With only 133 responses to the current poll asking whether you’re excited about the PES 2013 announcement, it’s been a pretty disappointing poll overall. But on the positive side, 74% of you were excited.
I’d like to run a series of polls over the coming months, and will even switch between them once in a while to see if there are any more voters which may give us more stats to work with.
With diminishing numbers of comments being left on the site, I’m worried about how many people are actually keeping abreast of PES developments, or indeed still interested in it.
Barry has been doing a sterling job over the last couple of months keeping you guys entertained, and interactive with the site.
But I think he deserves large audience numbers which we seem to have lost over the months. Of course this is a traditionally quiet period for PES, but I know we’ve had better and should have more regular visitors.
So we’ll be trying to stoke up the fire with more postings – but we need your help. Are there topics/questions we’re not asking?

Without trying to sound too judgemental, how do you expect to receive more feedback, since i.e. you haven’t addressed differences in gameplay of new 1.06 patch already, and how dumb through balls & speeding is favored once again. Is this a hint from Konami, about where Pes 2013 is headed ?
We surely don’t need any articles with predictions regarding press releases of Pes 2013. I am sure, that most of us Pes players, have learnt to ignore Konami’s marketing announcements, after Total Control and Manual Passing fiascos.

PES isn’t holding many peoples interest anymore. It’s a fundamentally broken game and has been for 4 years. Every year it’s the same hype, and every year it’s the same broken mechanics and features swapped out for the ones from 2-3 years ago.
You can write 100 articles a day, but it won’t matter because the game is crap. I could write 50 pages describing how crap it is, but I and many others have done that before.
Nobody even plays it like real football, because it doesn’t play like real football. The object of the game is to exploit the many game glitches that haven’t changed since 2008.
What’s not to like about a next-gen football game with horrid passing, shooting, defending, animations, and goalkeepers?
There have been six updates in PES 2012 and judging from responses, the game is still horrible (not that I’ve tried the last two). Now you expect me to believe that they’re gonna get it right next year? Never again Konami.
The only reason this game exists is because EA allows it to stay alive so it can look that much better. If I was EA, I’d pay Konami employees to keep putting out their trash every year. It’s the best possible ad for FIFA.

Well, I think that asking questions is fairly simple, even cheap, and I do not feel that’s the reason why the old crowd isn’t around anymore. I think that the lack of answers, not questions, but answers that can filter the predominant sentiment amongst both optimistic and pessimistic fans, is one of the main reasons as to why the number of comments has gone down.
Most specifically, it’s the ever present lack of diversity where opinion is concerned: I mean, we get that this is a PES forum and that the proverbial powers that be dictate that sheep-fan-boy-ism should be the core ideology to follow in life, and the rest is self-explanatory…..
Fanboys are mostly kids whom are self-centered, will voice their opinions via extremely short and vague and cheap criticism, will not read the actual article that the writer worked so hard on, will either (a) not read the opinion of anyone that exposes their shallow idiocy or (b) attack the person instead of the argument that exposed how shallow they are as consumers.
On the other hand, you have young adults and not so young adults, whom work very hard for the things that they have, whom are more inclined towards detailed and mature criticism, and whom are more likely to feel disappointed by the below-average video games that both Konami and EA Sports are producing on a yearly basis. This group of people, are probably the only people who will bother reading articles out of genuine interest and with the intention of actually responding with something relevant.
So when the “old crowd” is mentioned, one fact that should be considered, is that FIFA12 outsold PES12 by a margin of 25 to 1, and that as the statistics clearly reflect, a large portion of that “old crowd” did not bothered buying PES12; so when all the writers in PESGaming genuinely think that PES12 is good enough, how do you, as a writer, connect with a majority of people whom are disappointed with the series?
It is undeniable that PES12 finally destroyed the loyalty of fans whom were patient enough to endure the likes of PES08, PES09,PES10, and PES11; yet what can a consumer do about something that is completely out of his control?
It is undeniable that the quality of the product will logically affect the number of people whom will visit the website, but other than that, I feel that the lack of variety that PESGaming offers as a website, is another key factor. I feel that PESGaming would improve by adding more variety into the home page, the home page needs a skeptic, a writer who can openly express his disappointment with the series, use YouTube as a medium to represent exactly why he is disappointed, and I have no doubt that the number of regulars would increase.
But when, as a fan who does not enjoy PES12, you visit WENB and PESGaming, and you notice the same writers, the same people who always find that the new PES game is just good enough, the same superficial articles where none of the core flaws are ever mentioned with enough clarity, you have less of a reason to visit a PES website.
Personally, I think that PES11 was better than PES12, I think that PES12 was a waste of money on my part, and I do not bother playing MLO nor BAL when the core fundamentals are not up to my standards as a gamer. And that’s the bottom line as far as I’m concerned, when the game doesn’t give you anything substantial to talk about, it is nearly impossible to write a substantial article about the game.
As for PESGaming -again- whenever I take a look at the homepage, I make sure to make it a thorough inspection, just so that my opinion about this website is an informed one, and I always see the same type of articles: MLO this, MLO that, etc, etc. Whenever I see a MLO-based article, I loose interest very quickly, not because I happen to find that such articles are conceptually boring, but because I do not think such articles are in-tune with the true sentiments of the vast majority of PES fans.
So, again, I think PESGaming needs a little more variety: a skeptic writer would offer more space, for the “haters” that currently make bad use of the articles that are written by optimistic writers, to make a positive contribution to the website. However, in order to do so effectively, the site needs a person who can simplify all the substance into brief YouTube videos: that way, the “haters” whom are consistent enough to express their disappointment on a regular basis yet lazy enough to not explain exactly what they dislike so much about the game, can simply vote in favor or against objective criticism, with the objective criticism being represented by irrefutable YouTube video evidence. It would be fairly easy to do, the writer could even invite the readers into producing their own videos about the flaws that they hate the most, at the end of the day, it would add a new dimension to the home page, it would invite a larger variety of fans.
So anyways, that’s my two cents, the lack of quality of PES12 is definitely a factor in the decline of regulars, but PESGaming could improve.

