PES 2010: Master League Evolves

Konami reveals expanded managerial elements, including new fiscal, sponsorship, and youth team elements
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has outlined significant advances to the Master League section of its forthcoming PES 2010 title.
Master League has proven one of the key attributes to the PES series’ longevity, and PES 2010 will introduce a number of new elements that will contribute to the overall realism and lasting appeal of the new game.
On selecting the Master League option, players are now presented with a menu split into three areas: ‘Club House’, ‘Stadium Walk’, and ‘Office’. Each of these is an umbrella for different parts of a manager’s role, with ‘Club House’ used for tactical and match day options, ‘Stadium Walk’ for main game settings, and ‘Office’ for scouting and player acquisition dealings.
The in-game menus are now much simpler to navigate, and players can jump between the three areas with ease. The Club House element has also seen the creation of an all-new Youth Team section, which works alongside the first team squad. As the game progresses, the player can opt to invest in talented members of their youth team to fast-track their development. This burgeoning talent can then be introduced into the first team, as with so many real-life ‘academies.’
The Office area is where all transfer and financial dealings take place. Real currency is now used in PES 2010, and additional monetary routes are also available. Sponsorships can now be negotiated, with player securing big money deals with companies that can be used to invest in the team and youth set-up. Results on field affect the direct value of the club tio interested parties, and fan clubs are also used as a barometer of the club’s success.

That presentation looks soooo awesome, and the news about sponsorship and youth team is great :D
just give me the chance to finally switch teams and we will be getting somewhere
sounds fantastic.
I must admit the youth team system is a great addition, hopefully the ranking system in general have been revamped completely, since the ranking system was the reason the development of any non-attacking players (DMF, SB, CB etc.) was terrible.
I’m not at all excited about the sponsorhip thing, it is going to change nothing at all. The usual money you get after a match and at the end of a season in previous additions of PES has just been switched to sponsors giving you the same money in the same situations, so nothing new and not an addition at all.
For a moment when I read “stadium walk” I got excited that a stadium creator was implemented, that would have blown the roof off, but was sad to see that is just general settings.
Jeepers! Minanda has had a tough paper round!!! He’s the oldest looking 15 year old since Wayne Rooney!
Does this mean in stadium walk we can set the weather for the next match etc ? that would be good
I agree with comment #1, that presentation is brilliant.
Actually….. this is the most and first priority improvement that i wanna see for pes 2010…
It’s really get me excited.
Real currency – yay!
Can’t wait!
Hopefully you can add Other League B teams & the leagues you start in are organised instead of a mish-mash of European clubs. (Like on the PS2, you can arrange the Leagues how you want.)
Please, Please, please make it possible for me to get offers from other teams to manage them and you have sealed a sale of the game with me! That will give ML more longevity than ever before.
Also, if they introduce 2nd divisions for each league, increase the number of leagues by at least three, and make league cup tournaments that involve all teams in both divisions then it’s PES 2010 FTW!
If i don’t have the above then i’m def buying the other game. :(
i dont see anything new, except better presentation (not a new feature), easier to navigate menus (not a new feature) and the “all new” youth team is not really that new…. it was in previous versions, just not a separate part. they just organised things into the office (old negotiations), stadium walk (old game settings) and clubhouse (old formation)… the only good thing is the currency instead of pes pts.
I think Konami Have Finally Cracked It!! I Just Love The Look Of The New ML. Let’s Hope It Plays As Well As It Looks!!:)
Nicee Well Done!! know we can work with the 94 milion euro´s of christiano ronaldo:p And now the music i hope there is some real music like kanye west lil wayne rick ross joung jeezy or that we can put are own music.
Why is the writing in the game pink?
ahmad jun inghad kos nagu
Amazing, I love the fact that you can have a Youth team now!
This is really exciting news!
Yea i agree with number 11
if they can pull that one off.. i will be definatly copping the game
THIS REALLY LOOKS PROMISING! Keep up the good work konami.
@ seantkd
if you wanna switch teams go back to fifa.. or create another master league, you’re one of those chops that never got it hope now you do.
this is looking good!! (”,)
Just yesterday while playing ML on 2009, i wondered how amazing it would be if i could have games just for my up and coming stars. Just imagine my joy when i read this :) :) :) :) a youth system? AMAZING.
I’m not sure about the whole sponsorship thing? Unless its sponsorship of the team, it will start to make things a bit complicated if each player can get sponsorship. I’m assuming by player they mean ‘us’.
