Dear Mates;

After this 720p resolution fix for the demo ;

- Passing becomes easier and more responsive
- Feints become easier , quickier and MORE effective
- Opponent AI becomes more challenging…
- Going out with the ball is not valid anymore ( response)
- Defending is a lil more difficult cuz, opponent attacking strength in increased.. Also you have more control on the player and with less assistanve …
- Even those improvements, there is no difference in superior grafix..

As a conclusion; We can now estimate what the Final product will be.. I’m so reliefed… This is the best PES ever (including PES6).. Good work Konami.. That is the NEXT-GEN soccer that we all talked about..

For me till to the fix… Grafix: 9,5/10 – gameplay 7/10
And after the fix … Grafix: 9,5/10 - gameplay 9/10 ( Goalkeepers remain as the only issue which has to be solved)

I just don't get it?! How can all these things happen by just switching HD off?!?! Viewing in HD shouldn't have anything to do with the cpu AI etc.?

But anyway... It's soo below par that you would have to switch off HD. Hell that's one of the reasons I bought an Xbox360!!! If wanted to play a game not in HD I'd pick up my PS2 for crying out loud.

I know - but it's just the principle in it, that I have to make adjustments to my Xbox's setup - when everything else (even the most primitive XboxLive Arcade games) runs perfectly in Full HD?! So everytime I want to try out the demo, I'll have to switch to 720 - and then when I want to play Gears of War2 - I'll have to switch back again? It's just not something that should be.
I know it's only for the demo (we hope!) - and when all comes to all, it's not that big a deal. But that doesn't change the fact that the sheere principle in it, is pure lazyness by Konami... Hell - they know they can't afford to screw this one up - and then they throw this out to the masses??!? I just don't get it, that's all.

But some games aren't rendered in full HD. They are rendered at 720P. That's the simple difference.

I understand your frustration mate, I guess you have to ask yourself would you rather they spend the time getting code already months old to a level of good playability, or concentrate their efforts on getting the final version right/ to the best of their ability?

The grafix quality doesnt change when you switch it to 720 fortunately.. So no need to worry...

precisely, this guy is talking utter non sense. Full HD settings can have an adverse effect on response but it certainly doesnt change the AI. sheer bull, dont make things up.

^Wait, maybe he was referring to the AI in terms of some freezing and stuff. That's all caused by responsivness. Remember that with better response, the freezing will be less, thus better overall play.

Made a slight difference in the feel of the game. I think there is a fundamental flaw with this version of PES (but im of the opinion it is the best one yet (thought i have a soft spot for pes3)). This is the game we were waiting for two years ago and it feels that way, it's not miles away from the PES6 game and looks a whole load better. This should be the game they built on for PES2010.

Does this make any difference whether your connected with hdmi or scart ?. I am on ps3 through hdmi, the 480 is not there with hdmi. I read earlier that the change is quite noticeable when played at 480. I guess you need to connect with scart for that then.

^Ofcourse. HDMI doesn't support SD resolution. 640*480. Do it 576p. Believe me it's better.:)

I've got a PS3 and changed it to 720 and the only change is the graphics - they look a bit clearer but that's all.

Am i doing something wrong?

I was highly sceptical when I first read this... however, it does actually work. There is a change in the feel of the game when playing in a lower resolution, albeit fairly subtle. There must be an optimisation problem when running the demo in 1080p. Although usually this would just cause the game to crash. Bizzare.

why would opponents attacking strength increase? if anything it should be more challenging before the 'fix' because the AI wont have response lag thus making it easier to defeat the human who does. I aint saying this fix doesnt help but theres not a chance it magically increases the AIs ability. and it does change the 'grafix' (graphics) not a great deal but the edges certainly arent any where near as smooth so saying it doesnt at all is just another fabrication.

urbanreign may need to get to spec savers if he is getting clearer graphics in lower resolution!!!

Theres no doubt this game has the potential to be better than 08 and 09 but it just feels incomplete at the moment. in terms of content we seem to be getting hwat we should have had from day one on next gen and im sure the revamped ML will be able to re-ignite my PES flame, and i dont mind people defending the demo, just dont make stuff up that anybody can see is a lie. jeez of course lowering the hd resolution effects graphics, even if its a small change.

I go to settings and do not see 'manual'

Anyone??????
