PES Off!! 6th November 2008
Posted by dougiedonut in PES 2009 News on Thu 06 Nov
I would like to give a massive shout out to everyone who left comments after my post last week. I would have liked to have listed everyone, but that would have been quite an exhaustive process, since there were so many comments made.
I like to make one special mention – to Simon McDermott – to keep commenting to his heart’s content! Simon – I was where you are now, with detractors at comments – please don’t let them put you off mate.
For those not so much in the know, Simon wrote a lengthy comment, which some people ridiculed on that basis. Everyone is entitled to write as much or as little as they like – if you don’t like it, don’t read it!
Fact: We all have different opinions. Some opinions we agree with, others we disagree with. Would you want to be slated for saying things that others disagree with??
This is a specialist PES site, we’re aiming to foster a fun environment for all to experience.
If you really don’t agree with what someone’s written, then please keep it to yourself.
Updated thanks to valid point from mn9ajas: Please keep comments polite – there’s no need for any unnecessary abuse!
Anyway, this week’s article is being cut short because I am collating all the suggestions because I have a meeting tomorrow afternoon with a Konami PES representative! I’ve already booked the afternoon off work to go to their offices, and can’t wait to go! I feel like a 12 year old going on a school trip.
Except I’m all grown up, and will be driving to their office….
I will try to sum up the ideas we have come up with, and I will also leave him a copy of all the suggestions that have been made for them to look over.
Obviously I go with high hopes both personally, and also on behalf of our readership,
And we shall see how successful we are in giving it to Konami as we see it!
Thanks for reading!
Dougiedonut

oy mate….ask them when the update will be available…they said yesterday, and still we got nothing..cheers mate
Is the update out yet?
I hope a good luck to you and I hope they listen to us for once
Dougie, Well done on your commitment and thanks for taking the time out to go and see them.
My gripe is the online, auto login always fails, and lets not forget the lag……awful lag.
Im really enjoying the offline element. Mention that one thing your finding is that people are electing to buy fifa as well as pes. And should this trend continue, they will stop buying pes should they find fifa far better.
Good Luck
Fight the power dougiedonut ! ! !
It’s November btw, not October.
Does anyone know when the xbox 360 update is out?? has anyone got the update yet??
Good luck mate!! Hope they take the ideas into consideration. Not evereyone will get what they want, but as long the main things are improved/added then PES will only get better!
A last minute tip- How about the ability to be a commentator. Game’s like singstar allow you to load your own songs. A player can load his/her own commentary or even comment during multiplayer games. The game could even come with a free microphone.
Good luck, all the best.
masha2932 – That is the most stupid idea ever. Why the hell would someone want to hear there own sad voice. Get a life mate
update anyone???? still f*cking waiting… :-(
WE WANT UPDATE!
Update on the update?
good luck mate im sure u will get the main points across and i hope they listen to you
Suggestions for next year:
More Stadiums ( around 30 at LEAST )
More options like SNOW
More leagues even if we have to deal with fake kits and names ( this way MAST LEAGUE would expand and then the CL will be intergrated seamlessly into the mode because we would have moer leagues to choose for teams that go to the CL )
Make it harder to score!
….PLEASE SHOW EM this……
If konami hasnt listened yet i hope you will at least and show em this.
much appreciated thank you dude.
way to go dougiedonut… go get them to listen.. lol.. i wish i cud come along..
@masha2932.. thats a good idea.. but funny.. i do, sometimes, reduce the commentary volume (when i get tired of it), and imagine myself commentating for the game. but i dont think it wud be real practical .. but fun anyways…
@tel
dude, evrybodies got a right to comment.. and is ur voice that sad? man…
@Zlatan… Yeh more stadiums would be better – Old Trafford, Anfield, Emirates, Stamford Bridge etc etc…. I also back you up on the weather part (snow, sleet etc) and the idea of having more leagues/teams.
Maybe they could add a third kit. Proper referees? And the main 2 things that I’m sure everyone else would agree with me on: Proper currency in Master League mode rather than having points and also have proper dates and times of kickoffs.
Patch is due for release next week I believe
The fact of the matter is, PES was always about the gameplay. Because this was always so good, i never minded the amount of teams, the terrible commentating and the unrealistic tedious atmosphere from the crowd. But PES 2009 on the ps3 is boring. The shooting is awful, the running looks ridiculous and the gameplay is just slow. It takes ages to make an attack. Don’t get me wrong, i loved past pes games but i mite actually buy Fifa for the first time in about 10 years. Ironically, pes is not evolving anymore!!
I read that there was supposed to be 3rd choice kits added to Man U and Liverpool in this delayed update?!! No??
I don’t agree with what you’ve written!
Oops, should I have kept that to myself???
The fact that this is a discussion board Dougiedonut will always open itself to people saying they don’t agree with other peoples comments. That’s the whole point of one!
However, if the point is just rude or pointless, then yes I agree comments should be kept to oneself.
Good luck for your meeting.
Mate the shooting aint that bad at all, you just need to practise more and you’ll get more out of the game!
Yesterday I smashed in 2 25 yarders with Rooney on top player and an over head kick… All I’m saying is if you practise and play more you will gain more from the game…. shooting is more realistic now and you can still score belters….
Suggestion for the meeting; In “be a legend mode”, add the possibility to play the games with the whole team!
One Small Comment:
On the previous versions of PES, you can choose the random options for stadiums and weather. Therefore, every match you play is randomized.
The current PES 2009, you have to go all the way out to the main menu to choose what you want. It gets frustrating specially for the ones who prefer playing 1 vs 1 matches in different stadiums with different weather conditions.
All the best in the meeting !
To Konami: The most important ting with PES2009 is that online plays as good as offline. (ex. defending and with no lags). If they do not fix that problem I think that more and more people will not play online and after winning all the leags offline, the game will became boring (if you don’t have mates to play with/against you at home)
I read on another PES site that the update is now due for 11th November. Yet another delay! Another let down from Konami.
Yeah i have seen that too, it is now due 11th of November.
Im offering 10/1 that it comes out on the 11th (coz it will be delayed again), any takers?
you’ll get no takers at those odds f.r.a.n.k. unless people are stoopid, konami = crusty the clown
i think the crossing is horrible this year. fix that. also third kits will be a nice addition like the manu blue they played with yesterday.NEW COMMENTATORS are essential. these guys suck bad!
There’s a song in PES 2009 that says something like;
“GIVE THE POWER TO THE PEOPLE NOW, TO OVERTHROW THE SOLE CASH COW!”
..If they take on board some of the PES gamers ideas I’m sure they’ll top EA’s FIFA next year, to be back on top by a clear mile! ;)
Well done!
1) the date of 2.0 update ;
2) more national teams (e.g.Iceland,Montenegro,Georgia, Lithuania, Mali,Algeria,New Zealand);
3) Apertura-Clausura league (not only boca Jrs e River plate !);
4) possibility to change nationality (important when a player is going to be naturalized);
You should be able to add quick throw ons if possible, similar to quick free kicks. Give Delap the super long throw as well as this is something that is now a serious weapon as Arsenal recently found out.
They should bring back the mixing up of kits where you could select the socks, shorts and shirts as different colours.
You should be able to move your goalie about prior to the spot kick being taken a bit like in FIFA(DARE I SAY IT).
You should be able to shoot directly from kick off as in real life this can be done….(if you don’t beleive me read the rules)
I like the idea of including the Champions league within the Master league as that needs an overhaul along with the inclusion of the champions league badges (rumoured to be included in the update).
Expand for 3 vs 3 (great for people with who have this many friends….lol)
Make the bench more interactive with player moving about and warming up on the side line…
as previous people have mentioned allow for more weather conditions and seasonal interaction like raining half way through a match.
Definitely more stadiums… more premier league grounds….its stupid having Liverpool and Man U officially endorsed without their stadiums…. duh!
Bring back penalty shoot out as an option….
Make the edit mode even more interactive by allowing for badges on shorts, untucked shirts etc.
As many people have mentioned the game engine maybe does need a little overhaul but the playability is still second to none and a massive improvement on previous years! Still not sure if it gives me the same joys as pro 6 did but its not far off in 1v1 and 2v2 with your mates round….
MAKE IT LAG FREE!!!
Despite all this its still a great game…. its just me being ultra picky!
Good luck with the meeting….
wouldnt of minded coming with u so i could strangle seabass and a few of his mates ha ha any u give em some gang of wankers
Ask KONAMI why us 360 owners don’t get to use our own music for replays and menus, surely this wouldn’t be too difficult to implement?
Lots of people have music on their hard drives, we have USB inputs that allow for MP3’s to be played!
Good luck tomorrow Dougie, give it to them straight.
Don’t worry mate, I’ll keep on commenting. It would show week strength of character if I allowed the fear of what other people think, to stop me having my say.
The reason I wrote so much, is that when it comes to Pes’s game play, I’m a bit of a perfectionist, next gen pes hasn’t provided the level of game play that we’ve been used too, and instead of leaping onto next gen, with a multitude of new options, gameplay modes, online features and improvements to gameplay, it’s actually stumbled and stuttered onto the new system, with less options, gameplay modes, game play improvements(in my opinion worse gameplay)and gone “here you go! here’s less for your money.” It’s almost like when Snickers used to be marathon, until they changed the name and then made it smaller.
If you don’t believe me check out the PS2 version of Pes 2009. There’s more options, more gameplay modes(apart from champions league), there’s more stadiums-27 in total, with the inclusion of old Trafford and Anfield, why they added them to the the PS2 version and not the PS3 is beyond me. The selection match is there with nationality mix and club club mix, there’s snow weather conditions, the weather conditions are also shown when the players walk out onto the pitch, and in the intro for the match the players start in the tunnel. the keepers are excellent, much better than Fifa’s, the gameplay is smooth, players hold there positions better, and basically the list goes on and on.
So after mentioning all this, this is not my attempt to degrade the game we all love, with derogatory comments, it is my attempt to highlight an injustice that Pes fans are being short changed as far as next gen Pes goes. I thought the whole idea of “next Gen,” is that games were supposed to improve in both graphics and gameplay, due to the power of the new piece of hardware, instead we are being presented with an inferior game that is better in graphical quality, but when it comes to gameplay and in game options there are far less than PS2 version and to me, that’s not next generation at all.