I lOVE THE MASTER LEAGUE AND IT’S ABOUT TO GET BETTER! :)
The master league looks well improved from last year. Hope its not a flop again! finally we get the real currency! not to keen on the sponsership deals, they could of used the time for that on any other aspect of improvement thats more important. I hope the defenders dont get sent off all the time without me pushing the tackle button! that was the worst thing about pes 2009, hopefully this will be improved. Does any1 know what licensed teams will be in the game? dont tell me its just liverpool n barcelona?!
Don’t get me wrong, I think that the overhaul of the Master League is amazing and it looks more absorbing than ever, but does anyone think that this huge focus on an offline element of the game will be to soften the blow when the online element is still poor.
Once again, not trying to be negative as I can’t wait to play the new master league but just hoping and praying that the online side of the game is fixed!
They need to get rid of that stupid become a legend mode its pointless! its all about the master league where you build a real team not an individual player.
@ 25 brucie,
your rite, the online version of the game has been really poor over the past few years compared to FIFA. Apparently konami have now dropped the konmai-IDs online so i think it will be an automatical sign in like fifa uses. hopefully they should work on the online mode a bit more aswel but they have probably made the master league their highest priority
You can’t argue that the aesthetics of the ML layout have been greatly improved. I like the fact that they’ve gone for a more professional, modern approach rather than all the American/Japanese ‘fan-based’ layout which to me was fairly soul destroying. The Youth System seems like a promising implementation and it will be interesting to see how much you can actually interact with it. Obviously the addition of real currency is a desperately necessary inclusion which fans have been looking forward to for some time now. However I do agree with comment #12 to some extent, in the sense that perhaps its too early to get overly excited just yet. The only attribute which I think most fans would agree is missing, as mentioned early in comments #11 & #18, is the option to move clubs. I’m sure this will be an ongoing talking point in-house at Konami and hopefully, at some stage, the fans will get their wish! Other than that, the improvements do look intriguing and they are most definately a step in the right direction.
Sounds fantastic indeed. I also would like to see the option for the manager to be approached by other clubs so that you don’t have to stick with the same team all the time. This is a great step in the right direction though
1) Option to move clubs AND
2)full divisions (a 2nd division in all leagues) &
3) the option to make your own leagues without mingling half Europe in all of them (at least 6, 4 was too few) AND
3) implementation of EURO CUP & CL (for the right positions, dont want team that finished 6th in the CL) implemented and
THEN I will really get excited!
This news looks promising, but apart from the youtgh academy & real currency, its mainly the same concept, just in a different jacket.
Get the things mentioned above right & youve got yourself a winner Konami, otherwise youll end up in the not fullfilled promises department again.
Don’t some of you people know any thing about business look up double fusion its a marketing company that advertises businesses if you decide to buy pes 2010 master league is coincided with this KONAMI are not stupid they got you guy hooked for years they are pulling out all the stops to ensure titles themselves it hurt seabass when FIFA collected so many awards ,he whats them back and he wants to deliver the best FOOTBALL SIMULATION EVER and i think he has done that congratulations
-qualifying rounds before the entry in tha champions league groups and europa league groubs!
WE NEED MORE REALISM!
I m fun of PES but i accept Fifa has more realism to the game :(
-the retired player not born again and you see Van Der Sar 17 years old!!!!!
sorry for my english! :)
-realistic calls for the national teams!
one question or suggestion
are the youth team real players or all the teams have the same players???
Great news on the youth system! I’ll be interested to see how they implement it though eg – will they let you buy young players and play them in youth system or do they just get created by the computer? can you play youth matches yourself? etc
Glad to see the money system has had an overhaul :) I really hope it’s more realistic this time eg – you get big money for getting to Champs lg and you don’t get same money if you play against Fulham compared to Man Utd. It should be on size of stadium and crowd affecting ticket sales income.
Overall, this looks very promising though. Bring on PES 2010!!!
All looks and sounds sounds very nice, although mostly appears to be window dressing.
Questions remain; Job offers? Number of leagues? Can we use created teams in ML? Are the qualifying places for European competitions relative to their respective national criteria?
Youth team being back is a big plus for me as I tend to build all of my teams around young players.
Almost all of my play time with PES is in ML, so, pleased to see some work done in this area.
Just waiting for news on edit modes now, any real news out there about edit mode yet?
wt they should also implement is when starting out in the ML with a new foster team like castolo etc…the amount of fans attending the matches untill u become a sucess and win trophies like man utd the more atttendence u obtain thus making more attraction to obtaining big name shirt sales, such as nike etc. and it will also influence the players loyality metre to want to stay with a club due to the fans attendence which leads to more money for the club
THEY NEED TO ADD FORCE FEEDBACK FROM NOW ON LIKE HOW FIFA 09 IS WHEN YOU HIT THE CROSS BAR OR WHEN TAKING A PENALTY AND KONAMI PLEASE ADD TROPHIES FROM NOW ON…YOU WOULD NEVER THINK THAT THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT MAD METAL GEAR SOLID 4.
