PES Matters 19th December 2009
Posted by dougiedonut in PES 2009 News on Sat 19 Dec
It’s the final article of 2009 from me, and looking back, it’s been quite a year.
PESGaming.com has grown considerably over the past year, with a very strong community contribution which we are very grateful for. We’ve had lots of discussion points and arguments – myself in particular causing a fair few arguments and having to wield the banhammer on plenty of occasions.
PES2010 has had a very mixed reception generally, but i do hope you guys can see progress being made in the game. Perhaps not at the pace many would like, but progress nonetheless. We face a monumental year in 2010 when we will collectively begin and champion the cause all over again.
In spite of the challenges faced by Konami there is a very strong backing from PES hardcore fans for the series. We know what WEP are capable of, and we’re all out to try and help them achieve that. Regular readers will be aware that I’ve stated in the past that we will have to wait until PES2011 for a proper game representative of our expectations, and I stand by that. Last year’s involvement from the top PES fan sites was the first attempt to influence the process. This year we should have what I will term a bit more of a “well-oiled machine” in terms of interaction with Konami.
But we’ve plenty of time to get into the new year’s challenges next year, so for now the message from me is to keep the faith. I’m sure many of you will agree with me that PES2010 is the finest installment in the series to date, and can see that there is unlocked potential that we will be tapping into.
My biggest challenge, with your help, is to help provide as much assistance with the online side of the game as possible. I have set up a community mode called “www.pesgaming.com” which now harbours a total of 10 members. I would like to urge you all to please join the community and let’s gather our collective online experiences for Konami.
We will set up as many community sites as is required to try to give the mode a proper thumping. I have to say that so far my experiences with the online game have been fairly favourable with games. I haven’t experienced much in the way of the dreaded delayed response. So I urge you guys to join the community and play against various people and let’s try to see what the game does for us. I personally can’t complain about the online mode as vociferously if I don’t experience issues, or if people aren’t telling me about their issues. On that note, thank you to the few people who have said that they are experiencing issues, your comments are being recorded for now.
Finally I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a fantastic new year.
Thanks for reading

wohho, thats twice now,,,,1st baby
okay ,im not sure how u can use the term few gamers that are experiencing problems, its actually quite alot.As far as this being the best so far, well that is not true,it may look nioer, but it is actually one of the worst. As mentioned, button delay, unresponsive players ,defenders ,still running aimlessly, regardless of wht slider setting you incorporate, and therefore allowing the special players in all the time .This game unfortunately,is still a polished turd, and I am very dissappointed this year again, like I have been for the last 2 .Certain teams ,and certain players are allowed to express themselves in a way that is unreal to any game ,or gameplay.Every player in fiootball,is able to be tackled, but not n this game.Konami still decide to make tackle resistant players who can dance their way through, regardless of even bein tackled, they will win the 2nd ball. Its very frustrating, and annoying .Konami need to drop this unrealistic attitude toward certain players ,and concentrate on bringing the realism into the game.Online is dissappointing as usual, despite us being told its perfect this year. They need to openn their eyes and ears to what the peoplewant,a near flawless online gaming experience. If they cannot manage this wit the resourses the have internally, then seek advice from an external source on how to do things properly
New DLC out Monday.

@ 2 FOOTIE MAD THE TRUTH.
I totaly agree with you man.As for the new DLC it would be for the champions league competition and it will not fix anything.
(yet) Another thing that bothers me is how well CPU can make counter-attacks with ONE player.
It’s a common situation to me:
I’m attacking and the CPU is defending with 9 players (10, with the goalkeeper) behind the ball;
I attempt a shot which (obviously) is blocked by the CPU players and the bounced ball almost ALWAYS goes to the ONLY player that CPU left on the midfield;
Then, this sole one player can either go past my defenders (usually THREE defenders. So, THREE against ONE) or this ‘Hero’ manages to keep the ball (dribbling, going to one side to another -without me being able to tackle him, no matter how hard I try) until his teammates go forward and then they get a nice counter-attack.
Ok, this kind of situation DOES happen in real football but not 99% of the time!
Konami should improve the AI so that the CPU simply PLAYS WELL and so it will not need ‘cheating’ to win against us players. Just like two (or more) mates playing together.
I’m not the best PES player in the world, I know. But I’m safe to assure that most of my losses are due to handicaping.
(I play on Top Player difficulty, btw)

Thats very true, sometimes they even go through your best defender as if he was not there………….

