News coming out of E3 is that PES 2013 means business this year. Konami have been busy, and no sooner has the initial teaser trailer dropped than two further trailers have found their way online, both highlighting the new features of PES 2013.
The second trailer shows a couple of new tricks for the game, namely Ribery’s spin and Iniesta’s double touch.

You got to love Konami’s flowered up names for stuff so here’s a quick sum up to make it a little easier
for people ;)
Enhanced Keepers……keepers have been given some more animations
Pro Active AI……..AI has been tweaked AGAIN!
Player ID…….. Players have been given some more animations
lol I’m sorry I couldn’t resist it
I did like the sommersault by Nani at the end which was very like the kind he does however anyone else think his face when he opens his mouth looks really weird and kind of freaky??
lucifer666, i agree with you on the nani mouth, looks like he’s a bo selecta character, other than that i reckon it’s looking like heading in the right direction, few adjustments to the alraedy impressive pes 2012 and should be quality.
I don’t want to dig up a nest of vipers with this comment but,…..new nets please, or a net editor or a selection of different goals, stanchions, netting etc, give me a choice to pick my netting colour, not much to ask, a small addition that adds such a lot to the look and feel.
Classic teams, do they have to be made up nobodys who have no resemblance to the real team of the past, give me classic Brazil with Pele etc, classic holland with Van Basten, classic man united with Best, Law and Charlton, i have never understood the classic teams in pes that are not classic because the players in the team never existed.
Looks like KONAMI finally read my in depth analysis. They should really talk to more people like me who have played professional football, we tend to know more about the game than anyone else.
F00k you barca boys!!
Agree with the nets. They look dreadful, unreal and the same for every stadium.
The rest looks alright, I reckon.
Gameplay still looking way too fast. FFS slow it down… It would do so much for realism. Player movement still looks jagged and awkward e.g. Iniesta trick and the hilarious John terry diving header. Come on!!!! Who’s idea was it to leave that in. As always too much clip movies and not enough f##king gameplay. Every single yeAr it’s the same. Konami would rather listen to the chocolate hotdog at the end of the bowl other than the people who line there pockets. A AM SO PISSED RIGHT NA

@Gola
I agree with your comment about the animation as each movement is smooth by itself but when one move links into another its a bit choppy.. PES has always been like that and during the game the moves respond greatly..
In other games where the movements link super smoothly it usually comes at a price, the price being delayed responses from controller to screen.
Im not saying its right but its all about balance and real time playability is not an issue here.. its just the replays suck a bit..
Perhaps the game can lie.. ie it will be choppy and responsive when you play it but in a reply the motions get smothed off so the actions are identical but the way it links in replays etc is fake.
I dont know if it wouldnt just make more sense to smoothern the animation in real time..
Its just I hope future games can get closer without affecting the controller response times.
Now with regard to your other comments.. I dont get why your upset.. This trailer is blatantly showing us what you can do in the game and as you said its choppy in places which shows you its not a high res intro as such but actual ingame footage,
you complained about the JT dive and the Iniesta trick. its all about player ID so what players do in real life can be recreated in the game.
The JT dive was a body block attempt.. I cant remember what game he did it in but I think its good to have distinctive moves with certain players..
Alright if he does it every 2 minutes then we have a problem but its good..
I wonder if he has the alledged racism ID activated so he tells players of colour where to go.. i doubt it lol
back to football..
I think the way these video have come out have been great.. I saw FIFAs video with its jazzed up game feature names and it appears like moves that are usually either hard to pull off or become a lotto with success rate like skill moves.
I like these new moves and it seems like its not gimmicky with a use at your own risk feel to it like it get with FIFA games.
Like Lucifer said in the 1st post about the jazzed up names.. Konami have done this just like EA as it seems to get a percentage of people thinking its way more than it really is.
Im happy with player ID and also the 1st touch feature.. being able to knock the ball in any direction weather it be mid air or on the ground is a potential positive game changer and is something weve been doing in real life for ages.. so why not in the game.
