As it stands, we’ve only managed to get 55 votes in for the poll so far. I think the poll is quite an important one, and we need to really hammer it to show how much it means to us. Online play is a massive factor in determining the success of the game, second only to gameplay.
I can’t stress enough how much we need to drill this point home with Konami. There will not be much point in shouting and screaming about cheats and how they’re getting away with it once the game is released. The time to get vocal about this issue is now. The sooner we make it clear that cheating ruins the game for us, the better. Cheating results in people giving up playing PES, so it’s vital the area is flagged asap.
We have made noises in the past with Konami about this, but clearly more needs to be done to tackle it harder. More and more games are starting to tackle online cheats more effectively due to fans protesting about cheats. I’ve never managed to get clear cut answers to what the exact system is to combat online cheating in PES2012. Which either means they don’t want to divulge what it is that they do to combat cheats, or it could be that there really isn’t much in the way of protection.
I’d like to think that there is a system which is penalising cheats as was indicated for the game, but the only way to truly know would be to tarnish your gaming record. Which is not something I would recommend doing – even out of morbid curiosity. We are being told little snippets like player salary caps in the MLO to help, but that’s not enough. We need to know that cheats are being hunted down and eliminated from the game. But to do that, we need to show that it’s a real issue. 55 votes doesn’t cut it for me. Not even 250. Seriously, anything short of 1000 votes would be embarassing to submit to Konami. We know there are lots of you guys out there that visit the site – so please get voting, and get your mates voting too.
As we now hit a critical month in PES’ development, the excitement levels will grow. With a demo to look forward to at the end of the month, we will get to see what the fuss that has been made over PES is all about.
I personally think that the end of July is very early for a general demo, but it’s a mark of their confidence in the product that we’re getting it. It will provide us with a perfect platform to debug the game as much as possible.
Rather than relying on the in-house testers who regularly seem to miss so many sitters, this is our chance to get some real world testing to give us a better end product.
We all know that these days many games are released with plenty of “known bugs”, knowing full well that day one patches, and subsequent fixes are considered par for the course. It’s a sad state of affairs as I think it results in developers being lazy about quality, but that’s the status quo right now.
That’s all I’ve got for you today, so please do vote and let’s get a proper representative number to take to Konami.
Thanks for reading.

Dougie – I’m wanting to vote, but I think the term “cheating” needs to be clarified a bit. Are you talking about exploiters of the game, who ruin the game by making the same runs over and over with the same superstars, or who find cheap goals and use them with no qualms over and over? Or are you only talking about people who disconnect? See, there’s a fine line there, because to me the biggest problem is the blatant exploiters, and personally I actually have at times disconnected from players if they are really really cheap in the way they play. Seriously, I don’t feel bad about doing that because it’s the only way to send them the message that if they keep being so cheap then nobody will complete a match against them (e.g. the players who take advantage of the cheap free kick bug where you place a target player in the net and pass to him).
PS – Another message I would like sent to Konami is to have the ability to disable online messages. Trash talking is a major problem as well, and to me it’s ridiculous that Konami gives people the ability to say “goal!” and “Impressive” about their own goals (rubbing it in the face of the other player). That’s just encouraging poor sportsmanship IMO and should be either eliminated or you should have the ability to disable it.
How u gunna get 1000 votes, u b lucky if 1000 players still play Pes 12, long live football manager.
Hi Dougie
Although I admire your passion with this issue the truth for me is that Konami should already well and truly know about this problem and how important it is to get their online play right. People who are able to effectively cheat should be the top of any game developers list when concerning their online play and so shouldn’t require a poll from here to inform them that this is a serious issue that needs addressing.
Furthermore I really hate this concept that’s used to justify not fixing or adding improvements, its basically feigning ignorance so they can then put the blame on us the players stating “We didn’t tell them”. Fan Feedback thats properly listened to is a great thing but it really shouldn’t be the only avenue for game developers to assess problem areas especially when they are blatantly obvious this good while
Oh excellent, another poll that Konami wont ever see…
Keep up the good work lads!
Fix the animation first .THEN talk about other aspects of the game. I for one fed up with Konami cheaters not online cheaters. Every year the same old story….we added this we enhanced that, but what they dont tell you is what they take out.
Take for example the scrossing animations in pes2010. And compare it to the ONE crossing animation of pes 2011. That is one example. For more, check youtube.

I do think that is a good point about Konami quietly removing stuff… It always feels to me like they give with one hand only to take away with the other I find it very annoying. Very few of these removals from the game can be argued as making the game better I think the majority when they were in PES enhanced the game. Who at Konami think these decisions are spot on? I’d love to know…. Or is there a possibility that they just overlook these little elements thinking the main fans won’t notice if this year we only give the goalkeeper one strip, take out animations, etc. What’s even more infuriating is that these things will more than likely be added again in later editions as new and improved features grrrrrrrrr
@Sanjeev. LOL
Fook you DD.. There will always be onlice cheatscand BArca Boys
Oh my god I just seen a trailer for a new game coming called ‘Lords Of Football’ how come I never heard about this when I was looking for other soccer games? It states…..” Lords of Football is a lifestyle football management sim, combining traditional tactical and training gameplay with off-the-field antics. By day, players set training regimes and tactics, pick squads and motivate the team. By night, the focus shifts to social and recreational activities, such as going to the pub or gambling at a casino. Team members have their own unique personalities, which are influenced by what happens during the evening. It features a living, breathing 3D world, with a full day and night cycle and varying weather conditions. The game is being developed by Italian studio Geniaware, while former Chelsea and Italy striker Gianluca Vialli is on board as a consultant.”
I’ve been saying this for ages now this is where Konami should have been branching off to in the Master League and in BAL and now another crowd have seen the potential and have jumped ahead. This new game does sound great but I guess we will just have to see will they implement things well….personally I hope they do succeed because it is a brave and innovative step..I also hope it partly gives the likes of FIFA and PES a good kick in their complacencies. More than likely though it will be the likes of ‘Football Manager’ that will be under threat the most by the concept of this game nevertheless I still think its a step in the right direction that should have come a long time ago IMO

I agree with some of the comments on here,ie; Konami DO take things which are popular out and leave all the crap such as Stoneheads/Motion blur/ Who ate all the pies banners etc. Another thing they have RUINED are the nets, which, are very unrealistic. For years FIFA “did’nt get” that nets are a important piece of the action and their nets were terrible, but, now their nets are superb with many options to change them if you wish. Konami always had great nets, but in PES12 they are rubbish and a beautiful goal is ruined by a virtually unresponsive net,as I say the net is PART of the action of the goal. Another thing Konami have deemed we can do without is the FREE CAM on replays whereas YOU can choose the angle/height you want to view your goal from and if they re-introduce this feature they wouldn’t need their other replay cams. I’m very worried about the direction PES is going it’s becoming like FIFA and vice versa I love my PES and don’t want that to happen.
