PES 2013 2nd Demo

DEMO HITS AUGUST 28th & 29th

Konami has announced that this second demo will be released on Xbox LIVE on August 28th and on the PlayStation Network on August 29th. PC gamers will get their hands on the demo at a ‘later date in september’.

The second demo for PES 2013 features 11 fully-licensed teams and ten-minute matches. Also new anthems have been implemented for the starting line-ups and fans will have the possibility of experiencing for the first timeĀ  the brand new training challenge mode, Training Trials.

Konami have said feedback has played a major part in tweaking the game.

“Not only has the balance between offense and defence been equalised, but our fans will be able to see the improvements made in pass targeting and trajectory, shot speed, blocking actions by defenders and even on the referee AI.”

This PES 2013 demo has been the only PES demo I have ever liked! Looking forward to the next one. I think/hope this may be the first PES since PES 5 that I have played for more than a few weeks.

    Well done Konami.

  6. Dave O says:

Great to hear that the shot speed has been adjusted. Hopefully the shot accuracy is tweaked a bit too. It just seems too easy to score from almost any opportunity. Finding that balance is difficult but crucial…

Konami are really going for it this year…. demo 2 out in four days and a fifa demo still to transpire. Its hard to tell the differences in demo 2 just by watching the gamescom footage but I’m actally beginning to have some faith in konami and trust the improvements will be made.

They need to look at the double tap tackle as well. It happens too often where by you execute this type of tackle that your player will win the ball but get tripped up on the follow through leaving the ball there for the AI to pick it up again. This happens me a LOT in every game i play. I know it should happen somwtimes but not as often as its happening now

    ITS ALL ABOUT BALANCE

Here we go….the second demo… This is the decider!! I want to come back to Pes , I really do. If this second demo is remotely better than the first, am definitely going to get the game. I hope it’s not gonna be like last year where,in my opinion, the first demo was much better than the second.

@Dave O….What level difficulty do you play on? I find the shooting to be too difficult and then on other times its too easy, in terms of goals ive been able to score. I think its a decent balance, because you never know if you gonna score or if the keepers gonna pull out a worldclass save.

I dislike using manual shooting coz it allows you to get a powerful shot off almost anywhere on the pitch with no emphasis on the players position. Normal shooting or “assisted” shooting is based on the players attributes, shot accuracy, shot power etc, the higher those scores are the higher the chances are of you scoring. That is how its suppose to be. Manual shooting takes away from the game.

I love screaming at my players in PES when they catch on crap or dont do what I know they should have done example: score. This is why pes is so good, it fills you with emotions, its as if those players youre controlloing are real. Manual shooting takes it away from the players.

  12. Dave O says:

@ King Suarez – Top Player. No matter what player I’m using it seems the percentage amount of times the ball goes right into the corner with a perfect pace is too high. In other versions of PES there were more chances and more misses. With 2013 I’m afraid, so far, that it seems like all you need is a chance to shoot and it’s a very high likelihood that it will go in. IMO it needs to be toned down so that you need to create more chances in order to score.
I agree more or less with what you’re saying about manual though. I see that if done right manual could add something, but it’s very rare for someone to make the point you’re making, which is that there are positives to PES being what it is, and that if everything were manual we would actually lose a lot in terms of player individuality. I’m not “anti-manual” but I’m still waiting for someone to explain how manual would still make the stats meaningful.

  13. KingSuarez says:

@Dave O…Yeah I think the higher the difficulty the harder it is to score past the keepers. I downloaded the PC mod and when I play against Casillas the game gets a tad frustrating but when I score I celebrate like I won the match haha.

To me the manual shooting is another assisted system that the user has to get used to, I dont like it because when aiming with the anolog stick, in order to hit the ball into the top corner the stick position does not relate to where you want the ball to go (top corner). To get the ball into the top corner the stick is closer to the center than towards north and south. That doesnt make sense to me.

  14. Dave O says:

@ King Suarez – Well, there’s only one difficulty higher that top player, and on that I find I score way too easily. Maybe you are playing very differently from me. I find long range goals too easy, but maybe if I was always trying to score with breakaways, one v one with the keeper it would be harder?

  15. BrZyTwAa (NYC) says:

    @ Dave O

The answer to the shooting being too easy for you might be that you’re only using those 4 teams that are in th demo, and you’re shooting with some of the best players in the world most of the time. I downloaded the PC demo mod, and have been playing with some much lower teams and players, and shooting with those guys isn’t as easy as with those top rated players.

  16. Dave O says:

Nope – I’m using the teams in Copa Lib mode, and scoring with midfielders more often than not.

  17. BrZyTwAa (NYC) says:

theres only one possible answer then…you’re a beast at PES lol lol

  18. Dave O says:

No, I’m not! It just seems like the shots are too accurate. Maybe it’s just my experience so far, but it certainly seems that way to me. I’ll give revised impressions after demo 2…

  19. Gee says:

    Oh yes please do

Any idea what teams will be in the new Demo?

  23. KingSuarez says:

OMGAAAAD please someone tell Konami they need to fix the animation cutting!! I have seen it in pes 2012 as well, at first I could ignore it but now its really irritating me. Whenever I pull off a great skill I go watch the replay of it and 9 times out of 10 there is a head going through someones arms or shoulder through face. This game looks beautiful but when this crap happens it looks really bad!!!

  24. Gola says:

Any one know what time demo will be released on Xbox live. Please say its 12 midnight or early like demo 1

  25. Rapid says:

Don’t know, I normally have to wait till 1800 for the PS3 update but forget that I have an XBOX as well so if I remember (never download via XBOXLIVE) I will try tonight.

Am looking forward to 10 minute halves.

Will download on XBL then download on PS3!

  26. Ziggy says:

Don’t know about you guys but I would love for Konami to really focus on atmosphere. What makes Football (soccer) amazing is being at the stadium and experiencing a live game… there is no other sport like it in the world. I would love for this to be part of this game where the crowd noise is so overwhelming that when you score, the neighbors can hear it, the room shakes, the commentator gets drowned out by screaming fans. Not only when you score, but during the game when your team is playing at home, you get home ground advantage…
I was at the Australia vs Uruguay match in 2005 in Sydney with 82,000 screaming people, best atmosphere ever… would love for a football game to have that type of atmosphere in its game…
does anyone agree or am I way off track???

  27. Dave O says:

    Turn up the volume.

  28. Ziggy says:

@Dave O… thanks mate, didn’t realise i can do that.

  29. Dave O says:

Ha ha… Actually (seriously) try getting a good quality amplifier with digital surround and a 12 inch sub, then turn your amp on stadium mode if it has it. Mine does and it adds a bit of echo and depth to the sound.

  30. Ziggy says:

Thanks Dave O will try it… I just have to convince the wife I need an amp and surround sound to keep my sanity.
I actually meant real life atmosphere… real chants, team songs (YNWA), GOOOOAAAALLLLL…you know that kind of stuff.
But like you said, maybe with an amp and surround sound, it will sound much better then my TV speakers :-p