So hats of to Dougie for realising that something needs to be done and its up to us the fans to let Konami know that the laziness, with design, gameplay modes/options and Online programming has to get better, because otherwise People will switch to the only other option there is out there, that is Fifa, not because Fifa has got that much better, but because Pes has got that much worse.
Sorry and I forgot to mention all of the squads are accurate in the PS2 version.
Well done Dougiedonut!
Very surprised you actually managed a meeting with them. I made comments before about the game so won’t go over that again.
On PR however, I do think it would be good if Konami actually managed to interact with their fan base and state what they think they will deal with and what not, and why (if that makes sense). I mean, there’s no point in all us saying we want the throw in bubbles removed if there’s a reason why this is there.
We have all bought into the game and most of us love it still – but if they share with us their thoughts and wishes perhaps we can help by telling them what our priorities are. In other words they need to make partnerships with reps from this site and WENB etc.
That’s my lot
Comment 35, point well made Simon!!
Why on earth does the ps2 version have more stadia and weather conditions… surely this means that its not an issue of licensing with regars to old trafford and anfield, but more an issue of lazyness on Konami’s behalf!
Very frustrating I have to say!
pes off,,pes off..pes off..
FIFA 09 ON!
Good luck dougie. Points to consider. In no particular order. (1. Goal keeper cursor control. Essential for 1 on 1s especially against human opponents. HAS BEEN THERE SINCE SNES VERSIONS, WHY TAKE IT OUT NOW! (2. unrealistic fatigue in the league. 1st teamers play every week in real life but in this game you get 1 MATCH! (3. computer making tackles for you. Inexcusable im afraid. (4. 8 way movement. Its 2009 for crying out loud (4. 1st touch after one TAP of the run button. The ball goes miles away from EVERYBODY which is crucial to the game. (5. Home & away option in exhibition. (6. Free kick taker delay afterwards. Why? (7. Update stats. Same stats for 5years. Torres has no pace. Senderos is as good as toure and gallas who are turn is only as good as ryan nelson or titus bramble.(although probably true at present time) (8. Home & away kit combos. Surely easy to put back in. (9. Put tricks back to analogue. Who the hell playtests this game & dont they suggest these things! Anyway, there is too much more to say about little nuances in the games’ programming & animation, i wish i was having the meeting myself! But most importantly tell these guys to STOP TAKING THINGS OUT OF THE GAME WHICH ARE CLEARLY WORKING & ARE AN OPTION/CHOICE FOR PEOPLE TO DECIDE WHETHER TO USE OR NOT!!! (gk cursor, kit combo). Farewell and a good day to all.
well done to simon mcdermott, keep up the good points mate, everything u said was spot on, we are being short changed BIG STYLE. I love the game pes2009 but it’s miles away from what i personally think a next-gen (aka current gen now) game should be.. and good luck to dougie, let’s hope some real positives come out of this meeting
BTW is the flippin option file coming or what?? does anybody know??
Comment 40, point 6… spot on! Why do free kick takers stop and stare when you want to do a follow up shot!!!!!
Incorrect stats on players I can deal with because they can be adjusted although not online…
What a load of nonsense!!!!!
As if Konami give a monkeys about we have to say.
Dougie when you leave them with your thoughts not only will they laugh at you but will think get a life you loser!
As as if a big multi natioanl company will listen to a guy called dougie from a pes site when they dont even listen to major gammers about defects and faults about the game.
haha
10 out 10 for effort -10 out 10 for thinking this will have any impact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with trezeguet77ar, about changing players nationality in pes09. players change alot now days. eg. EDUARDO.
worth a try though isn’t it!
john **** off!!! (FIFA LOVER)
Dougie go for it, let us be heard. Also please tell them about the online please!!!!!!!, they just have to fix it, im tired of all this laggers playin sayin they play bad ass but the only thing helping them is the bad conection and picking the same teams, like brazil, brazil, brazil or ummmm brazil.
LET US BE HEARD!!!!!!!!! vaya con dios.
to Simon McDermott comment 35
Just wanted to say that i totally i agree with everything you have said in your comment. You are not alone as my opinion is exactly the same as yours. The reason i brought a PS3 in the first place was because i couldnt wait to play PES on a next gen console, I still play the masterleague of pes09 on PS3 beacsue its all ive got (i have fifa 09 too but it still isnt as good overall) but im not satisfied with the final product and your right that the gameplay on ps2 is alot better.
You should continue to comment no matter what anyone says and just so you know there are people on here like myself who agree with you all the way. Lets hope we are more satisfied with PES 10.
just for the record been playing pes since the begining f***ing hate fifa.
i just being real!!!!
Konami have not once showed any interest in their fans where have you been these past 10 years?!?!?!?!?
@44john, I think they will listen to Dougie, because at the end of the day Pesgaming represents the views of millions of gamers, even if it was only the view of 2million fans, to Konami that’s 2 000 000 x £40 = £80 000 000 walking away and saying “thanks for everything, but I’m of to EA now,” and I guarantee they wont be laughing if that happens.
Cheers MG and Rabbit, we can’t allow Pes to disappear and if it means having to give Seabass and his team a kick up the back side and saying “look you don’t have to do it all on your own mate, you’ve got loyal fans, with loads of great ideas, OK so you can’t please everybody, but you can please most of the people by listening to your fans, and allowing them to add ideas that perhaps you hadn’t thought off.”
In a way this is a testament to how good Seabass and his team can be. It’s because Pes on the PS2 was so great and made so many people fall in love with it, that we are willing to make the effort to shove those Ideas right in front of Konami’s noses and say “here you go! what do you think about adding this some of these to your game?”
The opposite can be said for EA, who are so devoid of any of their own ideas to begin with, that its no great surprise that they listen to fans and fans of other games on other forums, because that’s probably where they got all of their ideas in the first place.
@40 Pesvet99, great ideas mate especially about player fatigue, that’s been doing my head in since about Pes4 I think. I have noticed though on the PS2 version of Pes2009 it seems to be spot on, with players playing 3 games in a row, before showing any sign of exhaustion. Also players making tackles for you is very annoying, especially if they give away penalties. Just imagine if when playing fighting games like Soul Calibre, or Dead or Alive, characters started pulling off moves you hadn’t asked them too, fans of the genre would go mad.
Simon Mcdermott – AKA “PLEASE LET ME A BLOGGER”
I agree with your comments, but is there a reason why you keep saying the same thing over and over and yet again over again.
Just because Dougie gave a shout out to you, would you please come out with newer ideas. I think some may be getting cheesed off with your comments like “ooooooo im in dorset and i get a great connection, except PES”.
My opinion guys – But i love the new PES game, the game in my opinion is far better than the past installments. The online is rubbish, that is totally rubbish. Simon, i understand its your opinion, and i also fully understand your a person desperate to be a blogger on this but how can you justify saying “not because Fifa has got that much better, but because Pes has got that much worse.”
Get a life my dorset, im so desperate to blog on this site.
There have been a lot of good suggestions concerning gameplay and presentation, so I won’t add to them. They are important of course, as the way the game plays will always be the most important thing.
However someone mentioned Little Big Planet and sharing created stuff, and I think this is where PES could become really revolutionary again. Ok, this won’t be for Pes2010 but could be brought up if talking about Pes2011 and future iterations.
Imagine being able to create stadiums, chants and sounds, free-kick plays, scenarios, crowds and crowd behaviours, kits, balls, strategies, leagues, cups, teams, team and manager behaviours…well basically everything in the game, and easily share it online. LPB and some other games are showing the way, and I think many genres are eventually going to follow. Football games could definately benefit by this.
@48 Sha, cheers dude. Like you Pes is the reason I bought a PS3 too. OK so now there are a lot of other great games out there like Far Cry2, Fallout3 ect, but these games don’t satisfy your hunger on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening after watching Champions League, or on a Friday or Saturday Afternoon/evening with your mates.
Lets hope Konami are finally going to listen and all this has just been next gen teething problems. Luckily I kept my PS2 so I can still go back and play the older versions and the new version, I have a mate who has a 60gb PS3 and can play the old games on there.
I think the reason Konami have agreed to this meeting is, because perhaps finally they realise their not hitting the high notes any more and it’s time to make a change.
So go for it Dougie! get them excited about Pes again and hopefully we will get the game in the 2010 that we’ve been waiting for, or if anything a step in the right direction.
@51 Mark, I’m not desperate to be a blogger mate, I just enjoy writing and am very opinionated.
I’ve been of work with a neck injury recently, hence I’ve had more time on my hands than I’ve known what to do with.
Ok so your right Fifa has got better and I’ve even admitted that myself, but the point I was trying to make is that if Pes had carried on down the Path of progression it was on, Fifa wouldn’t even be in touching distance.
And it’s Devon not Dorset, we’ve got fitter birds, and more cows, Mooooooooooooooo.
Remove the barriers and make the gameplay more responsive!!!!
the free kick taker who just freezes up after kicking the ball is pathetic considering its supposed to be next gen!!!
come on Konami!!!!!!
Simon McDermott – Fair play son……….carry on the good work, no offence at all attended. Hope your neck gets sorted…………
@ 57, 58 and 59 – Clearly not Simon McDermott, this IP should be banned!
I agree mate, what a lil sado! Simple things please simple minds!
“If you really don’t agree with what someone’s written, then please keep it to yourself.”
Do you realize how ridiculous that line is? You are writing a blog. A blog that asks for opinions. If we take your advice, you will no longer have a website to blog on!
I think that it is great that you have managed to arrange a meeting with Konami, but, if the level of intellect you promote is in anyway similar to the above quote, well, I would suggest that you will get no further than a pat on the head and cup of tea with a little patronizing thrown in.
In fact, I would go as far as to say, the PESGaming team should consider alternative representation.
Just my opinion. This is a forum for opinions…… isn’t it! (that’s my patronising bit).
“I’ve been of work with a neck injury recently”
So many jokes, so little time!
Mr Donut,I am entitled to my opinion about Simon McDermotts comments,if you or him dont like them then as you say dont read them. It was Mr McDermott who couldnt handle my opinion and got personal about it,abusing me,and stating he had been sleeping with my dead mother.Or is it ok for him to abuse people?I notice you didn’t mention his vile abusive posts when you were licking his arse.I know what i think about McDermott and im not the only one.