No its not for the champions league if you check the link again you will see that the champs league will be activated today. Confirmation on what it contains will be revealed soon but what worries me is normally a patch fixes gameplay and not DLC.
Arnookibeast, woopdidoo, 1st again, get a life. Saddo
Thanks for your guys’ work. Enjoy your Christmas. Reality is the Game’s Way. Creating the PES 5 feeling!
@8, oi you knob, don’t you dare call me you little turd, i was having a laugh as many other people do when they get 1st post, i talk a lot of sense on this site but was being daft, sorry if i offended you big man, so you get a life instead of having sex with your mum, you irritating little gimp. Bring it on son.
LOL, nice one arnookibeast, some people can’t have a bit of a laugh, you tell him mate.
i have to say
more licensed leagues
second divisions
more kit designs to choose from
ability to put logos on shorts
cups such as asian cup should let all 16 teams compete not just 8
also
if anyone has played
madden arcade or nhl arcade
pes should do that kind of game
like 5 a side on smaller pitch
Sex with my mum, now now. How about some good talking points to start with instead of getting a hard on being first. Do you get a prize for being first, no. Have sex with my mum saddos or buy fifa.
Fifa 10 is an ok football game, got two mates who have it, (pes deserters) i have had a few sessions of Fifa at their houses, i do enjoy it but it is a very predictable game, easy to score from guaranteed sweet spots and the unrealistic swerve on the ball whenever you put a cross in, as i said, it’s ok for a night of beer and footy but i still believe pes 2010 to be vastly superior in most departments, ok the commentary is at best poor, the refs are blind and the goalies are sometimes caught sleeping on the job, but it always gives me that “just one more game” feeling that i dont think Fifa does, just my opinion, if everybody agreed on everything then we wouldn’t need sites like this would we.
@13, be cool honey bunny, i love ya really, and i did get a prize, wasn’t expecting one but it was delivered this afternoon, a brand new porche 911 turbo, who’d ‘o’ thought it.
Ha, 911, merry crimbo arnookibeast.
merry christmas to you too mate, apologies about earlier, i had a hangover and over reacted to the saddo jibe, i’ll take you for a spin in my 911 to make it up to you, enjoy your evening.
DLC
will be
NEW ZEALAND!!!
With all the perks Fifa is CURRENTLY providing its fan base I see it pointless us looking forward to the next installment and likely the installment after that for the PES game we are looking for.
So what I’m trying to say is that Konami should be providing us with the best game right now, not in 1, 2 or 3 years.

Guys any news about the new DLC today?Does anyone downloaded yet? and what is the new about it?
@ 23 – I just did (interrupt!).
The new patch has…. *mistery*…. up-to-date transfers and amazing new boots!
Yay!
EVERYTHING we ALL asked Konami! New boots!
Me so happy now!
/sarcastic
So, yeah, if anyone wants gameplay improvement or anything, better wait (and hope) for next year’s PES.
(I did interrupt the download of the new file, that is. Didn’t want it to mess with my SM 3.9 patch which works so beautifully well)
@ 24 What about the online mode?
I play offline only.
But there’s no mention about any online changes.
pes2010, a big dissapointment. players respond very slow, no appropriate cuts or faints, when you fake a shot it continues forward in the same direction and you immediately loose the ball. you cannot send another player to make a run when you have possesion of the ball (in fifa you can) the passing is the most furstrating of all. you want to slightly tap the button so it will give it to the player close to you but it gives it to the most further one sometimes and its very frustrating. defending is the worst proevo has ever had. when receiving a ball they cannot control it to their feet, they always take a step forward thus giving away the ball, making a bad pass or loosing it to a defender. goalies dive unrealistically. Wow so many things that proevo creaters need to work on. its not funny at all, im a proevo supporter but if it continues to be this agonizing i wont have a choice but to switch to fifa..

I think this quote from you should be made as a header at the very top of this site so that we can all remind you of your words come October 2010. This is a very bold statement from you and based on this years offering very optimistic indeed…
Don get me wrong, I very much hope that you make me eat my words. I am not confident though!
@ dougiedonut
