What dont you like about the new PES?

Some things have really been irritating me, mostly small features that KONAMI have inexplicably removed.

-Unable to remove players from the wall. I dont need a man in the wall for a freekick by the halfway line.
-Unable to send midfielders up for set pieces.
-Poor close control. Dribbling has been made much more difficult, which i kind of like because people online cant resort to passing to easymode players are driving through your team. However it's much harder to manoeuver in any tight situations.
-Players running away from passes.
-No more hexagon on players stats, should have kept it with the average.

Anyone else find a few things annoying?

i hat the way the computer just passes it around in midfield and doesnt have any shots. ive conceded 1 goal in 8 games on top player and im not even good.

i also hate the way everyone i play online picks madrid and only has red connection

firstly id like to say its a good game, the best since pes6,

but i hate.....

the fact you cant remove players from the wall, i used to tempt my opponent to take the shot with lesser players in the wall,... shocking!

no hexagon

how many buttons to press to control the keeper?

alot harder to one touch pass/shot, i realise it depend on body shape, but i've had players in perfect shape to easily pass on the first touch,

there will be more edit...no up to date transfers

I can't stand how fast-paced it is - it's like a normal football game being played at x2 speed. Its really hard to apply skill to a game so fast, and the shooting feels awkward, your passing options are incredibly limited, compared to the fantastic options FIFA gives you.

Really don't like the new gameplay. Also, the removal of the hexagon, being replaced by copying FIFA's rating system, is poor.

I'm assuming you didn't play PES 09...or 8...or 6..5...yea.

Actually, I've had every PES from 3 onwards, (except 4).

I admit, I'm not comparing Pes2010 to Pes2009, I'm comparing to its real rival, FIFA10. Which this year is just an immensly better game. Which is a shame, as the new ML sounds fun. If I get used to the pace of PES2010 it might be more fun to play, but it doesn't stop the fact that the gameplay is so unrealistic it might as well have the Benny Hill theme tune playing in the background.

Dribbling has always been a hard thing. I'm speaking on the football field. Isn't it normal that it is harder to "manoeuver in any tight situations."? I'm asking you. Logically, it is easier to control the ball when in space, but you still have to make smooth contacts with the football. Even more precisely when tight. DO NOT run into 3 defenders, you won't pass them.

but it doesn't stop the fact that the gameplay is so unrealistic

FIFA's ? I know, it sucks!

Witty. But wrong.

Seriously, FIFA enables you try out tactics successfully, the power bars allow you to try a better passing game, and the shooting has more variety.

It's a complete flip over, I used to think PES had the better gameplay, and FIFA the better game modes, and they've swapped roles. PES has the better game modes by updating its stale formula and FIFA has just completely nailed most aspects of football simulation.

I can never understand those who say pes 10 is fast paced and unrealistic. Even from the demo, I can 100% definately say that it is not fast paced. Take a look at real football. Nowdays football isn't slow anymore.
Oh and fifa 10 is not a total simulation either. Pes 10 and fifa 10 both nail some aspects of real football but none of them are 100% simulations though both are good interpretations of football in their own ways.

Fair enough, I'd say. Everyone prefers their own game.

I haven't played the demo myself, but I can't imagine its too different to the real game.

Either I have bought a warped copy of the game (as has my mate who bought the game...) with the speed ramped up, or seriously, everyone on this forum is overlooking a serious miscalculation on the behalf of Konami. The pace is not like real football in the slightest. I don't mean the pace the game changes from attack to counter-attack or whatever. I actually mean the player animations and running speeds, they are faster than they should be - like a fast-forwarded replay from the previous PES. It looks unnatural and weird.

^The demo is actually very different in my opinion.

However, i think pes 2010 has a lot of improvements.
- The refs let the games be more fluent, not whisteling them do death. But in the box he is extremely careful with giving penalties. Haven't had one (having played the entire second division and some games in first)
- The short passing is much better. They seem to have focused very much on that this year. Letting us make fast and accurate passes.
- The shooting is awesome. Damn some rockets i've fired already.

The r2 button is not as useful as it used to be. Still haven't made an opinion on that yet :) Maybe it is a little too difficult to just change direction without it taking a light year and being useless.

Dribbling in general is just damn difficult. I remember last year when we said "no more superman dribble anymore" in pes 09 - that came out to be wrong. However i would (for now) say that this is maybe the case in 2010. Haven't played as C.ronaldo or any great dribbler yet, so can't say if the good players can dribble.

Many goals from headers this year. Maybe too many. (or too few in pes09)

I don't think that the game speed is to fast or slow. I like it as it is.

In general i think they passed this year where they failed last year. Not saying it is a perfect football game, but a greater difference from pes 09 than from pes 08 to pes 09.

I just played the demo, and it seems a bit too static. The graphics are immense, bid I'd want them to concentrate on the gameplay. What can I say? The demo was poor, I couldn't play it for 3 games! I mean it was quite poor.
- The passing is bad, but better than 09
- The computer STILL does automatic tackles. I'm sure many of you find this VERY annoying.
- The dribbling is .... realistic?
- 6.5/10 for the demo... Seabass better be right for the big cahnge for the actual game.

i dont like the fact that certain classic players are not in the game, Pele, Eusebio, Johan Cruyff, Garrincha, Zico, Socrates, also i wish they would put proper faces on the classic players.

I HATE it's in-game menus!

If you want to bring in a sub, it was so easy in PES 2009. Now, the interface makes it confusing. Try changing your set-piece taker for corners during the game in 09 and 10 and see the difference.

Also, no more hexagons... :(

EDIT: wait, no more EUSEBIO? can anyone confirm this?

Few gripes but nothing major...

-players freezing a bit after a shot thats saved, not that it makes any difference cause theres no wer to run

-AI going mad wit passes in th midfield, they strung 27 together earlier and the fans wer boeing alot...

-transfers not being finished, its just laziness

-The hexagons, i miss them...

-Player likness is off, not that i really care but come on stephen ireland has hair!!!