P.S If im now IP banned, thank you to all the people whose posts ive enjoyed reading which is most of them. Keep it real.
good luck for tomorrow
now i made a list of the details that will make the game better:
1.As we begin the match why there is no flip the coin??
2.in Pc why can’t we choose the referee’s??
3. The kicker freezes after a free kick!!!!!!
4.African stadiums..from egypt, south africa
5. African club teams, like Al-Ahly almost 5 time african champions, as well as latin americasn..boca, river, sao paulo, corithians, flamengo, colo-colo, and others i do not remenber
6.an option to buy a referee in masters league hehehehehehe
7. REALLIstic stadium Effects, just like those in a boca river derby or an italian derby.
8.The commentators are too predictable and boring..the power and size of blu-ray cannot overcome this??
9.there was an option in pes5 ithink wher u could choose the combinations of your kit just prior a match
10.Hire ex-players, excellent scouts to do the stats of every player BUT not the TOP players…so that THEY prove their abilities in tests…like shooting, sprint and so on..or do a sum of all year long stats, some players are not well built like fabregas
11.have a street game inside(like fifa street bit with pro-evo gameplay and with no wussy thangs
12.Real national Anthems before a match
13.A world CUP mode just like the Chempions league
14.ability to play dirty(yes there are dirty players, this is football)
15.there is no reset play in training mode..frustrating
do not remenber the rest…best regards
we all want better goalkeeper animation goalies are pretty good but even when they save really hard shots they look really weird and that should be fixed(talk about every single problem about the game don’t forget anything you can’t have another chance like this can you?)
i bought a ps3 because i like playing pro so much and thought the next gen would make the game even better. boy how wrong was i!! this game is the dogs dinner, shooting is random. but i actually notice that my on target shots ratio in pes2009 is higher than when i played pes 2008. i don’t get it because shooting is obviously harder, maybe i’m able to pass players even more easily in pes2009 and shoot. when i do shoot it rebounds of the keeper an awful lot and then i score, so i shoot all the time. i seem to miss the easy chances and bury the harder ones, i tap the ball on the edge of the six yard box and it flys a way like a beach ball, just because i tried to take it early but i wasn’t rushing, but anticipated the chance early.
players seem to have no composure in the game, everything is done slow, and when i try to up the pace of my game my players make simple mistakes. i enjoyed the pace of pes 2008, but 2009 is slow and it easy to get caught on the ball just because the AL reacts even though your brain was thinking quickly.
crossing is random too, but why does it either go too long or to short, and i’m talking about when you have time to pick out a player. offside is a joke, i get called of side when a player tackles my player. or on numerous occasions the defender makes a mistakes and passes it to my forward, and i get deemed offside. do konami or seabass actually watch football or go to games as a hobby, because i don’t belive these people are lovers of football or know the rules.
they really need to speed this game up.
why do players stop and ignore the ball when its near them on freekicks, after tackles, e.t.c?
Here’s my list
1: Make it possible to shoot freekicks along the ground
2: One should be able to close down the guy with the trhow in
3: Players must be able to move in more than just 8 directions, this is extremly annoying!!!
4: More commenting
5: The freedom to chose wether to have the shirt tucked or untucked… this is very, very important
Thanks
for gods sake that simon guy said everything i was going to say.
anyways mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
gt nothing
What about indoor 5 a-side??? You can still be the likes of Man United, Barca, Real but you can choose which 5 you want to play with. That would be cool! And then you have tournaments online…or offline for that matter.
A lot of good ideas have already been mentioned so no point repeating them.
dougiedonut
Why have you now edited your original post, but, not mentioned the edit?
If you knew anything about publicised writing (including blogs), you would know that this is bad form, very bad form.
To adjust a piece of publicised writing because it is criticised is poor and PES.Gaming should get shot of you with immediate effect. It may be naivety on your part, but, you have now degraded the integrity of this site.
Appalling!
“Good luck tomorrow Dougie, give it to them straight.”
I think we have just found out that Dougie doesn’t have the honour or gumption to play it straight.
Crap! Well I guess if you give it!
My apologies Dougie for posts 72 & 73. Completely unfounded misread my re-read!
Again, my apologies.
comment 57,58,59 and 69 weren’t me obviously, but it is obvious who it is, and Moe I only started on you mate, because you started on me and kept on over and over and over again. Yeh it wasn’t right of me to lash out, but there’s only so much a person can take.
Post 75. It’s called being fair you twat! I accused Dougie of being dishonourable, which is a pretty harsh charge, and I was mistaken. I have the good grace to admit if I have made an error of judgement or otherwise. You, on the other hand, do not even have the capacity to understand basic grammar.
Idiot!
does anyone know how to stop this: you press slide tackle so your nearest player to the ball with the cursor on his head goes for the tackle/block as the opponent passes it, but instead of that happening, a player 20 yards ahead were the ball be heading goes for the tackle leaving the opponent in yards of space as the wrong defender slowly gets up, bloody infuriating, help please, been winding me up for years on pes
Get your facts right McDermott. I said your post was boring and that you kept repeating yourself, thats my opinion. You responded with vile abuse and turned it into a online slagging match,FACT!
why do people say you cant score belting goals, i scored with henry from the half way line and a 40 yard drive from joe cole, come on fellas wheres your game
monkey
Agreed. I’ve been belting them in and it is sweet. The fact that you have to master it, unlike PES08, makes a refreshing change.
MY GOD, will you people stop with the personal vendetta’s here!? Get a life or find out when the update is out…
Best of luck tomorrow mate.
I’ve been playing PES5 and PES6 for the past week or so.. and the most Unrealistic part of the game is in the Defensive End of the game.
It feels so Primitive..
Having a player like Ronaldinho suddenly turning into a World Class Defender?? I can basically place Thierry Henry as a CB and he does it better than John Terry.
How is it that Thierry Henry makes a better CB than John Terry?? Seriously, How does that happens? I think the current set of Stats and Special Abilities is too Primitive, we need New Stats.
Players with good Pace, Agility, Acceleration, and Balance do not necessarily make great Defenders.. at least in Real-Life.
But then again, this is where Stats such as; “Marking”, “Sliding Tackle”, “Tackling”, and “Defensive Awareness” -should- be taking place.
Because your either Attacking or Defending, and it is hugely disappointing (and Unrealistic) whenever you see Leo Messi Defending better than the Likes of John Terry and Carvalho.
Konami treats the Defensive part of the game like if it was Unimportant, Secondary, Ugly.. it just Restrains the Development of what could be a much better game.
Again, my Opinion is that Konami should forget all about the New Modes, nobody really cares about New Modes.
Konami should know that their hardcore fans want to see progress in the Gameplay -instead- of just adding New Modes to the same Old same Old.
New Modes will never change the FACT that PES09 still is a PS2 game. Konami should forget about New Modes and all this New Paint -and- instead, they should start thinking about How they are going to revolutionize their Outdated Gameplay.
The Obvious steps that should be taken??
The most Noticeable one is the 8 Directional Movement, they need to Update their game in this respect. Otherwise, it will look more and more Arcadey (and Outdated) with each passing year.
The other Obvious Step is in the Stats and Special Abilities, Konami should introduce New Stats; Defensive Stats, Tactical Stats, the list keeps going.
Why New Stats??
Because Thierry Henry does Not haves Neither the “Marking Ability” nor the “Positional Ability” -to- Defend better than the likes of John Terry or Carvalho.
Because Ronaldinho and Dimitar Berbatov -do- Not have the same “Defensive Work Rate” or “Attacking Work Rate” -as- the likes of Javier Mascherano and Wayne Rooney.
Bottom Line??
Konami should stop working on Paint jobs -and- start working on a New Engine that can take the series to new heights.
No Luck so far.. but it’s bound to happen “eventually”.
My Lord!!! The game is annoying me at the minute.
I started a league with tottenham of all teams, started really well winning my first 3 games, I thought to myself “yeah, this is gonna be breeze”
Now I’m on the back of a 5 game winless streak!! It’s annoying to say the least but I love the fact the game can get to me this way…yes, I almost snapped my pad in half but I enjoy the challenge.
No PES has challenged me quite like this before and I’ve played them all,
I wanna hate this game but I can’t… It’s fundementally PES but feels so alien to play at times..
I wanna hate this game!!!!
Im really enjoying this new version a massive improvement on last years release.
Good luck with your meeting I certainly hope they take you seriously and take on board any points you raise with them and dont just humour you and send you on your way with a complimentary PES 2009 T-shirt.
Points you wouldn’t mind asking or suggesting:
1. Removal of invisible barriers on throw ins and free kicks etc
2. Lack of reaction from free kick takers
3. If the forth coming update could be something that they do on a regular basis? or at least twice a year when trasfers have finished
4. New stadiums
5. Improved master league with Champions league integrated
6. New nets and styles (would help give a different feel for certain games and a scense of playing in a diffent stadium rather than same nets for each match)
7. New commentators im so bored of mark Lawrenson
8. More Weather conditions (Snow, sleet, etc) this could be used in a season so it starts off sunny at the first half of season as it progesses more chance of rain and snow nearer to christmas. Also change of weather half way or part way through a game like in real life.
9. Improved AI on defenders and other team players to make for a more realistic game. It just seems that the defenders on this game just wack the ball out if under preassure rather than pass it out or take you on.
10. Online lag :( please sort it out im sure that they are working on this at present but still not there yet.
Cheers
Mark
it seems i keep coming across people on this site that are either, pessimistic bigots looking for a fight or Former PES/still playing PES6/Current Fifa commentors.
I like Simon’s opinions, very close to what i’ve been thinking all this while. What i would love to see in the future PES games is AI mistakes (not bugs, not glitches but mistakes) like for instant, AI doesn’t need to have a pattern all the time and can make mistakes like when passing the ball, crossing and what not. It’s like when i’m playing with me pals, normally it’s a close encounter until one of us makes a mistake like passing to the wrong guy and then counter attack to score a goal.
I just realize that the PC version of PES doesnt have the add music or chants option (unless i use 3rd party software). So much for the tweaking power of the PC. i think Konami don’t know what United means. go to http://www.engrish.com and you will see that most of the time, us asians don’t know what certain words mean.lol. So good luck to you mate, going to Konami giving them opinions are as welcoming as George Bush visiting France.
