No matey its not that... :)

You can play more than one position, and all different styles... Some like to dribble, others like to play simple and so on... It all depends on how you want to improve you player.

I play mainly in the centre of midfield. So I want everything balance. I want to be able to tackle, pass and shoot also be fast at the same time. But it can only be one or maybe two at the most that I can train at the same time.

If I had the chance to go back and change my stats I wont. :) I can shoot, pass, tackle, dribble (slightly), I can last a whole match and I'm strong enough to barge players off the ball :)

This was all done by balancing my player and not focusing on one thing. :)

Just to add...

I'm in my 6th season now, so even though my stats don't go up as fast, I can afford to put 6 bars on 1 strength as my player is balanced enough to handle it :)

reading through the little debate there and was quite amused. on one hand i agree with gaffa because of the fact u can see how many ppl he has helped out, including myself. on the other i agree with PSS. i concentrated purely on kicking(technique) and have had 6 on it for a long time now as im a AMF and it goes towards all the things u listed and whenever i felt something needed improvement would stick the other 6 on that. but after rreading that gaffa found out how the match exp is distributed, i might change my evil ways.

gaffa you mentioned a topic you started asking people to list stats. where can i find that as im intrigued to compare myself with you.

.....im very competitive. its a problem

No problems you have nice stats as well, just need to get that defence up a wee bit :)

What platform you have PES for?? I'm still waiting for a decent legends buddy! I have a friend, but he's currently learning the game... And mostly all the other players don't understand what team work means and they have no idea how to bring 4 AI players with you, meaning your lumbered with the crappy ML players....

I've done a bit of research on Gaffa's graph.

In total, there are 44 points that will be trained from the strengthen zones.

Technique (kicking):15

Technique (dribbling):5

Balance:8

Power:7

Speed:6

Stamina:3

And there are 12 strengthen points to assign to these 44 training points.

12 strengthen points /44 training points = 0.27

Now multiply each training zone number by 0.27 to give you the amount of strengthen points to assign to it.

For example: Technique kicking = 15
15*0.27 = 4.05 = 4 (no decimal places)

Times the rest of the training zones by 0.27 and round up he figures to the nearest whole number to give you these maximised strengthening zones:

Technique (kicking):4

Technique (dribbling):1

Balance:2

Power:2

Speed:2

Stamina:1

Of course, these are just the strengthen zones that will improve your player's ability the quickest but it depends on your position too. For example, if you are an AMC, then you may want more points on Technique (dribbling) and less on power.

Some nice maths, but flawed thinking. What you have managed to do is give MORE weight to multi-stat training areas, but still keep balance. While this is probably not a bad idea, I don't think (based on what you wrote) it's what you were aiming for.

Going by your method, this is the speed at which your stats will improve:

Technique (kicking):15*4 = 60
Technique (dribbling):5*1 = 5
Balance:8*2 = 16
Power:7*2 = 14
Speed:6*2 = 12
Stamina:3*1 = 3

Total = 60+5+16+14+12+3 = 110

By readjusting your training profile from 412221 to 612111, you get:

Technique (kicking):15*6 = 90
Technique (dribbling):5*1 = 5
Balance:8*2 = 16
Power:7*1 = 7
Speed:6*1 = 6
Stamina:3*1 = 3

Total = 90+5+16+7+6+3 = 127

In other words, by tweeking the training profile, you can squeeze out those extra 17 hundredths of a stat every game you play. Over a 38 game season, that adds up to an extra 6.5 stat points per season.

Of course, my method only works if you don't care where you get your stats. You should plan your own training to improve where you need it most.

I personally will start with a training profile of 611112, as the stamina must be fairly important. The more you play, the faster your stats will increase, and I don't want to be rested, or need to rest myself.

Just my opinion, but I don't think Stamina is important at the start, since you won't be playing any full matches for quite a while. In fact, I found it quite interesting that it didn't make a lot of difference how much sprinting I got mini-me to do during training sessions as to when his arrow turned red. The match time was always between 83 and 86 minutes.

Im the opposite for stamina. My thinking is that as soon as you can you should get enough so you last a full 90 mins. On my game I have 82 stam at the moment and I get to 80 mins roughly before getting subbeb, where as at the start it was 65-75 mins. A couple more points and I reckon Im sorted.

Wow that mathematical equation confused the hell out of me lol... :D

As lexandro said stamina is the way to go. It also depends on what difficulty your playing. In regular its easy to score, assist and tackle, so you might prefer playing just 70mins?? But in top player, you might only get one chance and it comes towards the end of the match, when you need your stamina. Stamina for a midfield player is a must, either way you look at it :)

Great thread. I found it to be very insightful.

From playing at a friends, on PS3, and getting to the later stages of the second season, I found it best to balance the strengthening of stats, for the most part. But it pays to concentrate on a few areas, depending on position, I reckon. I played side midfield, a choice which generates default statistics with great speed, and stamina, and very good acceleration, and dribble speed. Stamina was around 82 or 84, so, I was leaving it with one block, sometimes none. I would focus on speed and balance most of all, with technique (kicking) being next in line along with technique (dribbling). I was often knocked off the ball due to weak body balance, so my pace didn't really count for much 'cause once an opposition player got close to me, he'd send me twirling and spinning with a shoulder charge. So body balance was screaming out to be strengthened. By doing so it also made my defence better - useful for tracking back to help out your full-back - and made me a threat from set peices due to jump and header progressing. I was topping up my speed, and acceleration, simply because the position calls for solid pace, or is at the very least easier to be effective in with great pace.

I would have it something like this.

Technique (Kicking) - 2
Technique (Dribbling) - 2
Balance - 3
Power - 1
Speed - 3
Stamina - 0

Leaving me with one block over, to distribute either in balance or speed. I'd switch it around for periods, putting two into stamina, six into balance or speed, two into power, three into technique (kicking) and three into technique (dribbling), etc.

I was wondering if anyone has taken screenshots of the statistics of each position, upon creation. Or if anyone simply knows where to find them. It'd be interesting to see the difference between wing-back, side midfield, and wing forward.

Do you guys think nationality does play a part in player's attributes development? My player is Chinese, and by looking at my current stats, I'm a bit worried that might be restricted by the nationality selection.

Doubt it very much...

Obviously if you play for England as an example, you will have more matches, therefore get gain more EXP points. :)

Ok! now I have it sussed! :D

Match Experience Points...

You will gain "Match Experience Points" for getting a rating of 7.0 or above. You will only get "Match Experience Points" for the attributes you play well with...

Shooting - Scoring goals, getting shots on-target
Passing - Completed passes and assists
Defence - Winning tackles
Heading - Winning headers
Stamina - Finishing the match with stamina let over (I think, not too sure about this one)

Ratings...

7.0 - You will get minimal Match Experience Points for the attributes you use well

7.5 - You will get Slightly higher Match Experience Points for the attributes you use well

8.0 - You will get even higher Match Experience Points for the attributes you use well

I haven't got a higher rating than 8.0 so I can't comment on those... But 8.0, I got allot of Match Experience Points.

REMEMBER! You don't get Match Experience Points for skipping matches!

Also something to add... Whether you are training a specific attribute or not, you will still get Match Experience Points.