I like the fact that you can create your own stadiums and fan chants and the running animation (with the ball) in PES11 was spot on, the lighting was good the nets were realistic and they had everything in place to improve that with PES12.
BUT! they made PES12 running animation(with the ball) look like the players had a stone in their boots,they made the crowd noise so loud that it drowned out your own fan chants and the netting looks like chain link fencing with no fluid movement to it at all. I hope these issues will be “fixed” in PES13 otherwise it will be my last PES.
I forgot to mention camera angles, in PES11 I used broadcast cam and enjoyed the game that way,but,in PES12 the “live” broadcast cam is a joke. Give us the option to create our own personal camera angle with zoom/height or swing adjustments.
I think if you play the same way all the time then PES will be scripted, if you change it up and not play the same type of through balls or crosses, then maybe you will see some individuality in your game play.

No, you need to lighten up, you need to realize that the serious fans are not complaining about a lack of realism, the serious fans are complaining about the fact that the game is boring because it works around very dated mechanics.
Mortal Kombat is a 2D game, not realistic at all, but it is not scripted, you are in full control over the game, and the hardcore fans love it. On the other hand, with PES, you do not actually determine the direction of dribbling nor the direction of standing tackles, it’s all automatic or in other words “scripted”, and people have grown tired of the same old flaws that are inherent to the automatic concept that is PES.
Serious gamers are not complaining about the lack of realism, serious gamers are complaining about the lack of control that they have over the game. Video games are video games, nobody is expecting something impossible, we simply want a good video game, and PES12 is not even close to the standards of a good video game.
And of course, when talking about “realism”, are you aware of the fact that “realism” should not be a concern considering how unrealistic PES actually is?
Stop insulting people with cheap words like “bitch”, and accept the simple truth, which is the fact that PES12 is very outdated and flawed, and that many loyal fans have had enough of the same half-backed efforts year after year.
I do not know if the terrible earthquake had something to do with the fact that PES12 should not be described as an improvement over PES11, what I do know, is that the situation over there was extremely difficult, with lives being lost and with massive environmental damage, something that could have easily affected the production of PES12 in one way or the other.
At the end of the day, the fact of the matter is simple, PES12 was a massive disappointment, and Konami has a lot to prove with PES13, hopefully they will surprise us.

The fact is this – a lot of people still have fun playing PES. Little things progress over time, some get better, some get worse, but little by little I think it does improve each year. Its called Pro Evolution Soccer, not Pro Revolution Soccer, and you are never gonna have the development time in a single calendar year to redefine an entire genre. It just doesnt work that way.
I don’t find Amateur to be the problem. I find the game to be the problem. Like was said, you want to come here to discuss the game truthfully, and every article is about roses and rainbows and pots of gold. It’s obviously not on par with the majority of customers; yet every year we hear they listened to the community. And the SAME FLAWS exist, year after year. The engine used now is the exact same one from the PS2, just touched up; yet how many times have we been told it’s a new one?
Amateur is one of the few bright spots on this forum. He has critically detailed many times what he finds to be wrong with the game and offers solutions. Seems more than most of us haters who aren’t as articulate and slag the game, and the fanboys who do nothing but slag the haters.

Especially the tired old one of, “just learn the game.” I’m actually quite good at the game, but that is no accomplishment. Konami shows there lack of effort by not licensing new EPL teams, Man city made the UCL last season but they weren’t licensed!
The transfers weren’t updated, so we had to wait for an update. Why not make the game 100% on the final copy. I bet they will be doing the same thing this year, along with Spurs being licensed.
The funny thing is we pay so much for the game and still have to work on it with option files and stadiums….lol, they should give us the game for free..