I havent really played 100% hardcore yet for my PES copy because i’m still waiting for the release of the patch (if it ever comes out anytime soon) and i like the game but i really really really hate the backdrop. i mean who drew the menus? a 4 year old? geez Konami, we said improve it not make it worse. Other than that, i think the game’s difficulty level is well, harder..except for those exceptional players out there. i think i’m above average i guess.
PS2’s version is better, yet again..thank god i didn’t buy a PS3 or an XBOX360..geez, tell you the truth, games bore me normally except for football games like PES or FM. both have crappy graphics but great gameplay (PES is still left to be debated eh). i think FIFA still sucks (esp the PC ver) but that’s being bias.
i dont think we’re in Kansas anymore, FIFA has tried to catch up and we’re still ahead by a few..yards in terms of gameplay (FIFA has enough button combination to make the swiss bank shameful hence slightly crappy gameplay).
when i play a footie game esp with a friend i don’t have time to remember certain combos (unless i have a lot of free time on my hands, which i dont mind u) so PES wins in that.
AND For the sheer amount of editability in PES is mainly why i stick with PES, if FIFA ever truly decides to give me a good player editor and PES doesn’t give me more. i think i would have to once again, try FIFA. yes, good riddance to me eh..owh..wait..he’s a fifafanboy..no?..HELL NO!
comment 86, i agree whole heartedly.
f*** all of you, its a game!
start playing the damn thing
and stop griping about it
I’m sorry but I don’t see How the Following would help the game:
* New Stadiums.
* New Nets.
* More Weather Conditions.
* More Leagues.
* Integrating the Champions League Mode into the ML.
This are things that we shouldn’t be asking for, Konami could have easily Included all of this into PES09.
And why are we asking for things that where already available in the PS2 versions?? We are basically asking Konami to re-introduce some of the Old Features.
Shouldn’t we be asking for Next Gen Features?? Better Features?
This is WHY Konami can afford to do whatever they want, because their Fans/customers are already asking for a sub-standard game..
NO they don’t ask for challenging things such as “Updating the 8 Directional Movement” or “Updating the Stats and Special Abilities”.
They ask for EASY updates such as; New Modes, re-introducing a couple of the OLD features we had in the OLD Editing Mode, More Leagues, More Weather Conditions, More and More Worthless Additions.
They simply want to “polish a turd”.
I have barely heard any fan asking for a New Engine, or New Stats, or Updating the 8 Directional Movements. I don’t hear the Fans asking for things that could actually Revolutionize the Gameplay.
This is WHY Konami can afford to do whatever they want, Because their own Customers give them the License to do it, they do not ask for real progress, the just ask for New Paint jobs.
Daaayyyyyyuuuuummmmm!!!!
everyone seems angry today! :)
Since Metal gear Solid series is over now, I think Seabass must link up with Hideo Kojima for tips on how to keep a game evolving!
oh snap, I should’ve bought the PS2 version…
Guys have a look at this link, worth watching its review. The review is done by someone who co runs a fifablog, however he also likes PES.
Dougie, have a look if you get a chance, great ideas.
http://www.winningelevenblog.com/news/dj-doc-video-reviews-pes-2009-ps3/
amatuer is right quite a bit, why dont we ask for a new graphic engine, a better than the previous version kind of thing by at least a mile away.
LOL post 89.Do you honestly think im daft enough to believe your McDermott? certainly not at 3:50 am,he would of been tucked safely into bed with his hotty botty hours before. And McDermott may be boring but he certainly aint thick and wouldn’t write a post in capitals.Try a bit harder next time.
On a more depressing note, were the hell is this effin update? Konami certainly know how to p*ss there loyal fans off. Ive been a loyal fan since 94 and im at breaking point.
HAHA! Post 89 has been wiped now. You will never know what you called me simon. Nevermind.
==>DOUG I HOPE YOU CAN READ THIS BEFORE VISITING KONAMI
Defenders are absoloutely useless in Online mode. Most the time players can dribble pass defenders easily and it is getting so frustrating. Almost impossible to defend against good players. The final score is always something stupid like 6-5 4-4 etc.
Because it is so easy to score and dribble, most online gamers rely on players such as Ronaldo, Ronaldino, Messi etc to run the full length of the pitch, cut in from wide then simply blasts the ball pass the (again) useless keeper.
I no longer enjoy the online elements anymore cause that is not how football should be played – despite the online element is the ONLY reason I bought the game.
For this reason I actually think this is by far the worse PES I have ever played (when it comes to the online element.. the offline game play is great). I have been playing Winning Eleven over 11 years ago even before the Western version (PES) was out and have played every version possible. Also a keen football player myself I believe ths online game play is simply ridiculous.
Can that be sorted out?
the mouse,i agree with every word my friend and ive said so before.Well said mate.
just sell pes 2009 and buy FIFA 09 for x360/ps3
The game needs to integrate a new engine. Plain and simple. The game is awesome at the moment, but if it wants to achieve its strategy of becoming the best soccer game than thats what it has to do. Everything that ppl are asking for will come, but lets concentrate on whats really important here.
@ 92,thevreason for this is the default setting on beginner which is just stupid,so we have no control over this
to comment 79 Ameture
Just want to say that you are spot on with your comments with defending and this DEFINITELY needs bringing up at the meeting with Konami!!!!
PLEASE TAKE COMMENT 79 WITH YOU TO THE MEETING DOUGIENUT!!!!!!!!!!!
We need a more realistic feel to the game and this can be done by getting rid of invisible barriers, altering stats so that players have more individuality and its not all about pace and dribbling, Got to sort out the 8 directional movement!!!!, make the game more responsive!!!
This is supposed to be next gen gaming!!!!!! come on konami, give the fans what they want!!!
I am a debutant commentator. Simon McDermott, I agree with PS2 PES 2009 being better than the PS3 version and even PS2 FIFA 09 has more features than its PS3 counterpart. Good luck, Dougiedonut.
Which do you guys think is the best PES? 4, 5 or 6?
I am talking about the PS2 versions. One thing I hate about PES 2008 and 2009 on PS2 is that when you apply pressure (especially double pressure), it just automatically backs off or even sometimes does a slide tackle when you get in the penalty area.
It makes it harder to keep clean sheets and can be irritating when you concede penalties and red cards. It isn’t a big or game wrecking problem but I just wondered if people notice it – is it even the same in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
Why is McDermott allowed to abuse people with nothing said. Shame on you Dougie. I am allowed my opinion and i skip his comments because they bore me to tears.
viva arsenal , pes 6
@ 100, 101 arsenal forever 2004 – yes it still happens on the ps3 versions. You have the situation totally under control and the computer will attempt a crazy tackle for you, its so frustrating. 95% percent of all penalties given against me, bookings or sendings off i have received are because of this. It p***ed me off in the ps2 version and i cant believe its still there.
hi every one,and fellow pes fans. does anyone realize yet that 9 times out of 10 you score with a striker and hardly neva with a mid or a def……… has any 1 realized that if so plez reply. cheers pes fans
jonny – my midfielders always score as well as well as full backs and central defenders…….
Just heard the update is now due on Monday
thanks El Baron.
Where did you hear about update on Monday? Baron?
does anyone know how to stop this: you press slide tackle so your nearest player to the ball with the cursor on his head goes for the tackle/block as the opponent passes it, but instead of that happening, a player on your team 20 or so yards ahead where the ball be heading, goes for the tackle leaving the opponent free of the defender with the ball. bloody infuriating, help please on how to stop it? maybe on cursor settings??????????????????????????
heres what i think of the games good and bad points:
Good Points
I think the passing is great alot better than any of the previous versions not as slick as fifa but maybe fifa is a bit 2 slick
legends online is great the only thing it could of bin better is if you could chose a real life player like rooney
graphics have been improved alot but the game still looks the same as it did 4 yrs ago but just sharper with better shading and player models are great alot better than fifa
champ league is a great is great but could of been added to master league
offline there are just a few gameplay tweaks that would make this game different class all together
Bad Points
online is a joke laggy to start with then defending is ridiculous and then theres the amount of goals and there is no way of stopping ppl dribiling due to the sharp turns any player can do
no new modes in online
be a legend is slow and just not rewarding enough to keep playing season after season to get to the top also there is not a button like fifa where if you call for the ball no matter where the ball is on the pitch they will try and pass to you
master league needs a overhaul
menus need to become a bit more like fifa as pes menus look like its for kids
they need to be more stats especially in master league also the stas which are in need to be presented better not in a list type way
shooting is stupid i cant think of many times when 1 on 1 with the keeper i have scored also if a defender is any where near you suddenly row z is the target keeepers are either super human or utter rubbish. goals do feel good when they go in and i think the best place to shoot is sqaure on goal either just in or out of the 18 yrd box i think shooting is better than fifa as 9 times out of 10 i will score inside the box so its a bit easy
dribbiling is where the gameplay falls flat i mean i have john terry skinning the whole team at walking pace just turning side to side this aint real football also there is no real turn of pace for ppl like ronaldo to skin ppl
control is also a bit of a let down you cant press run anymore as the ball just goes miles ahead which makes the game seem scrappy in the middle of the park as it goes from 1 team to the next
i think computer players are better this year making runs but i dont like how 3 – 4 players run chasing the ball everywhere like they were playing for there life also when you cut the ball out from the other team your team takes an age to react that you are attacking leaving you on your own with no one to pass to
when you are tackled it takes ages for your player to react its so annoying
some times you can play and beat any team 4 – 0 on top player for a few games then you have five 0 – 0 draws the game just does not feel right theres no freedom it feels rigid less control over players
there are a few more things that are bad in this game but these are the main ones to fix i really cant understand little things like having a invisable wall up around the thrower thay need to look at fifas good points and inovation add a little of there own and make a game that plays smooth like pes 6 and 2008 but with the passing of 2009 and defending of 2008 and the shooting of pes 6 and the inovation of pes 2010 and fifa 2010 as well as online being sorted with new modes put all this together and take all the little niggly problems out and this is the game the next gen system deserves not what they are putting out now
i am gonna make a choice which game to sell in january either fifa or pes at the mo pes is being sold but fifa is wearing thinner you never know i might not play footbal games this yr and sell both as were not short of games that are amazing at the mo: little big planet far cry 2 call of duty waw fall out 3 gears of war motorstorm 2 midnight club gta resistance 2 left 4 dead football manager and james bond is worth a rent as well most of which i have or will be getting and these games are coming this yr so im sure they will be a few to get me by till next pes or fifa who knows i wouldnt put money on pes next yr though would any of you?
