The game will feature five new campaigns. In addition to the infected from the previous game, there will be new classes; one is the Charger, a being that is able to temporarily stun the survivors by body-charging them. Existing types will have some modifications, including zombies that are immune to fire, and the Wandering Witch that roams the level until disturbed by the players.

New melee weapons will be introduced, including a frying pan, an axe, baseball bat, and chainsaw, as well as updates to the existing weapons. The AI Director has been improved to encourage more participation by players, forcing players through difficult gauntlets to reach an extraction point, and the ability to alter elements of the level. The AI Director will also be improved to reward players for taking longer or more difficult paths through each episode by providing more useful equipment, such as incendiary ammo, along these riskier paths, and even alter elements of the levels to create varied paths based on the choice of these paths.

The game will be set in the Southern United States, starting in Savannah, Georgia and ending up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Four new survivors will be introduced, with their backstory provided in a similar way to the original through dialogue in the game. The survivors include Coach, a high-school football coach; Rochelle, a reporter for a local cable company; Ellis, a boy mechanic; and Nick, a gambler and conman.

Despite the horrible title, I expect a lot of you will be interested in this. Judging from the above videos, I can only assume the guy is terrible, and that it's more fun playing than watching. The graphics are very dated and leave me underwhelmed but it's more about the gameplay.

Personally, I feel it would be better if it was put in a 'Orange Box 2' (having a much better name), along with Half Life 2: Episode 3.

The fact that it starts in Savannah sold this game to me. Nice little town with lots of art school chicks.

Will definately be getting this, i'm just surprised Valve have released it so soon after the first. Looks awesome.

Most people have been complaining about this havnt they, they dont want them to release a sequel they just want them to release all this as a free update for Left 4 Dead.

Yeah but they're all angry PC nubs who are convinced they were promised more content. And they only believe that because of the way Team Fortress 2 was continually updated.

Don't they have a good modding community?

I found the Left 4 Dead to be dull and repetitive - lacks depth. Looks like some good fun multiplayer though.

They would have a good modding community but theres no SDK yet, there's a beta but apparently it's useless.

As for the game being dull and repetitive, yeah it can get a bit samey after a while but I dont find it dull. Campaigns on expert difficulty with friends is the best co-op experience i've had.

Co-operation being the key word here mate. I was ranting about the lack of depth of the single player campaign.

I played the demo version (both chapters) and despite the controls (maybe I found them so good because I had been playing REIV on PC just before...) and graphics among others, being good, I still maintain that from what I have played the game lacks the touch other first person shooters give - for example, the excellent BioShock.

I will be willing to give the full game a try, provided that its single player experience is better than that of the demo.

Well to be honest it is a co-op shooter, and so single player will suck badly - there is no fun in playing with bots, especially when they are awful.

Do you not play online?

Unfortunately I have only a 512kbps internet connection. Think of the lag...:faceplm:

The original copies of games are fucking overpriced over here too. Scrap that, I'd be lucky to actually find Left 4 Dead. All I see in the big supermarkets are old games accumulating dust on the shelves, only to be moved and put back to original position by an eight year old.

Stores selling games sell pirated copies. (downloaded)

:huh::no:

The first game was very good. It did get repetitive after a while but I still pop it in nowadays quite a bit. Only a few thousand off the Zombie Genocidist achievement. Left 4 Dead 2 should be great, although it will take me time to get used to the new characters. I'll admit i'll miss Bill, and Louis.
