Hi buddy. I don't really know why you can't find the file named unnamed_38.bin with AFS 3.7

I've had over 1200 downloads so far and no else seems to have this problem i'm sorry to say....

A workaround would be to open cv_1.img with Game Graphic Studio and in the folders that will appear in the left hand pane, open the folder called 0-99.

scroll down and you will either have a file called unnamed_38.bin OR GGS may call it Adboards_38.bin.

If it is called unnamed_38.bin, just right click on it, and then select import a file over this one, then select the file in the NEW ADS folder that you downloaded.

If GGS calls the file Adboards_38.bin, just rename the file that you downloaded to " Adboards_38.bin " ( Without the quotes), and then right click in GGS, Import a file over this one, and choose the renamed downloaded file.

Hope this helps....

To jayansell, when you try to open cv_1.img with afs explorer and the window pops up " Open afs file ", you need to go to the bottom of the window where it says "Files of type - .afs file " and click the downward arrow and change to " Show all files ", you will then be able to see your cv_1.img file.

Adboards file not correct

Hello there, thnx for the update, I'm using GGS and following your workaround. however, there is no unnamed_38.bin in 0-99 folder and there is also no adboards_38.bin, there are adboards_19 and adboards_20.bin...are these the ones?

have looked at them on the download and they look cool....

How did you get it to work..?

Thanks for the addboards, they look superb

Hello there, how did you get past the size issue on AFS Explorer or the bin files on GGS if you used that method...I would be very interested in your method of getting this to work......thnx

Hey Raven, have you added many other mods to your PES install?

The reason that i ask is the fact that my unnamed_38.bin file is actually SMALLER than the default Konami one.

I did this for 2 reasons, i optimised every adboard in the download so that there would be no impact on framerates and also to not nessecitate the need to enlarge any modified space.

@JayAnsell, are using Vista by any chance?

Oh yeah, whatever you do, adboards_19 and 20 ARE NOT where my .bin file should go.

Hi Raven,

I dont use asf explorer as everytime i try to import a file it says it is write protected, as you stated.

I use ggs and it installed fine, saying that i reinstalled pes 2008 tonight and went to reinstall the addboard and it now says - - file to big!

Fix for ADS (use this if u cant install them)

Well thats half true :)
Seems PES2008 comes in different versions in some countries or the patch changes this file or something. Point is that in my version of PES the file unnamed_38 (or adboards_38 as GGS calls it) is 1.918.976 bytes. Your file is 1.931.265 bytes, so its actually bigger from the one I have.

Anyway I found a solution for this using GGS 7.2.0 (might work for previous versions I dont know)

So open cv_1.img in GGS. On the left pane just above the list of the files u will see a search box. Just enter 38 there and it should open adboards_.38.

Right click the file and select the option Modify reserved space.

On the new window that will appear click on the textbox under "Select a name of the new ASF" and a popup window for save will appear. Input a name (DO NOT OVERWRITE THE ORIGINAL cv_1.img) lets say cv_1mod.img

Now go to the radio button named "Reserve" and press the up arrow till the number on the box is higher than 1.931.265 (or enter the number yourself). I used 1.933.312 just to be sure.

Do not change anything else and press "Proceed".
After a while GGS will generate a new file called cv_1mod.img. Move the original file to another folder for safe keeping and rename cv_1mod.img to cv_1.img

That should do the trick :)

If you thing thats too much for you to do ask DrDoooMuk NICELY to make a smaller file for you :)

Okay tried all that and for some reason the size of my addboards in the reserve slot you mention was in its high 2's something (i.e 2733333) and after trying all day today nothing helped. I have AGAIN resinstalled and it now does state 1931265 so i changed to the number you recomended and imported the file and works fine.

Very strange as when i first installed yesterday i simply imported the addboard file straight in and worked fine, i reinstalled due to other problems and just couldnt get it to work. Not sure if the konami patch or other files available to download effect it but i did a clean install and installed this first and now works fine as i know with the konami patch the kit server program installs to the settings.exe but not pes 2008.exe.

Why do they make life so hard!

Thanks for the help gatos.

PS i use an earlier version of gss and worked fine (7.1.8)

I use AFSExplorer V3.7 and just click ok, than I can find unnamed_38.bin (The Length is 1918640, Max size 1918976), I right click import and choice download file unnamed_38.bin, just click ok to reserved space file, but just display 'Couldn't insert file. Check AFS file is not write-protected and there is enough reserved space for the file.' What can I do? Is this ok? Thanks for your supporting !!

For those having the size issue, I was having the same problem. The way I got around it was:

1. Clicked on the hammer in AFS Explorer and went to modify reserved space
2. Then scrolled down to unnamed_38.bin and click on it.
3. Then in the top right hand corner, held down the up arrow and changed the value to something in the 300000 range.
4. Then clicked "regenerate", clicked all files, then give it a different name like "cv_1_new.img"
5. After that I closed and re-opened AFS Explorer
6. Imported the NEW AFS file and then right clicked on unnammed_38 and imported the new file. This time I got no error messages. Then File > "Update".
7. Closed AFS, deleted cv_1.img, renamed cv_1_new.img