Alex JT22 – Absolute useless comments. Go and sell your footy titles then, who cares mate. Actually the only comment that was really valid was the online, the fact its to laggy. I guess we wont hear from you again……..what a shame.
@111
Dude, doesn’t your keyboard have a full stop key? I’m out of breath!!!
All valid points though.
The game really is annoying me at the minute, I ain’t touching it again untill the update.
the update wont improvre the gameplay,as much as id like this to be true, but it gonna happen, itll only be cosmetic things that are changed, nothing major
Can anyone provide any insight on this:
I am playing the game (great game by the way, much better than Fifa as I also have this but will sell shortly) on a 37″ HDTV for the PS3 and am having trouble with the aspect ratio stretching the graphics so it looks like crap….can anyone advise a way round this?
If I play on a smaller HDTV it looks fine.
Shooting can be frustrating, esepcially with a small tap yielding a ballooning uber strike, even if you have had time and space with an awesome player (85 plus the scoring and shooting stats stats).
However, the R2 controlled shot is more important than ever especially one on ones, get used to mastering it.
For every positive thing i come across another negative crops up. But i’m still absolutely loving this game, no other soccer sim gives you that feeling, you PES vets no the one. The games is stalling year after year but thank god it was so good in the first place.
I feel perhaps we sometimes ask too much, yet I do agree that they are letting us down and being slack in some areas.
Still love it though. Adios.
FCUK EA SPORTS; FIFA 2009 JUST SUCK, PES 2009 IS F.CKING REAL GAME, OUTSTANDING GAME DYNAMICS, OUTSTANDING GRAPHICS, EAT **** EA SPORTS, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH FIFA09 JUST GO AND TAKE PES2009, I TOOK THE ORIGINAL GAME AND GIVE 80YTL BUT THIS GAME DESERVES THAT MONEY, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FRAGMANS AND MUSICS ARE JUST GREAT, WHO SAYS FIFA IS BETTER IT IS A BIIIIG LIEEEEE.. TAKE THE ORIGINAL GAME SO THEY CAN EARN MONEY AND CAN TAKE OTHER SPONSORS..

@79,85 Amateur, totally agree with what your saying. New stats definitely need to be added to add greater diversity and realism to the gameplay.
I think alot of people would be happy if they just got the gameplay right, and as you say having Messi or Henry playing better in defence than Terry is pretty lame.
Pes got away with it in the past, because it was just so much fun to play, but now fans expect more, and 8-way directional movement has definitely had it’s day.
So your right, gameplay first, game modes second, it would just be nice to have both.
Anyway spent most of yesterday evening playing Little Big Plannet two player with a mate, it’s hilarious, especially sticking photos of your self all over the levels. It reminds you of the good old days, when I had a Sega Mega Drive and the majority of games were platform games, it certainly makes a change from just blowing **** up all the time.
Simon Mcdermott you are my idol, my inspiration, ignore these non-believers like moe sizlack, have strength brother, may god bless you and shine his endless beacon of light upon you
Get A Room,i think im gonna puke. No wonder you didnt leave your name post 121.
actually put the champions league into the master league. Make the master league different and as for the com tackling for you and getting a yellow or red card! well that has to be taken out
They should put Honduras as a National team. They have David Suazo in Benfica (who is a beast in the game), Wilson Palacios and Maynor Figueroa on Wigan Athletic, Julio Cesar de Leon with Parma, Edgard Alvarez with Pisa, Carlo Costly with GKS Belchatow, etc. etc.
There are 8 million Hondurans ready to play with our heroes.
moe sizlack, even jesus doesnt love you, he just thinks your a kunt
Become a legend mode needs to be improved, u need a scoring system so u actually gt good ratings or points whatever it is used on how well u are playing in your position, in this current 1 u never know if u actually gt judged if u made a great takle or alot of interceptions or a great run say if u r a midfielder bt on things like setting goals up and scoring, Legends online has a scoring system y nt put something similar into the offline mode,
Also the crowd being 2d really looks stupid, whn u r running on the flanks and u see this little 2d card board cut out representing a crowd really looks stupid. Same chants over an over again r annyoing, also the pitch shadows i like bt there needs to have different styles and in areas were players r alot like at the centre circle corner flags and 6 yard box should be faded grass simple graphics improvment would make it seem better.
The 8- way directional movement needs to be improved and the manual right stick pass should be in my opinion be back to tricks.
These r only improvments i think r needed which won’t be too hard to inforce in PES 10. Overall i love the game bt only critisised it for new ideas which need to be put through.
By the way is it really that hard to gt the commantators to say something useful? They chat so much ****
I cannot believe that the ps2 version for pes2009 is seems to be better than the next-gen consoles(read comment 35 and 36).I still own a ps2,i have got pes2009 on it,and truth is,im quite dissapointed, with the fact that i bought it for £20.its always the same as the other one,the gameplay for the ps2 has changed, theres a few new moves(i love the tevez’s roulette),but one thing that will always stay the same is the options,if u check the shop out, they are the same as last year’s,the edit, cup and league modes are also the same, also i thought there were gonna be licensed boots! But there is still licensed balls.Commentators say almost the same thing over and over, also i think that the new passing analog stick is wasted, wat is the point of it,it’s difficult to use and i prefer to stick with the basic passing controls(u know,x and circle).
BY THE WAY,WHEN PES WAS MAINLY FOR THE PS2,IT ROCKED!!!!,NOW IT IS JUST GETTING WORSER WITH THE NEXT GEN CONSOLES!!!!
ALSO WHY NO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE LICENSE FOR PS2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mark 112 i think you will find my comments are totally valid and i would bet that 7 or so out of 10 would agree with it i also totally agree with amuter post 85 the most sense said here in a long time and have it spot on with the 360 movement and new stats.
after reading the comments about ps2 version im glad i gave it a miss as i was desparate for a game that felt like the old pes and thought ps2 might be my only hope but i guess not
Post 125,Anonymous,i think you will find you spell that lovely word with a C not a K.Also i couldn’t give a sh*t what Jesus thinks of me.
On the 360 version this morning it is saying the “Download” option is now available in the “System Settings” but it isnt! Well I cant find it anyway! Anyone else got an idea on why this is showing? Or is it more Konami tom-foolery?
Becoming tired very rapidly!
It loves me not,
I’m having a real love hate relationship with this fudging game!!
I’ve had countless moments where my pad has had a lucky escape from a severe wall smashing…
But then…
It loves me,
Purely beautiful moments that words would never do them justice. Only PES players of old will understand what I’m taking about.
The game is lacking so much as we already know, but because of these special little moments the game still has a future.
But the game must start evolving or a change of name to pro revoulution soccer would be more apt.
Moe Sizlack man ur not alone. i hate that Simon Guy too. i just realised that he uses Anonymous to post extra sad comments and not get hate comments. u kno wat am sayin.
Can anyone help me with post 115 please?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Just wondering has any body else noticed Maniche the Portugal and Atletico midfielder is niether in the Portugal or Atletico squads. Does any body know hwere he is or is this just my game?
And does this happen to other people, your jockying a striker with your defender using X and then outa know where he will just slide takle or even a defender close to him will slide takle and give away a freekick or penalty. It happens all the time to me, its one of the most frustrating things on the game for me!!!
To post 136 I hadn’t noticed that with Maniche but will check because I’d noticed Eidur Gudjohnsen isn’t in my Barcelona squad either?!
Yeah good point theres no gudjohnsen at barca either. Anybody any ideas where these players are or anybody know of anymore missing players?
I think there should be more skill to taking a penalty. Its annoying when you win a penalty and your player blasts it wide/over. Also if you could do that ‘Henry’ type chip that would be cool.
Posts 136 to 139, I think I have noticed that with the Liverpool squad as well as I do not think there is any Riera but I did play as Gudjohnsen with Barcelona. This is on the PS2 though so it could be different.
By the way could anyone please reply to my earlier posts 99 to 101.
I also agree post 140 that there should be three ways of taking penalties – power, placement and the “cheeky” lob.
Reply to post 119 instead. Does anyone agree on the idea of different types of penalty shots?
Re comment 81.
I suppose the list I presented was more of tweaks and enhancements to the already existing game. I agree that a graphics overhaul would be excellent along with the missing options and a new engine one that truley shows off what the next gen consoles can produce.
Mark aka Marky_1979
Also comment 112 was not made by me hence me adding my forum name at the bottom from now on.
Mark aka Marky_1979
The game is very good, but it is boring me a lot faster that previous versions.
Perhaps it is because some things in the game simply do not develop as they should in a new version. The game is being treated merely like a annual update. And even the transfers are out of date!
I haven’t seen this being talked before, but perhaps Konami has to hold the game of its full possibilities to ensure it is similar on both next gen and PS2, PSP etc. This may be the last year such thing happens though.
I know this is horribly off topic but I have just played some PES (on 360) and there are “I’m a PC” adverts all over the replays and half time / full time screens!
It looks really bad and is not needed!
Moe, your the biggest twat on this site, its a suprise you havent been banned yet
@ post 136
There is a couple of OF’s that have added the likes of Maniche and Gudjonnson into the game so I take it that theyre not in there. Where is Gudjonnson playing nowadays anyway?!!
I think they need some smaller stadiums and lower leagues so when you start become a legend you can work your way up from there. A few people have already mentioned it- just liked that idea a lot!
Post 148,Thank you,at last a little bit of recognition for all my hard work, the biggest twat on the site eh,what a honour. Im sure if i keep my head down and keep trying ill eventually get banned. Sorry i couldn’t thank you personally but you didn’t leave your name.
McDermott, post 120.
It’s nice to hear someone talking sense and making himself heard. Maybe if Most of us asked for things that could actually Revolutionize the Gameplay -maybe- then Konami would bother.
But suggestions such as New Modes, and New Boots, and Untucked Shirts, etc, etc.. This just gives Konami another Reason for Stalling the Development of the series.
