PES 2013 has been the most discussed PES in the last 5 years. And for good reason. The signs are looking great, the feedback has been extremely positive and Konami have proven they are back with a bang when PES 2013 was awarded the ‘Best Sports Title’ at E3.
It is well known that Konami will be continuing their trend from last year and releasing two demos, one in July and one in September.
The July demo will probably hit around the 26th. I have been hearing some very juicy gossip about PES 2013. MLO is getting a serious overhaul and there will be some genuine suprises. I won’t comment on all I have heard but I will talk about the most exciting one.
As I say, like Paul Mc Shane being a professional footballer, these are wild rumours.
The biggest rumour floating around is the Player ID library. PES 2013 has the real life likeness of 50+of the world’s best players. Konami want to have EVERY footballer in their game eventually captured. They want to build a massive hub for each individual. Every player will handle differently, as in real life. This will roll onto PES 2014 on the next gen consoles and also onto PES 2015, 16, etc…
Imagine how amazing that would be. I reckon it would extremely difficult to do this but even to have 500 players for PES 2014 would be great.
Also, Konami really want to embrace DLC. Weekly content is rumoured, with things such as MLO challenges, Master League stories ( real life football drama incorporated into your PES World) and all the usual boots, (create a pair) shirt styles and hair styles. Throw in a new rival mode and more editable teams and crests and Konami look like they want tooffer more bang for your buck.
The future is bright for PES. I have faith in Konami and after July, I’m sure you will too.

Alot of those features sound great and interesting but what immediately hits the worry centre of my brain is the idea of Konami embracing DLC and what extra exactly am I going to be paying now and in the future years in order to get these things?

We don’t need you patronizing us about PES being back, were all old enough to judge it for ourselves.. if only they listen to the fans and sort out all the issues as @irish wolf has pointed out then we will have a game in our hands..happy to hear MLO has been worked on, shame I don’t play it, saying that though knowing pes there will always be flaws with this game..
DLC on a more regular basis is good news, any info on the rubbish nets, have they been, or will they be getting changed, will they be included in the edit mode, will we be able to choose the colour, stripes design of the netting when we edit a stadium, or choose this before a regular game, sort the bloody nets out.

MLO was ruined by cheats. Konami cannot stop people using net tools unless they have their own servers. What they can do is make a system to punish the cheats severely. But in fairness they are trying, i am not a spokesperson for konami and don’t think the sun shines out of its arse. I am a fan. But I really enjoyed the offline gameplay in PES more than any PES. Two player coop and ml are excellent. Online is a mixed bag. MLO is deeply flawed bcuz you always lose out in the end. Pes 2013 is an improvement on pes 2012. That’s good news and one that should be applauded. At least give the demo a chance
Anyone else think they should remove comments or at least make it optional during online matches ??
it does take the pi.$$ ..its meant to be a light hearted, a bit of banter but when it comes to online matches – No chance fooking idiots winding you up at every possible opportunity. you miss a shot ” made a mess of that” your offside.’ that didn’t go well’ get a yellow card ‘well.done’ you concede ‘you ain’t gonna beat me’ or ‘WoW’

Just fix everything, then I back in 2055 on me death bed, what thee point avin online mode, where cheats rule, they said this where fixing it last year, yet they made it worse.
A solution to the problem of people always picking Barcelona. You should have to select your team first then get paired up against an opponent with a team of a similar rating. I hope they fix the goalkeepers, In PES 2012 they are crouching when diving to make a save, they never extend their arms and save the ball with their fingertips instead they throw their chest towards the ball.

As for DLC, it is welcome, free or paid. I paid for the EURO 2012 on FIFA and I never played it even for more than 20 minutes, tried once, the AI was slow even horrible than normal. I just wanted to get the EURO feelings but then again I wasn’t satisfied, so it will be there when I have friend who can’t play the real simulation.
I am counting days to PES 2013 demo, I will be made if they don’t put Real Madrid in the demo. How can you put Ronaldo on the cover but you don’t let people see him in action in Demo????? I don’t want FC PORTO or whatever, I want CR7 (Madrid) and possible Barca to try out Iniesta Player ID. 1 week to go.
@ Ability – Totally agreed. I have commented on this in the past as well. It’s as if they are promoting poor sportsmanship. The worst, in my opinion, believe it or not is “goal!” but I also hate “Impressive!” What kind of noodle head says something like that when they score a goal?!?!

The problem with PES games is all their good work is basically wasted as they fall down on just getting it to work properly. The game feels there, but its hampered by scripting, controls that don’t always work, AI interference, the removal of manual cursor change and a general lack of gameplay testing. If there was a decent alternative to PES it wouldn’t be so bad, but FIFA has its own problems and is quite dull. I used to play PES all year round, but the next gen versions get so infuriating because of the above issues,that I end up having to stop playing for months. The real test will be, can it be played regularly for a few months without making me want to break stuff, kill people and swear profusely at the playstation.
Good point Duffman76 you feel Konami are trying so hard to get it right that they miss obvious little niggly things
and ultimately bugger it up.
All the points on here have relevance from Barca boys to rubbish nets, I don’t play PES online anymore because of this and subsequently don’t give a toss in a tin can whether they get online right or not.
Editing boots/balls/nets would be a step in the right direction and how about adding emblems to shorts/socks where currently all the external editing is for shirts only, also,interchangeable kits with an added third kit would be great. All this would add to the aesthetics of the game and I want PES to be all it can be.
Just a further point! A lot of people have been asking about improved graphics,but,if you cast your mind back to PS2 days where the graphics were terrible but the gameplay was great nobody cared about graphics. For me personally the graphics are very good and Konami do very good “rain” compared to FIFA.
You practically give no information about the new pro or even the demo. A totally useless article that already regret spending my time reading it.

Another pet peave from PES 2012 – Has anyone else noticed that when there are the most questionable fouls (the ones the ref seems to get wrong) you can never make comments? Is it just me who sees it that way? It makes it seem scripted to me (scripted questionable call by the ref) because those are always the ones where you can’t say “no way!” That being said, some of the comments are fine IMO (like “no way”), it’s the gloating immature comments that should be cut out of the the game.