The youth system sounds promising, will be good to have the ability to develope players and filter them through into the first team, the way arsenal do.
The presentation does look tidy, even if it does look similar to FIFA – but then FIFA’s menu’s and presentation have always been better than PES, lets just hope that the cheesy euro pop has gone this time round! “FOOTBALL…SOCCER…FOOTBALL…SOCCER…THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL..!!” hahaha come on konami get some liscensed music in there and variety too.
It would also add realism if we could be offered managerial jobs at other clubs, depending on how successful we were. (this has already been mentioned above a few times)
they need to make it more of a challenge to play cause after two season i can go a hole season and win all my league matches with out losing or drawing a game and that’s playing on the hardest level. plus the top four team’s lose to many matches they should only lose like three or five games in a season.
All looks and sounds great i cant wait i think it will be PES’s year this year.
What made me happy was that in 1 of the screenshots, you can see “ranking 18th” in D2.
That means a FULL 2nd division, not 8 or 12 teams like usual…more realism! Now hope EVERY league has a 2nd division that you can alter yourself, dont want Calgiari or Olympiakos get promoted to the premier league once again…..
they should make at least 3 divisions…which will pro-long the lifeline of the game as ML is to easy to make a team which will win every match which has no challenge…and perhaps they could implement challenges through out the game as in score 3 goals and so on…
@ 43 MagicRoma
I hadn’t noticed that 18th place in Div 2. That’s even better news. Even if there aren’t 3 divs in this years game a 20 team div 2 will be a lot better than the last few years 8 or 12 team ones!! Hopefully there’ll be a few more nice surprises to come.
I like the youth teams idea more than anything. I hope that means we can play the youth team games ourselves, though I suspect that it just means we can invest in them through virtual development. It will also add a lot to BAL, since what it will likely mean is that instead of playing inter-squad matches when you’re a rookie, you will hopefully actually play in a reserves/youth league against other clubs.
Good spot MagicRoma. Now, can we pack the leagues with created teams?
I dont agree with a number of you regarding being offered managerial jobs at other clubs. Would that not be Football/Championship Manager’esque?
cant wait
I love dogheads and penguins. No mention if they are licensed or if you can add them to your youth team. God I hope so. I love dongs.
I like how Minanda is 25 years younger than normal. Pretty excited about the youth system, since I’ve always been quite into the management side of PES. Just need to scrap the 8-way control, and we might have a top footy game on our hands. Make it happen Konami!
Unfortunately it looks like the youth team is the ML Default team, only younger. It looks like Konami have copied a bit from Fifa’s manager mode but otherwise it looks promising.
Master league is ****. unrealistic format, why cant it be like a next gen version of sensible world of soccer? that was out 15+ years ago and still has more depth than this crap! konami have got a cheek to call pes a sim. just fix the online and let us create our own leagues in the forums with transfer windows etc.

i hear on psm3 magazine (8 page spread) that the german league is making a return the stated that bouldly but have not heard this any where with a lisenced teams and updating all nation teams ad ading more detail to smaller teams. had any else herd this. and if any one can scan or show me a read out of the mag that would be good thank you
thats was cool for though who will buy this up.i don’t buy it coz is been seen before and i know nothing new about this features,so what r konami trying to trick right now?.why his konami taking us for granted why?.
football…soccer…football…soccer…..the greatest game of all is the BEST SONG OF ALL! How dare you blaspheme on comment 40, Kazakh Soccer Foundation!
It’s about time they did something creative with the Master League. Time for konami to step up their game
looks good cant wait
ABOUT TIME…
The ML still needs full divisions & the option to edit your own leagues to avoid licensing issues
Also needs EURO CUP & CL implemented correctly or in a fashion that you can edit (again to avoid licensing issues)
Apart from the youth academy & real currency which is no big effort the rest is just window dressing.
im moist & wet with anticipation, but:
- let teams playing away games have a 10% performance hit; otherwise home vs away makes no difference!!!
- let negotiations mirror the real world.
- let the perforamce of the AI teams maintain their level after a 20 year life span
… im very impressed so far
I have so much idea for this new game i will put in.
PES 2010 MUST give real soccer player(professional) a chance to test the game and say what they think?
I hope this game will be a better game then fifa 10.
News – the Kazakh release of PES 2010 will feature Zhambyl Kukeyev and Tanat Nusrbayev as cover stars
I agree with no.39.Konami please add trophies for the ps3. Thank you!