Wich leads me to say that I’m expecting a very Slow Evolution.
Konami is stalling the Development of the series because they can, because it’s actually good for them, because their own customers are asking for it.
We have the fans who just want to see; New Teams, New Leagues, New Weather Conditions, Untucked Shirts, New Nets, New Boots, etc, etc..
Then we have the fans who think the game should be Easier, who do Not want a Realistic Football Simulation, who do not want some “Midfield Battle”, who just want a “Fun game”.
This are the same fans who will say that “the Foundations of the game are already Set” that “Konami can add all the New Modes they want, but the game will remain the same at its core.. it will be the same 20 guys running from one side to the other”.
And then there’s the Odd fan who is aware of just How Primitive this Football Sims are, who thinks there’s a Long way to go before we can start saying that “Football Sims have reached their Peak, there’s not much that can be done to Improve on this”.
Unfortunately, most fans have already bought this BS about How the Series is already “great” and How it cannot improve that much.
Most fans are satisfied with a mere Paint Job, they just want a Re-Polished PS2 game, but they do not seem interested in the actual “evolution” of the Gameplay.
It is a shame that Some of us will have to Wait because Most fans cannot see the full picture, because Most are pleased with the Lack of Progress.
But who knows, maybe things will change for the better. At least we can say the Potential is there waiting to be exploited.
I’d have to agree with post 151. The game engine should always be a priority over graphics and modes when it comes to improvements.
My overriding hate of PES in general, and don’t get me wrong I’ve loved PES since ISS, is the way it seems to be so erratic sometimes, that it almost feels “scripted”. You should all know what I mean, you’re winning 2-1, 5 minutes til final whistle, opposing team get the ball and manage to completely play through your team somehow, COM defender blasts the ball away for a corner when the touchline is the easiest/safest option resulting in a corner. COM team score. Almost every time….
I’m enjoying the BAL mode so far, but in the same vein as a previous post, I’ve a love/hate relationship with it. I hate the way your team seem incapable of stringing more than 2 passes together, or blindly running with the ball directly into an opposing player and thus losing posession (Team “Vision”?).
I’ve found that my team suffer from England sindrome. We can beat Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea on the trot for example, and then play appallingly against a supposedly far weaker side, most often from goals like my example above.
It’s just extremely annoying.
One thing I’ve found that hasn’t changed, but needs to and I don’t think has been mentioned before is the AI taking control of my through ball or pass, completely changing the intended direction, and making it go automatically to a player that’s offside. 1 player’s offside, another is about to run into space down a wing, so I’ll attempt a through ball for him to run onto, only to have the AI send the ball to the middle player whose offside. I bust my old TV by launching my controller through it once last year because of this…. anger management needed?
Seemed a bit stupid after I had done it, but surely this proves how much the game is loved, for it to stir such emotion, and I think that Konami seem to be losing sight of this.
Anyways, I’m off to carry on with my created leg-end.

You make good points but while i dont support the ideas of havin untucked shirts, new modes, more boots they dp make the game feel that much more complete.
You say that some ppl feel that there cant be much done with the PES series, that it has reached its peak and i have to agree with those people. Until a new engine is created by Konami the PES series for now has reached its PEAK and can only improve slightly.
U also point out that some ppl just want a fun game? I am totally with them…..whats wrong with that? If you want realistic football dont bother playing games because there is no game and never there never was that replicated FOOTBALL at its finest. But PES made is somewhat realistin in the sense that it was hard to score but then also made it fun because the controls were so accesible yet so deep.
Truth is….konami will realise that they have to make a new engine and noone knows waht that new engine will bring. I expect a bad first attempt by konami with the engine but then eventually to become better over time. I estimae in about 3 years we will have a NEW FRESH PES that plays GREAT.
whatever, Post 153.
I get what your saying.. and that’s exactly my Point, yes the series cannot really Evolve with the Current Engine.
But I think Some of us know there is huge Potential in Football Sims in general, and I think a New Engine would definitely take the series to a New Level.
And as for a “fun game”, people tend to mistake that. For example, I always hear the guy who doesn’t wants to have “Midfield Battles” because it would make the game “Boring”.
And I ask myself, wouldn’t it be much better if there actually was a Realistic Midfield Battle?? Because, if there isn’t a Midfield Battle, then consequently your forwards will have a LOT of chances, oftenly resulting in 5-6 games.
Then you hear people Complaining about the Unrealistic Scores, about How the game is just too Easy, about How the game should provide a better challenge, etc, etc..
So I think the term “Fun” is misinterpreted by some fans, in my Opinion the more Realistic the series becomes, the more Fun it will be.
With a Midfield Battle, the game would actually be more Fun, we would have more Realistic Score Boards, maybe 3-2 score lines instead of the usual 5-4 games.
That’s what I mean by “People who just want a Fun game”. People who don’t want “Midfield Battles”, who want Easy Cut Back Goals, who just want a Fun game with No Depth or Substance to it.
I also think that untucked shirts, and New Modes, etc, etc.. are details that DO make a difference. But I just think the Gameplay should be The Priority, and New modes and all that should be Secondary thoughts.
And Considering we have been playing more or less the same Gameplay for the past 5 Years or so.. I think Konami should stop thinking about New modes, and instead they should start thinking about How they are going to Revolutionize their Outdated Gameplay.
I know the New Engine its bound to happen, but I just think Konami should use this New Engine sooner rather than later.
3 more years with the same Gameplay is too much, for one thing fans are Already expecting Updates in the 8 Directional Movement.
And yes, the New Engine will come hand-in-hand with New Flaws.. but that’s How evolution works.
Hm… Anybody knows how that talking with KONAMI official went?
“This is a specialist PES site”
Now specialising in drivel!
IWP was and remains the only decent read on this site.
The new bloggers have turned this site into a whine fest.
Passthedutchie,LOL! Bang on mate.
Hasnt anyone else got the message of the download part being available?? I cant be the only one surely!!
@ AMATUER
Well in PES 2009 there are midfield battles and the scores are normally low. But I also get what you are saying and I agree that the gameplay has only been tweaked ( althogh pes 2009 is a very very well tweaked game ). New engine is needed but what i meant with 3 years having a new fresh pes was that I think for sure pes 2011 will bring the new engine and that 2012 will fix most of its flaw. Next year I think will be KONAMI’s last with the current engine.
Although you cant really complain too much tho as PES 2009 is still clearly better then FIFA in terms of gameplay.
Guys i bought the FIFA game because a mate of mine was shouting how great it is. After playing the game quite a few times, it really is a good game, however i still prefer PES, i just find the game play is more realistic and enjoyable.
Fifa online is great only if the other player has a good connection, if not it lags really badly. I think this is the same problem with PES, if you find people with a solid yellow light and yours is the same of better then you will have a lag free game.
right when the update comes out where and how do we get it – ps3 store or download from pc ???
PLEASE REPLY ANY1 WHO KNOWS5
adamtheluck49,Yes i have the message too,but if you read both new messages the first one says a new download option feature to the system settings will be made avalable from the 10th of nov,the second says the the update is avalable now.Trouble is you need the new download option to get the update so you will have to wait till tomorrow between 10 and 12 GMT.Confusing i know but thats Konami for you.
Post 161- Mate normally or that happens is as long as you are signed in, as soon as you put the disk in / load the game the update prompt for PES will come up.
Hope this helps like!!!!!
161.They are putting a new download feature on the games system settings tomorrrow and you download it there. Not the PS3 store or XBox marketplace.
Moe Sizlack – Not totally true!!! You only download it once prompted.
Moe Sizlack shut your noise little boy, grow some balls you prick
DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR ONLINE MODE IN GAME TO GET THIS UPDATE OR JUST SIGN IN THE PSN NETWORK AS USUAL???..COZ I DONT PLAY ONLINE
TO G post 140:
henry couldnt do a cheeky chip if his life depended on it, all stats no end product
is the update def on tomorrow im bored of it now, i hope they keep german sides off it there garbage
This game sucks so badly.
PES has always been about the tactical midfield battle as mentioned before, this game is just a run-and-score game. While other things have been improved, such as passing, other things which were fun in other years are now obsolete. I’ve been playing Konami’s football games since it’s beginnings, I just wish they went back to basics from those great first years of the sequel.
Also the players look retarded when they run and they are full of glitching bull****, especially the defense, how many times will a defender miss(glitch) a ****ing crucial header in a game? Jesus F. Christ. I’m going to give Konami one more chance for next year, I haven’t played fifa since 2000 but if this continues I’m going to be buying FIFA from next year and never buy a Konami game ever again!
WHATEVER,no wonder nobody helps anyone on this site.As for you hyde, shouldnt you be in bed ready for school in the morning?and ill grow some balls when you grow some pubes you little pillow biter.
@Amateur & Whatever- Hopefully Dougie may have found out some info in his meeting with Konami on when the new games engine is likely to appear. I’m just hoping they realise it needs one and don’t just keep tweaking the current one year after year. The one thing we know about the Pes team is that they like to take things slowly, so if next year is only a slight improvement again, they could end up having another bad year, although I haven’t seen the figures from this year, does anyone know who has sold the most copy’s, Fifa or Pes.
I think if Konami fail to take our ideas seriously, then the only other thing that will cause a massive turn around, will be a serious drop in sales, lets hope it doesn’t come to this though and they already realise a massive improvement is needed, in every area of the game.
Konami have always taken longer than most to get to grips with the next gen consoles, so we may see a huge advance in the games engine by 2011/2012, unless Seabass has actually lost the use of his faculties and believes the current engine is fine.
On the plus side what Dougie is doing by trying to establish relations between Konami and there fans, could help the progression of the series and help speed up the evolution process a little. Fans seem to fall into two groups, those who are happy with Pes the way it is and don’t want that much change, and those who are unhappy with the slow progress Konami are making in the innovation of more realistic gameplay, more stats, greater depth, a proper next gen game.
One thing we can be sure off is the reason I and many others have bought and supported Pes for so many years, is that Seabass’s vision and portrayal of football has matched our own. Now however it does not and neither does Fifa, this is why by getting a voice for the fans of this website and others, we can help influence Seabass’s vision, by incorporating the fans ideas into the game and thus moulding a visage of Football that the majority of us are happy with again.
