PES 2009 Update – The New England Kit

I am not going to spend time copying and pasting any PR comments from Konami or England, and instead just get straight to the point. To coincide with the launch of the new England kit in Saturday’s 4-0 win against Slovakia, Konami have added a free download of the full kit on Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. In the same way you updated the game following the January Transfer Window patch, simply go to System Settings on the main screen, select the download button at the bottom of the page and follow the on screen instructions.
The update also, ”Updates the Stats Of Players” although I have no personal experience of this. If anyone has noticed some of their favourite players increase or decrease in ability, feel free to post a comment in the section below.
Granted, the new kit does look a little bit like a cross between a cricket shirt and something you can pick up in any good supermarket, but this is hardly Konami’s fault, and it should be said that little perks like this are welcomed.

Why not just take him out completely? He is retired after all. Same with Bernd Schneider at Germany, he retired 3 years ago!! Also why bring out an update a month after the last when the only thing is one new kit? If they would bother their arses and do a bit of research they could of updated a few countires kits. Off the top of my head Scotland and Spain have new kits.

I rediscovered PES on PS2 PES 2008 is amazing!! shame on the next-gen stuff. Even if they include an update of a golder underwear that messi can run around with, Im not gonna waste my time with the game.
PS3 and PES09 is on the way out of my home. PES2010 is going to be no different.

It is only one kit, and some stat changes…
This year KONAMI seems to care about pes2009, thats why all these updates.I would prefer ofcourse to fix the online issue instead of the new kit of England.I hope that pes2010 would be a perfect game.

You could have told everyone that they need to restart the game in order for the update to be installed correctly.
not everyone knows how to install these weird konami updates…
Konami, instead of giving us little updates which to me arent important, maybe you should be concentrating on making pes 2010 a half decent game at least.
Besides the new england kit will be featured in pes 2010 anyways, just get down to business with pes 2010 seabass and co.

I’m a Scot and couldn’t give a toss about the England team but I did download the new update… I think it’s great that Konami are providing these patches. Hopefully they’ll develop and improve next year and we’ll get more comprehensive ones that include proper squad updates for international teams. I recently updated all the UK national teams and Ireland and of course the patch returns those teams to default. Ironic that the England kit is correct but the squad isn’t (Michael Owen, etc.)!
And PLEASE can we have updates that don’t reset Teams A to R. What is the point of these teams if Konami keep setting to default every player to bald, 70, 70, 70… etc?

It’s the 4th update, meaning most people have done it 4 times now.
It’s not hard, maybe if people like you man up and figure things out for yourself rather than being led by the hand at every turn.
i’d say this latest update is more to do with Umbro’s marketing plan than konami’s good nature
So ,they have an update on a new kit,as rightly pointed out,something that would have occoured naturally come the next installation.They have implemented players that should have been there in the first place, but it is deemed as a step in the right direction.The latter had been requested by many in the course of the last few months,in the way of guidjohnsen back in the fold,so they indeed appear .But I bet every single PES2009 gamer would overlook this for the repair of the online mode.This is the one aspect of the game that has been faulty from day one and has never been addressed,but Konami have failed to acknowledge that there is something wrong.When has there been a worldwide apology from Konami for this.Are they still adamant that there is nothing wrong,because day in day out you see people online complaining that the online mode is faulty,so it is not just me ,or not just in this country either,it seems to be worldwide,well certainoly in Europe .Just because they are working on a new game allegedlly,does it mean they neglect the current issue. In this day and age it is all about being competitive,not just amongst you or your friends,but a test of your skills worldwide,and that cannot be done ,because of the incompetence of this company.Their reputation is seriously in the balance asthis is not the first time this issue has arisen,but I

And I am one of these people that is not afraid to express my view,and I do so regurlarly online,but coincedentally,whenever I do so ,it always seems that I can no longer rack up a win ,as I feel that this is them dishing out some kind of punishment to me.It doesnt matter who I play ,lower or higher ranked opponents,the result is the same ,where they will score regardless,and I seem to miss sitters,hence I am on a losing streak.It seems you get punished for speaking the truth
Running past the keeper seems to be a lot harder, I have had a couple of players try it against me and the keeper acted a lot better, narrowing the angle rather than just running to the penalty spot.
@16 you are so right about the online mode.My rate is 780 and if i play with someone whos rate is 670 i will loose 28 points but he’ll take only 12!!!!! The rest of the points i don’t know where we can find them.The worst of the case is (ecxept of course the eternal lagging issue) that the game is helping the “670″ rate player to score more easily than me and its very easy for him to win the game (UNBELEAVABLE)!!!.This situation took place after the second patch of the game (february update) and its so difficult to reach 800 or 900 points anymore.Only cheaters can.
How come I can’t change my name to DA SILVA on the Croatian kit and keep the EDUARDO name on the Arsenal kit?
When I change it to DA SILVA on the Croatian kit, the Arsenal kit also changes to DA SILVA!
How can I fix this?
what about the update so we can play 2player leagues and cups without the computer being involed
was only thinkin while i was watching the game that the kit needs changing, thanks konami, finally giving a little back to the people that matter!