I’m going to test the game on wednesday so ill be answering questions (if were allowed to) over at OPE
@ realist
yeah I think Avid Merrion may have beeen working on this game…lol
As for the vipers nest comment about nets I think its one of those features again that are requested every year to be added by many but hasn’t been like Managers being able to move clubs, like commentary improvement, like crowd improvement like 3rd strips like giving us back the goalkeeper 2nd strip, etc yet for some unknown reason to me alot of fans don’t get angry about any of this all I seem to hear is this game is near perfect or great or simply they need to tweek gameplay again. Now I’m a PES fan but I just cannot say this game is any where near great or just needing tweeks in saying that I feel the same about EA’s FIFA I feel both games are mere shadows of what we should be getting now I feel we are been short changed every year particularly when you see other game types on the market where obviously much more work has been put into and they really change them up for each new edition. Ironically its probably the thing I hate most about PES that seems to get the majority of Konami’s attention and workrate…….their promotional campaigning before their game’s release!
I agree with you on Classic teams aswell…Do game developers have to purchase the rights to old players? I’m imagining thats why Konami use different names to represent the old greats I usually end up googling the list which gives you the real names for each of the fake ones though they usually don’t look a bit like who they are mean’t to be which is annoying
well guys i think we are gonna be disappointed again
look at the retarded goalkeeper when neymar shoots..
@Lucifer666, good points, i think that the stadium editor is adequate, choose fencing, roofing, stands and even how you want the grass cut, but you can’t coose from a selection of nets, just seems a bit odd that this has been left out when it’s something fans have asked for for a few years now, i am no games programmer but i can’t see it being the most difficult graphical thing to implement into the game, the nets from 2008, 2009, 2010 were droopy and almost hit the crowd when a powerful shot smashed home, they changed them by simply making the back less droopy but they are still rubbish. Rant over, peace.
They need to get rid of the cards this year or atleast that speed merchant crap. Also I only play MLO. Make it so players get better over time. Just in larger increments. Like to get something to 99 would take 3000-5000 games. The higher the rating the slower it goes. Don’t want everybody running around with guys haveing 99 ratings. Only the most dedicated. But people that aren’t good have a chance for good players if they stick it out with them. Also form should go. Its stupid to have that based on a scale. Should be dynamic. If he plays good he goes up. If he makes ****ty passes or misses alot of goals or allows alot of passes or goals it goes down. That’s real life. Same about player progression not everything goes up. A striker that doesn’t pass alot will progress slower in that category for instance. And teamwork stat definitely needs to go up if my guys have played together 500 plus games. That dribbling should be more like the old days. Not everybody does it all the time like in the game.
not only the stadium editor should be improved but also the kit editor. you should be able to put logos and badges on the socks ans shorts as well
you shouls be able to put logos on the jersey sleeves and at the back of the jersey to give the kits more authenticity
@ hiroshi11, very true, the editing system on the ps2 was far deeper than the current one, it doesn’t make sense to me with all the extra memory and power they have to work with, editing and customisation are an important part of pes, people want to have a different look and feel when playing pes, i understand Konami are restricted with licenses but at least give us the tools to make the changes we want, 3rd kit for all teams, 2nd goalkeeper kit, kit editing should allow us to put what ever we want on the shirts, shorts and socks, front, back, sleeves etc.
As for the stadium editor, it’s ok but needs more options for fine tuning areas of the pitch and stands, as mentioned give us a chioce of nets, let us pick the stanchion style, netting style, then let us choose the colour of the netting adding squares or stripes if we want, it should be geared to personalisation so each individual pes player can have his editing needs catered for.
DLC is a bit of a bugbear with me too, 10 pairs of new boots each time plus updated teams from Brazil or Japan, i live in Manchester UK and have never picked Santos, Chivas etc, when playing internationals i have picked Japan, let me see….that would be never, while these updated might please hoki woki and pedro the shoe shiner it give me nothing, DLC should be monthly and include new balls, player goal celebrations, a selection of new things relevant to the game that people will actually benefit from.
yes realist you are right. you should have far more possibilities to make your pes personalised you should have the possibility to create an own league ( for example j league brasileiro…) it should be up ti you
for example i m a fan of the j league and i created one in my pes 2012 but when you look at the jerseys of near all j league teams they all have logos and emblems on the back and the sleeves of the shirts
because you can t make them on pes 2012 my j league looks much less authentic than in reality and that s something that really annoys me
Player movement and animations need to feel real first(like Fifa) THEN improve or add other features. This has been a problem all along, Its not even funny. The way players pass, shoot , dribble, …etc is a joke. If thats sorted then I will, and many others(believe me) ,will come back to PES.
