Couldn't have put it better myself. Every year I have to create my beloved Aberdeen. At least you can still play with your teams. Updates for the EPL are included in every option file, Hopefully I can get one this year with Aberdeen in it, although somehing tells me the stats will be off

mate its still not the full verion really coz the updates r coming in november for other roster changes nd they going to do it after january transfers aswell.. unlike fifa.. also u must have know pes doesnt have the licence, fifa nd pro evo cant both have it.. so shh, nd its an amazing game.. just coz fifas bigger doesnt make it better.

I have a good question - is there an idiot filter for this site (ie fanboys)? I have to pick through about 30 or so posts to find someone that says something intelligent
here is how I look at this constant fifa/pes battle. I'm an American. I used to play fifa until we6 (pes2) was released for ps2 in the states. In all the years prior to pes coming here I would occasionally play fifa and like it. then winning eleven came along. this video game actually made me interested in football. I would occasionally watch football from England (when I could get it), but wasn't the biggest fan.
It was this simple little game that peaked my interest in this beautiful game. now I can't get enough and I watch and folllow football more than any of the American sports I used to follow. i just dont get the same feeling with fifa as I do pes. yeah fifa has all the licenses and uniforms, etc. but if you are bored to tears with gameplay what is the point?
if konami had just release pes5 again for ps3/360 I would play that and be happy. I could care less about the logo on the shirt, players names, etc.
If I really want a particular team I can stop complaining and create them

It's true. I bought FIFA yesterday, mainly for the 10v10 online (absolute shambles by the way). Although it's early days, i can see it getting boring fast. It's just so clunky and unresponsive you can't do any intricate dribbling/passing moves at close quarters. Luckily my beloved Pro Evo is in the post to save the day. I spent 60 bucks on FIFA though, so i'm going to give it a proper chance to prove itself.

Why is the online version so bad for PES2009? I can't believe that I took 10 minutes to find a stupid match room to play a damn game. In PES 2008, all I had to do is find a random player and just play. But not anymore. In PES 2009 you have to look for every damn match room to see if it is full or not.
Registration:
It took me over 30 minutes to figure out how to damn register on your crappy Konami site. Wtf is wrong with you? For one password you accept only letters and for another one you only accept letters and numbers? What about the KonamiID and GameID? WTF? How the fuck am I going to remember all those fucking names and passwords? You think I live and die for konami all day long?
Online Play:
Why do you make me waste my time in finding a stupid game to play? All I want to do is get online and just randomly play against another guy since the AI is too easy to beat (even in Top Player level).
Why does it keep lagging? Why can't you fix this crap?
Why do my players keep running on a direction when the other guy runs with the ball towards my goalkeeper?
Why do my players stop completely (bug) when they lose the ball? Why can't they rush to go get the ball back?
Why doesn't the AI pressure work properly? When I press square it seems that all of them are going somewhere but not towards the opponent with the ball.
Goalkeeper:
Have you noticed that it is much easier to just shoot towards the goalkeeper and score rather than trying to put it in the angle? All I have to do is run on the sides and just shoot towards the goalkeeper. I can assure you that it's a 100% goal if you do that. Pathetic.
Shooting:
Ok, maybe you wanted to make it harder or something. But can you tell me how to angle my shots? How come each time I try to angle the ball (even with R2) it either ends up out or centered to the goalkeeper?
General:
How come these players are so shit?
Ibrahimovic, C. Ronaldo, Henry, Etoò and Messi? I have easier time dribbling and surpassing everyone with Augero than with Messi. C. Ronaldo is so shit that I can't even dribble properly.
Why don't you release a patch to put the latest transferred players in the correct teams? I want to see Quaresma and Muntari in Inter.
Yes, there is something called downloading stuff from the internet and shit, but I want something official from Konami so everyone has it.

Online PES 2009 is fucking atrocious.......AGAIN!
Fortunuately though the offline game is very good this year.
Considering the money that Konami must make from this game there is absolutely no excuse for the repeated online shambles that we are going to have to put up with (or not put up with if u have any sense) for another year. If their in-house online coders cannot do a proper job, then they should pay a team of outside coders who can get the job done.
If you want to play online footie this year, then FIFA09 is only choice. Offline though, then for me no better fun can be had than with PRoEv.

Haha. And that is why you never play video games with little siblings. As for online, I still think we should give Konami a few weeks or so to get everything sorted before we make final judgement. i agree its a great game of footy nothing beats winning a game online but when i tackle a player and my player just refuses to move near the loose ball :/ well...........

Played FIFA 09 and PES 09.
There is no words to describe the game play of PES.
Its just so much superior to FIFA's.
FIFA tries to be too realistic and fails completely. The flow is just not there. I dont know whats the deal with the fan sounds, when you score they go loud and wild, but as soon as the play starts again at the center, they just go silent again instantly, just weird.
PES on the other hand tries to be realistic but at the same time it is also arcade like, which makes it a more funner experience.
I do think FIFA 09 is not a bad game because of the above things. If i never tried PES i wouldve probably been happy with FIFA. Although, i still think PES 6 is even better than FIFA 09.