Tel,you download the new options when prompted yes, included in those new options is a new Download option added to the GAME which will appear on the system settings. You go to the system settings then scroll down to the new download option, from there you get the update.Orton your console must be online to get it.
Moe no-one want your advice, why would they take advice from someone who spreads AIDS around, you diseased little prick, use your real name you scared little ****e
LOL! Hyde.i didn’t realise you were the site spokesperson.Ive never seen your name on here before.Tell me,have you ever made a relevent point? I dont know if you have noticed but nobody uses there real name on here, other than you that is.Do you feel like a big man behind your keyboard? I bet you get bullied at school dont you??you little fanny.
y all the hate…were livin in de AGE OF PES09
who says this is my real name you naive waynk
Will someone please reply to posts 119, 141, 142 and 143?
nov. 11th i can finally play the full game! Are there any gameplay differences from the demo?
re:180
I like the demo gameplay than the final version of pes09. The demo game play give you more realistic gameplay…ps3…
i thought i was never going to say this, but fifa 09 is a lot better than pes2009.dont get me wrong i am not a fifa fanboy making propaganda on a pes site. i have always been a winning pes fan because of the gameplay they provided mainly. but i have to say with all the pain that carries, that ea brought an overall superior game than pes finally, what i feared has came true. besides the obvious advantage of fifa as regarding to licenses and graphics, fifa has deeper, deeper managing mode and league modes, pes still has advantage in tactics deapt. regarding gameplay,YES FIFA IS BETTER, i know that the mayority of you gamers wont agree with me, but mates, we have to accept when something is good, and when we have been relegated. the only thing that keeps pes2009 a bit better is in shooting and player changing in game. pes 2009 is extremely fast, nothing compared to real footbal, i mean i was watching lecce vs milan today an they way the players moved and passed the ball felt a lot like in fifa players physics, they feel “heavy” like real humans, if you see pes you feel like you are playing with computer player (i dont know if i explained myself), playin in legendary mode in fifa is really really difficult, i dont hace much to say about pes, its the same as pes 2008, it seems that konami reached their top with pes6 and from then on they were not able to overcome that stage of game development, when i play pes 2009 with its pop menus all scrambled and desorganized i dont feel challenged any more, i feel like if in 30 min of playin games ive already managed to handle the way around the game, because it does not improve in anything, always the same player physics, too easy to use… i been playin fifa for like 2 days, and to be honest i feel really really frustrated because its too dificult to use, the ai really challenge me, that including the amazing graphics and the licensing, i mean its to hear espn radio podcast while you are arraging squads in the menu, and to have updated info every min on the football world in the screens menu, well that what i wanted to say
ochavac@yahoo.com
Update out yet? -.-
I hope they fix online with this update, cuz i keep getting this Port error. I tried everything and it didn’t work.
re:182
This only my own opinion, please ignore,if you disagreed with it.. now we talk about the gameplay, u said that pes09 game play was too fast after compared football match between lecce and milan. But did you watch last saturday match between arsenal and manu? wow, the pace was extremely fast, no matter which team get the ball. Actually i’m still agree with you that the speed of passing in pes09 quite fast. But overall still acceptable. One thing i would like to mentioned that when the computer Al was goal behind on first half, they will increase the speed of pace and attack your strategic weakness to get the equalizer in second half.
About the fifa09, sorry this year i didn’t buy fifa09, but last year i bought fifa o8. from fifa 08, i definitely agreed with you that fifa manager mode league was more…more fun than pes …they have real schedule, real currency..and all team from all division. …..from malaysia… thanks….
I always enjoyed playing the online tournaments on the pro evo game a few years ago, always enjoyed the challenge which is much better than playing endless friendly matches
Yes! Yhe patch 1.2 is out now. I’m downloading it (41MB).
i got the update but nothings changed. is it coz i had an edited option file prior to this? the online mode still doesnt work. any ideas guys?
what this **** update do apart from use ledgend player online/
@188
You have to go to system setings and chose last option “download”. This function stil does not work now becouse you cant’t connect to the Konami’s servers. Wait until Konami open their servers and try then.
Simon Mcdermott, Amatuer, and Anonymous are the same person i think. Quite sad using diffrent names to agree with your own posts. Say hello to 4 in a row.
plz tell me are the teams squad updated?
@ 190,
as soon as i turned on the ps3 it downloaded it for me then installed it? i didnt know i have to go to settings?
just downloaded the patch, you have to go to system settings, then select the option “DOWNLOAD”,selecting this checksfor transfer updates and downloads them. The patch will not do this on its own, this is what you have to do,but currently the network is busy, and the message an ERROR occured keeps coming up,you need to just keep trying until you connect with the server
I have downloaded the patch and i can no longer connect to the network and also it seems to have knackered the connection to my media server as its coming up with errors 2101 & 2104, thanks a bunch
Try now to download patch from your systemsettings on the game. Konami has reopned their servers! Good luck
@191 I can assure you that Anonymous, Amateur and myself are not the same person, just because we happen to agree with each other and you don’t like that opinion, it is easier for you to say that we are the same person, than believe that we are right. If I was to use the same empirical diagnosis you just have I would say Celtic shady town, Flowers of Manchester, Moe sizlack and Passthedutchie were all the same person, just because you agree with each other.
Don’t forget Dan can see our I.P address and knows if someone is being sad, pretending to be multiple people, then answering there own questions and praising themselves.
There are no benefits to that sort of behaviour, you just undermine yourself and make yourself look a massive **** in the long run.
I went on to download the update but when I went into System Setting it said Download and when I clicked it just had the demo and trailer avavaliable for download
I have x 360 by the way
@ 198
I have PS3 and I think that is the same as PS3. When you launch the game your console will starting to download the patch 1.2. After that you need to start the game and go to the system settings. After that chose last option “download” and the rest is selvexplaned. Good luck!
Downloading at roughly 30KB/ s.and everybody is doing the same thing,so naturally it will be slow,it also warns you that certain data will be lost,so i dont know what that will entail once finished, but i presume anyone that done the Premiership kits and the like ,that will be gone, damn still only 11% downloaded, could be a long day
Finally had a full weekend to play PES09 and…
It’s still more fun than FIFA!
Don’t get me wrong FIFA has the bells and whistles but when it comes to it… Nothing beats the intensity of PES.
The 8-way movement sucks though, along with the penalty shootout, which FIFA nailed this year.
Feel there’s more of a learning curve in PES09 than FIFA09. Heck, I scored a bicycle kick in my first FIFA 09 game!
FIFA09 is good, PES09 is still a step ahead in terms of gameplay.
I’VE SOLVED THE ONLINE LAG PROBLEM!!!!
Not really, just wanted to urge people with crap Internet connections to stop fu*king up the online experience for the rest of us. Konami should relegate these flickering red light fu*ks into their own server, they can teleport and levitate the ball to the by line and cut it back to their hearts content. As soon as I see that red fu*king light, I know I’m not going to enjoy the game, regardless if I win or not. Why should people who have a half decent connection have to put up with this SH!TE!!! KONAMI, RELEGATE THE RED LIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I launched pes09 it asked me to download the update, so I did. After it finished, I tried loading up the game. However, just before the Konami logo comes up in the game – the stars at the bottom left corner show that its trying to load the game – getting bigger and smaller. It just stays on that screen, the game doesn’t load up from here…Has anyone else got that problem???????
Shoayb_MUFC I have the exact same problem as you have!!!!!!!!!!!
It also says that an error has occurred..
I’ve just updated to the latest patch and have just noticed one of the Greek players in the new adidas tunit’s 50.9’s…….nice !!
Great, more spanish licensed teams……….who cares?
i love pes, bt we keep expecting konami to solve all of the games problems.
1st 08 problems were to be solved by 09
now the patch was to solve 09?
where are the latest transfers?, online lag solutions?, championsleague as part of MS?
i LOVE PES, have owned every 1 ever
but im startin 2 feel konami are taking the michael
p.s, anyone got a kit patch for the 360?
To manu 4 ever @ 208.
You clearly are a retard. The transfers are available for download as well as improved online play. Go to system settings in the main menu, then downloads, then download it (better by http).
You’re welcome.
Thanks gorgeous
whats with the update??? i heard we was getting new kits and team names and all we got is something about replays..come on man
Improved online play @ 209,thats a joke, still in beginner default,no improvement im afraid, just a thought ,we are all mugs ,reason being,we have a ll purchased a game that is clearly unfinished, hence we wouldn’t have to wait a month for some sort of quick fix/repair.By releasing this patch,is an admittance that this was released unfinished, same as last year, and we will have to put up with this again im afraid
i play on pc and mostly my connection is green and sometimes is red!!! whats wrong wen i hav a very good internet connection and a very good pc!!! I played dis person who is ranked number 1 in the pc rankings and he lagged so much and never scored proper goals and he wasnt even good so i wonder how he was first. They need to fix dis online mode quickly and put it into top player mode and NOT beginner!!!
But offline its the best pro evo game ever out and much better than fifa!!
ABOUT THE NEW UPDATE:
Firstly when you download the update you have to go to the system settings and install it on ‘download’
the update looks good, champions league kit markings and new teams are added, There are more kits added aswell (3rd kits), such as champions league kits for Liverpool and Man utd
Liverpool are also added to the champions league mode with other teams.
all transfers are completed e.g. berbatov, riera, robinho
whats everyones view on this patch? there’s no improvement online… if anything ive found it worse!
There is no update out!!!! God only knows why so many lies are being told
@ 216,once again, all they have done is put nice touches on the game, gave it a lick of paint ,to make it look pretty, but not asressing the real problems of the game.Online is appaling, even worse than last year imo,and it was ****e then, this beginner mode that we are stuck in makes it even worse, but players still teleport from time to time, the players are unresponsive, and miss the ball at so crucial times ,or give away a foul without your intervention. The cursor is so f*****g slow, ive made a sandwich in between its movements.Konami have no excuse for putting out another ****e online mode
just updated it 10 mins ago playing liverpool vs ath madrdid
looks good
mark i think youll find there is ,unless youre being sarcastic, then you are right ,because it hasn’t done f**k all to the gameplay except make it worse online
why release the game when it was clearly not finished, konami are gay. this game should of had a december release date to sort out all the bull****. non responsive players, slow reactions, absolutley ****e i wasted my money, i’m playing it just for the sake of it.
