Once again someone has got up my nose with their comments left last week. This time it is the turn of a certain Deadweather. He clearly has issues with the online side of the game, but seems to deem it acceptable to have a pop at me and Dan. Normally I just get rid of comments when they are rude/offensive, but yet again he has a genuine concern, but lacks the manners and decency to raise his issue respectfully. So on that basis I’m not going to address his problem.
That would be the sensible thing to do, given the respect he has shown us guys, but we’re more than capable of conducting ourselves in a mature manner. Just because you have the freedom to express yourself however you see fit, does not mean you should get offensive. We don’t ask for recognition or praise, but at the same time we won’t tolerate abuse. You’re one more dodgy comment away from a straight ban from this site mate.
Anyway, on to the issue of online play. I would be interested in knowing just how widespread this issue actually is.
Basically I would say that online issues seem to be sporadic with people. We don’t have the widespread online problems as associated with PES2009, but there still are areas where people are not getting decent games.
We would like to know the types of issues you are getting, along with the country you are from which may help to build a better picture. I believe the lag issues of old (teleporting players, juttery action, ball all over the place) are not seen as much, but response lag is the main culprit. Please do leave comments describing the nature of the issues, so that we can attempt to get some feedback from Konami on what they intend to do to address our issues.
It’s fair to say that we have no such general issues with online play with most others games, so this is something that konami need to pay more attention to. There was plenty of noise being made pre-launch about online play being sorted, so let’s get across the extent of the problems to Konmai. It will be interesting to hear the common types of complaints you guys have out there.
Personally speaking, I have yet to fully explore the online game, but will be very shortly launching our very first online tournament via www.pesrankings.com. This tournament will be on the PS3 only initially whilst we get used to running online competitions, so expect many more events moving forward should this turn out to be a success.
In fact, I’ve just thought that if there are people who are willing to play me on the PS3 just to see how we get on, then I’d very up for that. I’m in London, and so would appreciate people getting in touch from around the UK, Europe and beyond. This will be a very good test of seeing how well the game performs, and I will be making a note of the status of games to report back. So if you’re interested in partaking, please email me at my usual address, and we’ll try to arrange some mutual times to play.
I should also state that the primary reason I haven’t played online all that much is because I am going nuts on the Master League mode, which I am finding all consuming! The game’s depth is just amazing, and I’m loving it!

I haven’t had a problem with online at all. No lag, no button delay.
I only play people with gree or yellow connections, always avoid red.
The only problem is people using Real and Barca non stop and all employing the same tactics. Give it to Kaka/Ronaldo/Messi (Delete as appropriate!!) and run like the wind

1 in 10 games i get button lag, the rest are fine. Online in my view is great this year.
As for real and barca- drop your defenders back and mark whoever is the biggest threat with a bruiser.

button lag, with cheaters. 3/10. when match started conn was green or yellow, when i scored 2 or 3 goales, conn changed color to red.

As you probably realize by username, I am in the States. I have a UK version and have yet to of had any lag during online play. I cannot say I’ve played more than 20 matches yet. However, it has been lag free up to this point. I do notice that before the match it shows my opponents as Green, or Yellow. Then it usually changes to red after the connection is made, but, once again these matches are lag free.

Offline I find the button lag utterly infuriating.
So i am glad that I have stuck to my guns this year and DIDNT PURCHASE the game until all the reports were in with regards to the online system. Seems that Konami are still wayyyy behind FIFA and way behind what is an acceptable standard. Sorry Mr Seabass, i will keep my money in my own pockets this year….thanks for the game though…its kind of fun 2player in exhibition mode so long as you dont take it too serioulsy.
Apart from that…DD is a good bloke. His posts are interesting and pertinent. If he oversold the merits of the game to begin with then that dont mean that he was lying. PES 2010 is definitely a game with lots of potential for all kinds of thrills and spills. It is however laden with horrible bugs not to mention the ever-present scripting that totally kills the fun in the game when it comes to league mode etc (I play league mode 2 player with Bro using Kitserver to unlock gamepad, so we know very well just how much AI influences game). But it takes a while until these bugs really push there way to the fore and make you realise just how unacceptable a part of the game they are.
PES 2010 is a game that offers bucketloads of thrills and excitement, more so than FIFA, but it deserves its low average 7/10 review scores. Its good, but it really should be a whole lot better. Konami deserve to be kicked down.
regardless of online play, the game is just soooo bad, no wonder sales are 40% down from last year!!

I’m from greece and after the patch and when i play quick match mode i dont have button delay.I have little lag sometimes.When i choose my opponent or someone choose me then 1/10 i experienced button delay 2-3 seconds and it is so furstrating.I have played 120 games and most of them (about 90) were red conection.This guy from KONAMI i think Hatsumi is his name told us that the online mode will be perfect because they found the problem http://uk.games.konami-europe.com/blog.do?blogEntryList.page=2&widget_konami=1&pageSize=10
3 years now its a lot of time to wait.Next year if PES 2011 IS PERFECT nobody will care because we are not going to believe KONAMI again.They had a rare diamond in thei hands and they threw it to gurbbige.
Deadweather you need anger management classes mate! If you’re that angry, 1. why bother playing the game and 2. why bother even going on this website?
The guys running this site put a lot of time and effort in, don’t really need someone as special as you abusing them. I’d love to add some choice words to make my point clearer, but don’t want to lower myself to your level.

button lag, sometimes 5 seconds! Also ive stated in previous blogs changing the quick match filter to english only, as im in england, has no effect and i still end up playing people from elsewhere. i use a wired connection and have emailed konami about the problems . Will be interesting to see what if any response i get.
I am close to snapping my PES 10 disk.
I have 20mg bb, great service, yet with 2 green dots playing, the guest then changes to red mid game, which causes 4/5 sec button delay on passes and shots! Totally unplayable! Its the worst pes yet. I wish i had kept fifa 10 which i swapped on launch even tho it was great. I am a supporter of PES, but every year is the same, furious let down, not fun to play. Unplayable at times. Total letdown. Week 1 was great. What happened!?