[...] Link [...]
The menu setup looks good, but the background is awful. When will konami give us a nice theme for our menu’s etc instead of these ugly, harsh on the eye designs!!!!!!
and @ post 63 by Kazakh – do they even have a specific release of PES in Kazakhstan? If Kazakh players are not in the game then i doubt they’d be on the cover art. May be wrong…
to poster not anonymos, ye we hav kazakh release, to go along with the kazakh soccer field which will be in the kazakh release, Northern Fence Field. It a fantastic!
Looks Great, I hope they add the ability to have a friend join your master league from over the internet and play with you.
me think that new master league should include kazakh stars Zhambyl Kukeyev and Tanat Nusrbayev as notassigned player, they ar fantastic! Kukeyev is very stong and fast, and very powerful header. Nusrbayev is very slow but fantastic shooting, like frank lampard and dribble like lio messi – he a fantastic super star player. If messi, ronaldo, kaka are in game, why not include other big stars like kazakh stars Zhambyl Kukeyev and Tanat Nusrbayev.
Please Konami give us a real representation of real footballing star supers by including big players even if they are from small (but great) nations, such as the beuitiful nation of kazakhstan who follow the hawk.
Be fairs konamis!!!
Anyones agree withs me?
looking good…
as regards to the sponsorship thing, would company logos appear on kits? and has the edit mode got even better and more detailed?
theres a spelling mistake in second screen, it says 3th instead of 3rd.
excellent stuff cant wait to start playing PES again abit bored of fifa.
Can anyone tell me if we are getting more leagues like bundesliga ???
Looks good ‘cept for one thing:
Bring back EDDINGTON (Eddingson in last games)
bundesliga is back!!!!!
Game looks great
how do you know bundesliga is back
one word = BUZZIN
cany wait now
Because it on the german website ,my uncle is from Hamberg and he told me.
im reading in he pesfan forums and wenbs forums that the 2 teams at the are actually german teams if this is true then this is great news i dond care if they are not licenced i can do that myself thats what pro evo is alll about we will now have 6 leagues then we can we have in the master league 3 divisions where you start from division 3 and move your way up.
the editing options best be in pes2010 aswell i want the option to edit the boots again like in pes6 and to edit my own team kit on my master league i have to say that pes2010 is looking very good

football…soccer…football…soccer…..the greatest game of all HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHH I remember that cheese song its was very addictive tho
wooohoo i love it already :)
the sponsorships with bonus goals.. should make reaching goals a lot more fun!
and the interface graphics are great, too :)
Looks great! but we do need the ability to switch teams throughout a season. But everthin else is spot on!!
this is exactly wot we were all saying a year ago about pes 2009 and that turned out sh!t. all the screenshots look great but the gameplay might still be the same. maybe its becus they spent more time working on MGS4 last year that they didnt put all the effort in pes 2009. pes 2010 better be good.
i hope konami get in touch with reality this times, we want women soccers in game, this will be a fantastic! A bisexual world cup final USA women vs. Spain men would be great to play, USA might even win! Wooaahh this would be great success and make fan base bigger with womens starting to play!
@Scotty Bellend
You copy and paste my post from other article comments, think of your own thing to write instead of stealing my goods ideas ok. You must be a FIFA fans to do this you idiot
Womens socer in PES my idea, my GREAT idea so dont steals!!!!!!!!!!!
evidence of the german league and some more things also my friend told me the boots are gong to afect how you play a bit (psm3)
TYPE PES 2010 INTO WIKIPEDIA AND IT GIVES YOU THE LISTS OF TEAMS, COUNTRIES AND STADIUMS WHICH ARE SO-FAR REGISTERED…
womens football is a ****e idea anyway, whoever came up with that! Im generlly excited, after the past disapointments of the last two-three years. I havn’t felt this way for a long time. The buzz is back and im gagging for more info on this game. The masterleague improvement was long overdue, lets face it. But overall, its a step in the right direction and i believe konami are finally listening to us, the fans! I hope the gameplay lives up to the hype. I guess we won’t know until we ourselves, get a hands on demo. I think its make or break for pro this year. Deliver like we know you can!
Stadiums I would like (pray and hope) to see in the game. Please free to add which stadiums you would like, wish or hope to see now or down the road. *Wishfully thinking of course on my part* ;) I think I should probably get Fifa.

did they add more league & their lower team division
Im quite impressed with whats been mentioned here tbh as im someone that spends almost all of my PES jam time in ML or BAL mode. The few improvements regarding the ML seem like they could make it a bit more interesting overall anyway.
