for all platforms ?. The PC Demo of Fifa is only available on the 12th of September, a day after the other consoles get one. Where will i be able to get the PC Version of the PES 2009 Demo and will it be the 11th also ?

I think the clubs will only be licensed in that mode, Like with Ricky Pontings cricket 2007 they had a fully licensed world cup mode where all the countries have there lincensed players and kits, but they were only locked in that mode ….so if you were playing a mate in exhibition mode - all the teams had different player names and kits…
I work in Konami I am part of the demo team. We are preparing 3 flavours. People in Europe can play Ethiopia, India, Zimbabwe, Papua Nugini. People in US can play Russia, Georgia, Iraq, Iran. People in Asia can play Luxemburg, Mongolia, North Korea, Bangladesh.
I hope you all can enjoy the demo that we are preparing.
Hey I am from Mongolia. Is that true my country will be in the demo? That is gonna be awesome man as Mongolia is the best team in the world and just recently won in World Cup 2006 to beat Brazil 1-0.

PES 2009 is crap. Just similar to PES 2008 by the way. Don’t think will buy it unless Konami price it $5 to pay for the victims for buying PES 2008 crap crap crap!

Just a couple of questions:
1) Is the Champions League going to be Implemented to the Master League?
2) Are Chelsea and Arsenal going to be Licensed in the Master League?
I doubt it mate im convinced its just gunna be a stand alone mode where in “that mode” everything is licensed but the moment you play exhibition matches and master league matches its back to north london red.
Yeah, I expect the same as randomman here.. Having the CL in the ML would be fantastic, but it would greatly surprise me if it were indeed available in the ML and not just as stand alone mode
I still think that Konami have a few tricks up their sleeve before final release so don’t rule out Champs league integration with ML yet.
BTW I often play as Iraq so I too am looking forward to the demo next week! ;)

So at the moment, its jus rumours. i want hard facts!
i switched to pro evo in 2003,was playing fifa before then,but with all the news and previews im starting to incline towards fifa. konami are very quite with regards to champions league lisence,which probably means its a standalone mode,which sux. if fifa is anywhere near pro evos gameplay then its fifa for me coz its better in everything else. thursday is the judgement day then!

I have two thoughts in my mind right now regarding the cl-mode.
1. Does the CL-license mean that there will be german teams in it? bayern was supposed to be left in favour of zenit was the last thing I heard.
2. Is the qualifying teams also in the license?
I guess noone has these answers though.
PES2009, this year sounds really good. With Champions League mode, weather conditions affecting the pitch, Become A Legend everything sounds good, even the gameplay looks better. Better goalkeepers, Better AI. Theres no reason why KONAMI shouldn’t be feeling confident about this years PES. And theres no reason why PES2009 should be better than FIFA09.

Can I just say people shouldn’t get their hopes up because if the game is dismal, you will be very disappointed. So, it’s better to just think that it will be like the previous one but just a bit more better.

I don’t think it really matters which teams are licensed or not, because someone always releases a really god option file for sale a couple of days after the game is released.
It’s a pity the champions league isn’t integrated with master league, it wont be the same playing a bloody made up Euro competition, when you’ve got the real thing there, just in a different mode.

thanks for all this news!I am from Germany and we have our own Pro EVo League!We drafted our teams together and we can sell our players within this League!So my main focus lies on the stats of the players because i want to know if people like Anderson,Arshavin,Pato,Fabregas and so on are better than last time!They were so bad in the last game!

I really hope fifa 09 is good,so Konami get off their lazy asses and make a proper nex-gen game. Im tired of this ps2 last-gen engine. I mean it was good and all but its time to move on Konami. People always talk of EA ripping people off while Konami have been doing the same to us. People,wake up…we cant let this go on,its time to speak your mind and stop being nice to Konami. Partially licenced temas?
Not god enough IMO. For the amount we all shell out year after year on these games you would think Konami could attract fully licenced teams?
I fail to understand how When playing the CL mode we can have Arsenal and Chelsea strips and badge but when playing ML and exhabition we have London Red and blue ?
And why has the CL not been included in the ML that would make so much more sence and finally make the ML a bit more interesting ( since it has not changed in years).
It seems to me Konami are just doing the minimum they can get away with thinking we will just make PES 2009 what Pes 2008 should have been and they will buy it…which no doubt we will. People are already satying we are waiting for 2010 to see the new gen PES..but IMO thats a load of rubbish..why should us fans wait 2 years for konami to do something they should have done in 2008.
Fifa used to be a joke amongst the hardcore footy fans but i hear and see more of them turning to the new gen fifa day after day.
I love PES and want Konami to love PES again…

There will be no PES 2009 demo released tomorrow, Konami UK has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.
Fans had speculated online that Konami was planning to release a demo of the hotly anticipated football game through Xbox LIVE and PSN to counter the confirmed September 11 release of a FIFA 09 demo.
However, when contacted by VideoGamer.com this afternoon for clarification on the matter, a spokesperson for Konami UK confirmed that a PES 2009 demo won’t be released tomorrow.
“We’ve never said tomorrow,” said the rep. “There will be a demo in due course. Our announcement will be made in conjunction with Sony.”