i know its taken some time for konami to start listening to us but it isnt a case of too little too late in my opinion just the shape of things to come! (hopefully)

the update is a lazy effort, the england kit is incorrect as the number is displayed on the front. Also Owen is still in the squad. Why dont Konami spend their efforts improving the online issues with the game instead of providing irrelevant updates.
Konami can fixed the online on this game, and I still am dissapointed at the gameplay, it feels a bit loose this year.hopefully they improve gameplay first then online, my opinion.
I personally think the new kit is old fashioned.
It’s nice but I prefer the other kit. This one looks like its from the 1900’s and its too simple.

honestly the kit looks like a piece of **** in real life id say its more of a school P.E kit but i aint going on pes 2009 to just do that when i dont play the game

Yeah I get the same error code when I tried to download the update for my 360! It’s really annoying – I’ve not had problems with the updates before…we can’t be the only ones…
ok guys got the same error…..
this is what you have to do….
you have to delete the PES 2009 folder of your xbox360 hard drive.
if you have an option file with kits that you dont want to loose move it to your memory card first.
then start up pes and make a new option file then go to system settings the download the update it should work.
its a pain in the arse but its the only way.
now all you have to do is move your option file back to the xbox360 hard drive and your in business.
Will downloading this erase the option file I got a while back with all the Premier League kits on it or just overwrite the old England kit with the new one?

scotlands new kit is only the away kit, the home kit is already in the game
I have to admit my patience is runnng very low with pes 2009 xbox360 online. As I play more games noticing many faults online:-(.. Ghost players vanishing and the reappearing, lag. Players making red card tackles when I have instructed them to make a soft block tackle. The biggest annoyance is that I’m starting to play games and I’m winning then my opponent quits and then I don’t get me winning points. Another FACT is that if you are the away team regardless if the connection is green on for both players the away player always seems to suffer with a little bit more lag! Only 10% difference but it’s enough to give the home player a clear advantage. very seriously thinking of ditching pro and coverting to FIFA 09 and 2010! Very disgruntled pro player!!!
pes is progessing better then i thought and better then i excepted pes has done soo much better then last year with pes2008 but im just hoping pes2010 will hit the charts later on this year and the update system to me as been great this year and will be even better on pes2010 hopeful.
Love the game, but they really need to sort out the online play, it’s not like they have not had the time too, it has not worked properly since pro 6 what in the hell are they doing there!!!!
Sorry guys I have turned judas and decided to buy FIFA 2009 from Amazon. Should get this next week! Feel I’ve gone against the mighty Sea bass! Played five more online games won four lost one but decided to quit early when was losing 4-1. However fortunately the game never registered. Still had the lag problems and the away player handicap. I installed the update but not noticed any major improvements. I seem to notice that when I’m the home player that my oponents players seem to me struggling. I like winning but would be interesting to find out if other players are finding it difficult to win if they are the away player and if they are also suffering from major lag. Will post my initial feed back on FIFA 2009 next week. Hmv and amazon are selling it for £17.99. Sale of the century!!
The new England kit is crap and was hardly worth the time spent downloading it. They could have added a few more boot or ball options as well,but,no just that load of dross.
i cannot BELIEVE there are so many of you guys moaning about an update, konami are clearly keeping the game up to date to try and keep fans happier but you guys just want more and more! BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU GET YERKS!

I try and download the update but it gets to 100% then installs it and says download file broken! any ideas ?
I quite like the fact that they do updates, saves me going round and sorting out all the transfers myself. And if you think they’ve made a guy too slow or something just change his stats yourself! My only gripe is that the teams get reset…
And where’s the update to bring base-copy back to the game. My mates and I like to create our ‘dream teams’ and do transfers and stuff. While we can still register the players to our own teams it makes the original team rubbish! Bring back the base-copy so we can make copies of our favourite players and still be able to start a new Champions League or Become A Legend!
ive been playing pes now for years but this is my first year online…how exactly do u get involved in divions?i alwatys see players in,for example “division 3c” beside their name. is it just becuse they are highly ranked or can u get involved in this?any help will be appreciated,thanks!