The youth team system could go either way imo though. If they’ve made it with some depth it could be a great addition, but if its just been banged out and lacking any real depth and reality, or comes across as very scripted then i think it will just be something else for people to pick holes at and moan about really.
The addition of real currency is something that has been needed for a long long time but surely cannot have been hard to impliment, so as much as im very happy to see it finally included, my mindset is more like..its about time they did this as money is a consistantly important thing in ML and dealing with real currency will certainly add to the realism without taking up any real development time…its always been a no brainer to include it really so only Konami knows why they didnt add it before.
Im very pleased to see someone pointed out that one of the pics shows the user in D2 and ranked 18th, as along with many others i’ll be glad that it’ll be a full 2nd division and i hopefully wont have to include random teams to fill in the gaps resulting in out of place teams always entering the 1st division at some point. Im also hoping this means there will be proper 2nd divisions for their respective leagues…probably not licenced i guess, but just to be included would be a massive bonus all around imo.
Reading all there is to be read and looking at the pics regarding these changes and additions i do feel Konami are copying Fifa to a certain degree but thats fine with me because if they keep copying each other to improve their own games by using pre-proven positive things then both companies and us, the fans of the games are in a win, win situation really. They help each other to get bigger and better in an indirect way…we start getting 2 great football games with very few bad points while still having a certain individuality to them. That cant be a bad thing really.
Hopefully this and the previous news are just the start of some really positive inclusions and improvements to PES2010. I hope this is not basically all its gonna be when finished. Tbh, I for one will be really glad to be able to say Konami are back on form and have hit the mark with this one once released so im crossing my fingers that they can pull it off this year.
as many said give us the chance to finally switch teams and we will be getting somewhere…and also 2nd an 3rd divisions in the other Leagues and it would an 8/9 point game
and also important and one of the weaks points of PES is that need more stadiums and to improve the fields, most of them are really unreal!!
The addition of real currency sounds good, as long as it is well implemented. It would be cool if a players price tag goes up depending on how much money clubs are spending on similar players. Hopefully the ability to transfer list or loan players has been included. Also you should be able to offer money plus a player or money plus a loaned player or arrange a friendly or x amount of money during x amount of months, when trying to sign other players. It would be good to see other clubs interested in signing you as a manager. if you leave for another club your old club (even if its been created) should remain in the game.
You could have more interactions with players in your team. Maybe they could have a affection rating towards you. therefore if you at some time leave the club, players with a high affection rating towards you, would be willing to follow you to your new club if you wish to sign them. An option of playing as player/manager could also be interesting. That way you could create yourself and participate in the match as well. (this does happen in real football)
This is starting to look nice. I like the ideas behind it all.
My only is that they (re)make the ML as in PES6 instead of the PES2009 version. I want the possibility to put my own set of teams in it and play a ML with them as the game itself only has 3 Belgian teams (in 2009, earlier versions only had 2)
keeping my fingers crossed.
:D
i want pes 2010
FAHAD
I don’t know why people think the presentation is awesome. those pink colour look like it’s something designed for homosexuals.
ok PEOP!!!! LOOK at the goalkeepers!!! just the same as last year!! WHAT THE FUC@!!! r u peop on..its relly looking good..but i did not see one good save of the keeper!! ow my god a bad game ones agn..KEEPERS…KEEPERS…KEEPERs…have a play with the ps2..and tel me how good the KEEPERS r on the ps2..one..looks like the KEEPERs r going to be bad ones AGAN!!!!!!!! :( sad days ones agan for pro evo 2010!! looks like fifa got it sport on this year..i hav been a pro fan for a long time..but i hav been on the PS2 becos it plays like football!!!!

pes 10 luks sik the master league is gonna be the best
woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I Think it is a good Game.
can anyone reply on here for me answering this question please.. ‘how do you play online with your master league team?’ many thanks.
the game isn’t like you thought. master leaugue is awsome but you havn’t got much money. (sorry for my language)
why is it so difficult to sign big players.. can’t we adjust the amount of the transfer fee for the signings?
One question friend.. How do to raise the affection of our players in master league? I think so difficult..
pes 2010 has good features that need to be kept in on pes 2011 such as seeing the trophies on the champions league and the europa league but get all the clubs in england and spain with proper name and proper badge and proper kit like they have done with french leage and the italian league and use the proper names for the leagues like Barclays Premier League and La Liga. Also put the trophies in on all the leagues like put the proper la liga trophie if you win the league on become a legend and the masters league. You also need more stadiums like they have on fifa, the boots are very good on become a legend alot better than fifa.
I would love to see these features on pes 2011 :)
