[PS2] MLS & USL '09 -- N. American WEPES 2007 Option File

Contents:

* All 15 MLS teams updated for the 2009 season in Other Leagues A. 2007, 2008, & 2009 MLS All-Star teams also included in Other Leagues A.

* All 11 USL-1 and 9 USL-2 teams updated for the 2009 season in Other Leagues B & C. Big thanks to Baracuda for updating the USL squads and for permission to add his work to this file.

Notes:

* File is for PS2 North American version of WEPES 2007, but it should be compatible with PES 6 for any interested parties.

* MLS data based originally off Valmir's PES 6 MLS option file from last year, although I've since tweaked many stats and assorted details. Stats and appearances for new players cobbled together from all sorts of places: other forums, past versions of PES, FM conversions, scouting reports, direct observation, etc.

* File was initially built on top of 2007 MEX/MLS/USL file. Mexican and a couple of defunct/dormant USL clubs have since fallen out of date, but remain on file.

Enjoy! Feedback welcome.

* * *

Final Update:

* All MLS clubs updated following the September 15th roster deadline. Rosters are now frozen for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.

* Further MLS adjustments: formations, lineups, a few GK kits, a few boot tweaks, and many player stats.

Good luck with your project. Hope you get some help from some fellow ps3ers.

I'd be curious as to the players that you most feel need a re-rate in the stats department. If you could, keep me posted on that front. Rookies, especially, will probably need updates as it becomes more apparent who is and isn't making a smooth transition to the pros.

I might update the file in coming weeks. I'll let you know if I do.

Ok, for instance, with DC, chris pontius needs a tad bit higher Shooting accuracy. Hes SICK! Im a DC fan so i will keep a sharp eye over them this whole season.

I set Gomez's FK acc. to like 81.

Umm.... thats the only ones i can remember right now...

Still an awsome OF though bro! Thanks to you i am getting this done crazy faster than last season where i called it quits after 6 teams. :(

If it's any solace, Pontius had the best shot of any rookie on my file. That was a sentiment that came through consistently in scouting & combine reports, and apparently it was confirmed via his goal on Sunday.

And as for Gomez's FK, I'd agree a boost to 81 would be warranted.

Also, I was looking over the file again and another change you might want to make is to Namoff and Ryan Miller. Namoff is rated too low; Miller is maybe slightly high. As the stats sit right now, Miller would get most appearances at RB if the computer chooses the line-up.

Of course, we don't need to go over this player by player. But if you could collate a list of any players that you see as needing re-rates, that'd be cool. Feedback is always welcome. :)

Did you convert most of the new players from FM09? I was wondering since I have an MLS,USL,FMF OF with FM09 converted stats.

Most? Probably not. Many? Yes.

I don't have FM 09, but I've used some FM 09 stat conversions that I found in a variety of places around the net for a few of the new players. Not all of them, though. I found stats for a lot of the new-to-MLS players on other PES forums. I created all the players from the Superdraft (college kids) based on a mixture of direct observation, a collation of scouting reports, intuition about how pes stats work, and an informal stats ladder.

Generally speaking, I find FM conversions to be extremely hit-or-miss. They can offer a good starting point, though.

If you could post your file, or tell me where I could find it, I'd love to look at it for comparative purposes.

Yeah, some players can be hit or miss, but the general improvement of gameplay more than makes up for it. Will try to upload that OF soon.

Will try bro! :) But miller got cut just as a note. Hes not with DC anymore.

I'm hoping to post an update of the file in a few days. The update will reflect roster changes, more accurate kits, the new GK kits, assorted stat changes, and updated boots for many players.

If anybody has specific feedback on the initial file, I'd love to hear it so that I could incorporate it into the update. Anything, really: pointing out errors, identification of players that need stat changes, tips on formations/lineups, or any general recommendations. Thanks.

Cool! I didn't think anyone was still editing MLS for WE2007/PES6 PS2.
I have the Portland updated if you'd like to add them.

Peace

I adjusted Gomez a little for being not as good as he once was, I also adjusted Sacha Klejestan a little, IMO his stats from PES 09' were accurate, some of his stats i brought down a TAD'.

I'm not too keen on updating USL sides myself, since I'm not terribly familiar with the league, don't have FM09 conversions handy, and am suffering from significant time restraints at the moment, but feel free to take any of my files and add Portland or others if you wish and post a D/L. In fact, someone was talking about updating the USL-1 sides over at PESFan, but I'm not sure if he followed through on it. You might want to check over there to see if any progress was made. Just an idea.

Good calls. As I said above, I'm going to put out an update soon (hopefully) and one of the things I'm hoping to do is go through the file again and further adjust some stats.

If you (or anyone else) have further comments on stats or anything else on the file, I'd love to hear it.

Will try. I am with Chivas right now, and i am missing trujillo in that last file i had from you. When are you releasing your newest file?

Trujillo is actually on the file with Monarcas, although the stats date to 2007. The stats looked pretty good to me, though, so I only tweaked them marginally and pushed his age up to 31.

Ideally, I'm hoping to post the update tomorrow or Thursday.

Hey connell3,

I'm gonna update USL 1. I'm now more motivated knowing MLS is already done:)
I'll check with incredibLE first to see how far along he is with updating USL 1, maybe he is already done. USL 2 is a very small possibility.

Peace

Bumpity bump. See the first post for details and download links for version 2.0, which I just put up.

For posterity, I'm going to preserve the links to 1.0 here:

Feedback, as always, is welcome.

That'd be sweet. As I've already said, feel free to use any of my work if you want to tie a file together with MLS and USL. If I can help out in some other way, holla. :)
