Demo/Be A Legend

Thanks to Steve who excitedly posted the news that the Pro Evolution Soccer 09 demo will be released this Thursday 2nd October! Here’s what was said;
“Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced the availability of a playable demo of its forthcoming PES 2009 title for PLAYSTATIONR3, Xbox 360 and PC on 2nd October.
Due for release on 17th October, PES 2009 marks the triumphant return of what is regarded as the most realistic football title for any format. Users will be treated to an expansive playable demo of the new title, with the bespoke version offering a full five-minute Exhibition multiplayer match.
Players will be able to select fully licensed Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona club teams, or the licensed Italian or French national sides. The demo will allow users an early taste of the all-new elements set to further bolster PES 2009’s reputation as the definitive football game. All new visuals with completely remodeled players and animations, and new physics routines to ensure the ball behaves more realistically have been included, while the AI of the CPU sides has been enhanced to provide an ever evolving challenge.
The PES 2009 demo will also include promotional videos detailing the new game’s ‘Become a Legend’ and online ‘Legends’ modes, which see the player controlling just one player within a team and attempting to forge a career in football. Starting as a promising 17-year-old, players must force their way into the first team and produce a series of blistering performances which will ultimately result to a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides. Or, on the flipside, poor performances can see a player struggling in the lower leagues and eventually being released.”

Being at Highbury on Saturday was very depressing.
This news only slightly serves to lift my spirits.
Very clever from konami to release the demo the day before FIFA09,they must be very confident about ther product and are sending a very clear message to EA.
Wasn’t aware Wembley Stadium was in the game…
I hope this is better than the Be A Pro mode in FIFA, which I thought suffered from a crappy camera and rubbish AI…It was still pretty good fun to play though.
Was there a match at highbury fuzz? I thought it was all posh flats now and arsenal play at the Emirites or whatever its called.
From what i have seen of the new pro evo this will smash fifa, if they release downloadable content in febuary that would update the transfers and playa stats that would be superb, as it has been said that there would be downloadable content but have not said what it is yet.

It didnt take a genius to work out that they would release the demo then. considering it works out to be a couple of weeks before the full version drops as well. but you’re right moe, its a definite statement of intent; from what i’ve seen they’re not wrong to be confident of the product.
yeah, highburys long gone :( just seems funny calling our stadium an airline. and it seems like the prospect of any trophies was knocked down along with highbury.
oh and you support boro so i hate you.. i was up there too last season when we got beat :-(

You shouldn`t have any problems this season fuzz the way were playing,our players couldn`t hit the back of a barn door,although some of them are built like one.
I like them edit shots fat tony, its wet my appitite,at last editing is back to normal,i dont mind the editing its a labour of love.
Are you gonna edit your own teams? That will take ages for all of them.. Why don’t you just d/l an option file?
I hate seeing the edit and stats, it makes me too excited to play the game!
Im pretty new to pc`s fuzz. Is it possible to download from your pc and get it to your 360? i know you can link them both through windows.

I think it’s more difficult with a 360, it’s possible to do it more easily if you have a ps3. but i haven’t done it before even on ps3 so i’ll be doing it for the first time this time around. it says how to do it on the forum somewhere..

Apparently becuase they are using an early build therefore not all boots are available (hence why no nike boots), also this is their first session editing wise, so you should see alot more developments coming soon.

I think Konami are showing their intent by releasing this demo the day before FIFA’s official release. I’m actually very excited now, any doubt I had in my mind is gone. Bring it on!!

Are they bringing out the demo on Thursday cause they genuinely are proud of it, or are they just trying to deflect some of the limelight that EA will get with Friday’s release of FIFA 09? Only time will tell.

PES2009 is the best game yet . The gameplay is slighty differnt but once mastered u will not be disapointed ! The game is AMAZING !I have a ps3 simply to play pro evolution soccer.
1.Stadiums look fantastic
2.Crowd chants are alot better .ie when u are losing,if a player loses the ball the crowd can get on your back and start booing.
3.ChampionsLeague license is probably the best feature about the game ! ITV-style presentation
4.Players shout for the ball and make cutting runs in behind the full backs.
5.Shooting is alot better Scoring goals is harder.No more scoring 40 yarders am afraid
6.Passing has also improved aswell presice accuracy is crucial or you will give the ball away .
7.Players also have there own special attriubtes. Ronaldo with his trademark freekick,Petr Cech with his head support,IT goes on and on the detail konami have put in is much improved from previous titles.
8.Referees have improved which also makes a big differnce !
All in this is the game of all GAMES .
……. There is only 1 word for this game . AMAZING . Fifa will never be the mans game .. Let the girls play that . Pro evolution Soccer is the next best thing to playing football and always will be the number 1 game for FOOTBALL fans .

Really happy about the news. BUT, AND ITS A BIG BUT - The transfers are waaaaaaay out of date! Shevchenko, Sean Wright Phillips, and many others in other leagues are in the wrong teams. Why dont Konami find someone better to sort the transfer dealings out???? It’s not hard, but its just annoying that certain teams will be disadvantaged especially online. Every year this fails to find any positive movement on that front. But otherwise I’m really hoping this Pes gameplay wise will go back to basics - PES3 maybe bits of 4. I was dissapointed with Pes5, 6 was better then 5 and 08 was too arcadey. Pleeeeease Konami deliver.

Samir, I agree but I’m hoping the pictures we have seen are from an unfinished version of the game. PES usually has up-to-date transfers but for one or two mistakes.

OMG that link comparing PES and FIFA faces is unbelieveable. FIFA are awful with faces. Essien and Drogba look like common thugs and Owen looks like a corpse. out of the 40 pics only two go to FIFA with Xabi Alonso and Babel. and thats onli because Konami didnt bother hard enuff with them.
