PSM3 PES2010 First Impressions

Guys

A number of sites have been implicated in posting scans of the new PSM3 magazine article on PES2010, including ourselves.

We were not alone in doing this, as we all crave any and all news about PES2010.  The offending article was removed yesterday afternoon, and by way of apology to the PSM3 bods, we would like to advertise the availability of the magazine in question for European gamers.

So a big thanks to Daniel Dawkins, Editor of PSM3, for sharing the following information for you guys:

You can buy copies of our new issue from the online Gamesradar shop, for only £4.99 (the same as the shops) but including delivery to your front door, which extends to Europe. The issues will be in stock on Wednesday, and shipped immediately, so – post allowing – you’ll get it as soon as possible. The website previously said this issue was ‘sold out’, but this is no longer the case.

If anyone is interested in buying the issue from *outside* Europe… follow the information below:

We deliver worldwide, and postage and packaging costs are included in the price. If you would like delivery to outside of Europe, then we are currently unable to accept your order online. However, there are 2 alternative ways to order:

You can contact us by Phone on +44 (0)1858 438794. Our Call Centre is open 8am to 9.30pm Monday to Friday inclusive and 8am to 4pm on Saturday (GMT)

You can also contact us by Fax on +44 (0)1858 468969. Please include the magazine and issue name you require, your full address details and recipient address if different, along with your card details, and card expiry date.

Please contact future@subscription.co.uk <mailto:future@subscription.co.uk>  if any queries, but please do not supply your payment details on email.

Daniel has also pointed out that they will be making further material available via their blog on www.psm3mag.com later this week (probably Friday) which didn’t quite make the article in the magazine.

Cheers

You haven’t even played it yet!! And the article said they were only playing a 50% complete version, so a lot may still change come Oct.

Lets have a bit of possitivity shall we? At least it sounds like there starting to implement a few of our ideas :-)

The Wii version of PES 2010 will be out this autumn – around the same time as the high-end console versions, bucking the trend of previous Wii releases which lagged months behind.

There’s no specific date for any version yet, Konami sticking to autumn for every format, but it does insinuate the Wii version will arrive shortly after other versions saying it’ll follow “hot on the heels of its next-gen stable mates”.

    Here’s the full release:

“PES 2010 for the Nintendo format will share the cover stars in Lionel Messi and Fernando Torres. And will also boast the extensive additions to the Master League via the integration of UEFA Champions League license elements, while the Wii game’s graphic elements have been further enhanced. However, Producer Akiyoshi ‘Greyhound’ Chosogabe and his dedicated team have also worked to add key gameplay advances to the new iteration.

“Likewise, a decisive addition to PES 2010 is an all-new game balance system that affects both attacking and defensive elements of the game. The player in possession now has ‘instantaneous stamina’ in addition to his overall stamina, which prevents unbeatable runs from being used as a constant tactic. Overuse of sprinting will have an adverse affect on the player’s body balance and their immediate control of the ball. As in a real match, excessive attempts of trying to gain possession will drain the player’s stamina, further demonstrating the Wii game’s realism.

“Proper and timely controls within the context of match have also be given more importance. More fine and strategic controls have been given more significance, and an attacking player with the ball can perform various ‘AI feints’ to bypass the opposition defenders while dribbling – but is in accordance with the player’s abilities. Defenders will also have to think of which areas to close down from, and work with other players to reduce the space attackers have.

“Greyhound has also worked hard on a new free kick system, wherein these set pieces are now viewed from the kicker’s perspective and targeted using a pointer system, allowing users to add swerve and additional pace to their kicks, dependent on the taker’s abilities. This level of control even allows players to move their keeper earlier in a in a match against human player.

“New animations will see players signaling for passes, and the slickest animation in a PES title on Wii yet, while the Champions Road and Master “League modes mark a welcome return again. “The stakes have been raised and PES 2010 for Wii shows that Konami can still innovate and surprise,” commented Akiyoshi ‘Greyhound’ Chosogabe. “Our control system for Wii is still regarded as the finest and most intuitive around, and we have once again reworked it to add a level of control and realism that can appeal to new and old PES fans alike.”

I’m buying Wii this week end !! :)

  6. Dopecoil Says:

Rubbish article, very thin on the ground when it comes to information and the usual lots of enlarged pictures everybody has already seen on the net.

Does nothing but upset pes fans as any key changes or revolutionary step forwards will be the other 50% not even mentioned.

  7. SUPER-PES Says:

how do get to see the article pls?

  8. mn9ajas Says:

For those of you that haven’t read the article for £4.99 I wouldn’t bother. As other people have eluded to it covered the usual fanfare of ‘updated’ nonsense and didn’t really go in depth on the new features.

The two best things in the article for me were:

    1) The new sliders for enhancing your team set up actually seem to work (unlike Fifa 09’s) and
    2) The master league now has real currency and has added the champs league and UEFA cup (or whatever it is called now) into it

The article was trying to be optimistic, however, reading between the lines it didn’t sound as though they were raving about the game too much.

  9. mn9ajas Says:

Baska @ 5 Don’t buy a Wii just for PES – you will be sorely disappointed!! I won the competition on here a while back for a copy of 09 and although it was better than 08 the new game play is completely let down by the zoomed out camera and poor graphics, making it very hard to play.

I did write an review of it but think Dougie may be holding it back whilst konami are still watching the site for ideas. Not sure that it would go down too well a slating review! ;)