Couldnt agree more 218, shame innit.
am i dreaming that there will be such a thing as a 360 mem card with all the kits and stuff edited? like the glorious ps2 old days?
i know theres so many complications with the 360, i just wanna keep the hope alive!
why can’t i use manual cursor online aswell? i don’t like the cpu interference to slow to respond. what is this assisted, semi-assited bull ****!! how about no cursor assitance from the retarded AI.
goran, well thats the trouble, you say you are playing it for the sake of it,you and me ,and probably the majority of people are doing the same, but if we as a unit were to make a stand and boycott this game until its sorted then it will hit them in the pocket. This is one of their biggest selling titles, and they cant be asked to put the work that is required to keep it there as a top title, well f**k them.Ive made phone calls to them, and all i gaet back is lies.God knows what **** they have told Dougie, but whatever the reason,it just aint good enough, you gave them good money so you expect a good game in return
footie mad……… top man
we think it, you say it!
For those still saying PES better than FIFA 09 or not only that even if they say PES is a soccer game at all, they must be made of Monkey/Chimpanse brain. You are kidding m8 how could you playing this joking soccer game! PES 08/09 is unthinkable and unspeakable: WORST SOCCER GAME EVER!
I stop buying PES/WE since 2008. I bought 1998/99/00/01/02/03/04/05/06/07. Konami must have lots of money from people and me. It is so dissapointing they do not invest in technology. They go backward to the stone age.
Tell me other games where online is suck? The answer is NONE!!!! The only next-gen game (hey please note I am saying game not soccer game) that has laggy online is by SEABASS.
What a shame? The only studio in the world developing next-gen incapable of bringing the online play to a decent place.
KONAMI is SHAME!
well manu 4 ever,im so fed up with been made to look a joey when i call them and tell them there is a problem with the online only to be told some b******tabout my contention line ,or give me some technical jargon ,which to be honest is beyond me.So if its my connection, then how come i am not alone, because the majority of people seems to be having probs also, this needs to be addressed,or they need to face up to the facts that they cannot make the transition from the ps2 to a next gen console where this game is concerned.I would have more respect for them if they did that, but instead they bring out an unfinished game to keep up with EA , regardless of the consequences, and in doing so ,the damage to their reputation may become unrepairable. I do not like fifa, but make no mistake, they are getting there, and very quickly too, why, because they listen. They will take the title this year and it will serve Konami right for cutting corners
@ 227 dont insult chimps, they are quite intelligent creatures, unlike the buffons that make this game
The only thing that game needs to sort out is the Lag in my opinion, We will all have different valid Ideas but the fundemantal problem is how Konami have managed to create a great product(the game itself) and then limit it`s full powers by creating such an abysmal online product. I personally play online with my friend on all manners of game`s from Gears of war to grand theft auto and we never have any problems , so I really cant understand how games that show far more detail than Pes can cope and Pes fall`s flat on it`s face time after time??? Lets hope this gets resolved with this long awaited patch ey!!!
who tests the games for these people (konami), is it fifa fanboys because this was never complete or good enough for release. i really do believe this game is worse than pes 2008. footie mad if everyone on this site agreed on a boycott i would happily join in if it meant we get a better game. konami can’t surely get worse than this?
well Sandell, the patch is already out,and hey ,guess what, there aint no difference,no tell a lie,the online has got worse
Well it aint chimps as suggested goran that test these games,or else it would probably play perfectly, they only test within a small area ,therefore it all seems fine ,but as we all know,on a grand scale it isnt,a boycott would be great,or even no one go online for a day, something to make them realise we are unhappy,or call their phone constantly for a day and complain. But people can be fickle and get too attached, therefore the system falls down.Well here’s a tip.Never get too attached to somethib=ng that you are unable to walk away from in 30 seconds, yes itll hurt, yes ull mis it but time will ease the pain.lets do it
Thanks Footie Mad when did it come out I havn`t had the chance to get online over the weekend? I can`t believe they havn`t tried to sort it with the patch I would love to no what the hell they do with the maintenance every day!
Sandell ,it came out betwee 10-12 today, all its done is update the transfers and a few kits in champion league ,pure cosmetic stuff, nothing of worth.I personally dont think they do F**k all maintenance as it always seems to be the same.Second year in a row they have taken the p*ss out of us,yes thats all of us,everyone that has purchased the game, whether you like it or not,we are Konami’s bitches, and they will keep taking,as long as we keep giving
‘footie mad’ – is ur connection bad/good cos my online play is quite good really cos mostly it hardly lags. But they should have set it to top player dats why players are not responding when u need them to.Is anything sorted out in the online play????
Gago,my connection is good, yes i understand the principle of why it is so bad, therefore Konami are selling us short by depriaving us of being able to play a decent game.To date there is no improvement in online play,in fact i dont know if it is just me ,but i actually think it has got worse, sorry to burst your bubble m8
Update does not overwrite any edited badges or other kit markings on 360. Spanish sides updated (still no official Valencia though, shocking!).
Thankfully, custom emblems & kit markings are held in separate uniform data files.
So, all who may have been worried to say yes to the overwrite edit data pop up after downloading the update, you can now say yes without concern.
Sorry to post such boring factual stuff!
Carry on the drivel!
Does the update overwrite the edited kits and badges that many have slaved to create on the PS3?
no 240
Can you play pc v ps3 or pc v other consoles online?? or is just pc v pc online?? cos it would be good if they can do this.
thanks 241
any1?
Why do i dont get the update ! i Live in Holland so maybe its only in the US// or ???! is there something wrong with my Ps3
What the hell is a “Pro Evolution”? Why are you talking in code? Whats this PES 2009? What are you juveniles planning? Is this some kind of fanatic site for terrorists? What are you planning? Tell me, tell me now.
Vote for me.
Or die.
Either way, i dont care.
Mark @ 217
Shut your mouth b4 I shank you.
to Idindnt get the UPDATE! @ 246
Make sure you’re signed in to playstation network before you load the game.
SHANK.

It seems an apology is in order, after playing online for a while,i have noticed there is an improvement in the defending department, even though you kinda work hard at it but it has def improved.Astep in the right direction. Now remove the silly Beginner default, and we might have a game on our hands
Have free kicks yet improved on Pes 2009?
pes is still the same with pes 2008…
try FIFA 09 in consoles, Best soccer game ever
On-line issues
————–
Hello everyone.
I want to share an experience with all of you.
I like many of you bought the xbox because playing on-line is what its about. The slogan against the game says it all ‘Jump in’.
Gone are the days when I used to sit there with my Atari, commodore 64, ZX spectrum, Nintendo 64, playstation 2 and have to wait for family and friends to come to the house and have a crack at my ambitions to be the best.
Now we just turn on and the whole gaming community are in your living room ready to play.
When I bought my xbox360 I bought one game which was PES6 because I am like most of you footie mad.
I played this endlessly competing against friends on-line with it often playing havoc with my sleep cycles.
Lets just say the on-line gameplay was so good that I felt there was no need to buy another game. For many months I did not.
Then there was all this talk about the next PES to be released. People around me were excited. This excitement rubbed off on me and I eagerly awaited the game to be released.
Like many of you I was dissapointed with PES08.
I thought at the time, everyone is entitled to a mistake, even a big corporation like Konami.
I thought at the end of 2007, surely when next years version comes out it will be sorted and the game will be back to what we know and love.
How wrong I was and many others that thought like me.
The simple truth is.
THE GAME IS BROKEN.
The platform for on-line gaming is PARAMOUNT.
If a game cannot play on-line for the xbox360 then it is BROKEN.
Just like when your Mum bought you that fire engine and the lights did not turn and flash. You took it back and said this is BROKEN.
I was on-line most of last week. I created several rooms hoping to get a good connection with a fellow player. It just did not happen. When ever I connected, there light would show amber or green. I would wait hoping it maintains and then start the match. Then it would just go balistic with the connection flashing red. The lag made the game in-tolerable.
I should not have to sit and hope for a good connection.
This experience last week has put me right off PES and Konami.
For me, on-line is where the fun is. If I can’t even get a reasonable connection what is the F***in point.
We keep hearing about updates and server maintenance. That is all Boll**ks……
They have Fu**ed up big style.
One thing is for sure. I will hold off before buying PES10. I will wait and see the response. They are not getting any more money from me.
I would have forgiven Konami for the little effort they have put into evolving the gameplay. I would have forgiven Konami for the little research and development they do. However, I cannot forgive Konami for a game that is BROKEN!
@201,
well kaiser, perhaps you were playing in amateur mode,
because when you play fifa09 in world class or legendary mode,
chances on goal are really limited, besides it gives you 3 option to control passes,
shooting, crossing, and lobs, and those are 1.assisted, 2.semi assited, 3.manual
(by the ai obviously). Now its true what you say about KONAMI still being a step ahead,
the thing that gets me mad and frustrated,
is that they dont take advantage of that and improve the game
in the aspects fifa have done, which will make pes series the ultimate best. dont tell
you dont secretly whish that pes had all the features that fifa depends on to step closer
to KONAMI’s pes09, becuase you will be lying.
@207,
thats the things that i am talking about, those little thing add upon each other
and they become ultimately big issues, i agree with manu4ever
@212 @221
agree with that also, you see my fellow “once again dissapointed pes lovers”, its clear
that KONAMI is feeling the pressure from EA. otherwise if they were still confident
about the product they are giving us, the wouldnt have mind the date of release and would
have given us a completed game, without all these “band-aids”
@225
FOOTIEMAD i feel you completely, that is what this post is all about, about the feel
that KONAMI is not really putting a slight effort in the tittle that is supporting
the company
well overall i dont want to be seen as a pesimist and the kind of person only sees
the negative aspects of something, unlike that, i am a deep pes fan and thats why
iam making this sort of post lately, because i know the game i love can be a lot better,
and well i have the bad feeling that someone is messing with their fans.
please KONAMI, fifa09 is A GREAT GREAT GREAT game, but i like(or liked) yours better,
please dont leave EA without competition, but most important, dont leave real
football lovers without REAL PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER / WINNIG ELEVEN / INTERNATIONAL
SUPPER STAR SOCCER.