Button lag + delay switching players. Lots of stuttering and server disconnections. I just got the game, so I have not played that much, but it is hard to get good matches. I guess it could be my location. Maybe this can be fixed?

@ post 21, dead right, the scripting is infuriating beyond belief, doesn;t stop me playing though cos i’m loving the game, i’m currently in the world cup final as england v brazil, have had 9 attempts and still cant beat them, 0-0 or 1-1 and looking for a winner, not a hope, their keeper saves everything, i hit the post, the bar, cannot score, then with 5 mins to go they turn into the football equivalent of the harlem globetrotters and i cant get the ball off them, then as soon as injury time is announced they rip my defence to shreds and score a cheap stupid goal, aaarrrggghhh, still going back for more though, thats the major difference between pes and fifa, that “just one more game” feel, i gave up with online weeks ago, no point, its fadged up, like regular poster torrent (27) points out, button lag can be as much as 5 seconds, its a long wait for pes 2011 so until then, i’m getting the best out of this edition and loving every minute of it. (apart from online).
Does anyone know if this update on 24th of november is only for the tranfers of the players or is gonna fix the online mode too????????

What is going on?
I have been checking this site out each week for quite some time now, I have not involved myself in any discussions but simply passively observed as I have never felt the need to comment. Finally I felt it relevant to post my first and last post – why?
Never have I been on a site where the content is consistently mundane, where the articles are limited to the repetition of the same 3 points each week with very little variation, where the debates distinctly lack coherence and reasoning and the comments section thrives on hostility.
Why did I keep coming back? I hoped it would change, why I am not coming back, because it didn’t.
If you dont like the game get rid of it, if you do, thats great.

Of course these things will be repeated over and over again as this is all we have to debate over regards PES. Again, what else do you feel we should debate over? I agree tho there are some complete bafoons on this site who wouldnt know a good game if it jumped up and bit their arse!
I am from Australia, great ADSL 2+ connection.
In PES 2009, if I plyed someone from overseas there was massive amounts of the lag encountered in 2009. BUT if I played with someone from Australia, we would have flawless games.
In PES2010, there is button lag when I play someone from overseas AND there is button lag when I play someone from Australia. I played with someone who lives 15km away from me and we both have great connections but the button lag was unbelievable and unplyable!
It makes it frustrating considering how much fun it is to play offline.
Dougie: If you are right or wrong concerning deadweather is not the issue, the point is:
You should NEVER EVER put personal messages in your column, especially not so prominantly at the top!

its like the home team have a 12th man. even the upmph sound of a player after youve taken a knock to the ankles, will not result in a free kick.
Playing from Romania with ppl from all around Europe. I only play green or yellow connections. Almost 100% lag free games. DOn’t see what the fuss is about…

Many fans are very angry this year because certain issues have not been corrected and now we have new issues!
The button LAAAAAAG is annoying this year! I have been loyal PES fan (since PES5) but this is just taking the piss! I have tried fifa 10 for the first time and the difference in game play is amazing! Fia 10 is much more realistic without any lag. What happened PES? I loved PES 5 and 6. But from that point on the series has gone downhill. They claim they are listning to fans, jusging by PES 2010, that is not the case. Sales are dissapointing for PES 2010 and they only have themselves to blame.
I will not buy any more PES till seabass is gone!

Issues for me:
Delay when playing online of anything between 2-4 seconds.
Referee decisions – they are too blind
AI of Goalies – some of the decisions they make are absolutely crazy.
I too am too engrossed in ML that I haven’t had time to play many online matches. What I have played has been without lag though (Canada, eh).
ML is almost too addictive btw. I must have player about 25 matches this weekend…
Anyway, I love not being able to see the players’ future growth curves. It really improves the realism of the whole mode. Also, there is something about the “kind” of games that you get in PES 2010 which is unlike anything I’ve ever played. It could be said that on a lower level the gameplay has imposed AI constraits which are not realistic at all (for example, the defense collapsing, not being able to get shots off in the box to a degree which is too great, not being able to pull of through balls which should be easy, etc). But, in the end, somehow there is an overall aspect of this game which, IMO, they have got spot on. And that’s basically that you never know if you will score or not by making a certain play (which is arguably Fifa 10′s greatest weakness – breakaway, chip shot for example). Of course, there are some plays which are more effective, and again, some of them might be unrealistic (early cross, long shots), but all in all most goals seem to come out of nothing, and point blank chances don’t always result in goals… So you just never know what is going to happen. The results, for me anyway, has been much more thrills and spills (the drama of football) than in previous versions. I feel like I can come back from 2-0, or lose, or draw… be blow out, or blow out a top side.
Obviously the game’s not perfect, but I am really appreciating this factor, and I just hope it doesn’t change as I begin to bring in better players (average overall rating is about 72, playing on top player, using Wolves btw).

okay xbox 360 online play – why when you have a green connection and opposition has red do they say vice versa? i have been messaging all the players i have who I see them as a red connection and they say that they have green and i have red. WHAT THE FUHK IS THIS ABOUT???!?!?!?

Hay-I too love pro 10 but have to agree the online is VERY poor ,I dont even bother with it anymore ,Lag ,disapearing ball and players.USELESS ,When my mate brought Fifa around it was 80% better even with my poor 8meg .The rest of pro is excellent but i too will leave the franchise if they do not stop lieing and adress these problems A S A P_KONAMI…….
