What exactly was there to laugh about?

A big pile of FIFA fan-boys venting their misguided gaming angst in much the same way as a very similar bunch of Pro Evo fan-boys vent thier bile out on this forum.

U must be one boring motherfucker.

Yeah, it far surpasses the clunky mechanical and very limited gameplay of Pro Evo. However where FIFA fails is with its shooting/heading on goal which is utterly deflates the meaingfulness of the rest of the game. This is one area, a very important area where Pro Evo excells an beats its competition hands down.

You are a mothercucker bitch, not me, remember that. You come in here, calling people names, faggots etc. I'd love if you do that in my face so I can crush your skull kid.

Get the fuck out of these forums and go hang with your FIFA fanboys bitch.

There is no need for that sort of language. This is a community for people to express their feelings and input about PES in order to improve the game. So why get abusive for people doing so?

Yh pes rapes fifa in the shooting department but having said that in fifa i have scored some beautiful goals and goals which have come out of nowhere which have brought me to my feet pumping my fist. In pes though the speed and weight of the ball is so much better.

The heading. In fifa its brilliant imo but its 90% useless when trying to score but when you get it right and head it in it is really satisfying. In pes its good but you cant battle for the ball and the animation is limited.

I think for all people that hate PES and say its bad, just do us all a favor and leave the board for good. Why come in here and bitch ? Go to your FIFA section and write all bad shit you want but leave us PES fans alone.

Its sad to see a guy banned because he has a good amount of posts and is a vet on the board but acting like a complete jerk off wont get you far in life. Thanks mods!

Anyways, Muzza798 and to the rest of PES doubters, what I find funny is that YOU WILL NOT FIND ANY PES FAN A HARDCORE FAN PLAYING FIFA, but somehow for some reason even the biggest FIFA fans like to play PES... FOR WHAT AND WHY ? its like hey, eating cookies all day long will make you gain weight but then again they taste so damn delicious ??

I always say play what you prefer but never bash any game. I never say FIFA sucks, but it lacks the element of a real true football simulation gameplay. Playing PES makes me feel like I'm playing real football because of the gameplay. When I say this FIFA fans normally tell me: "how can you feel that way when players move like robots". Ok, sure fair enough they surely don't have the freedom and fluidity like FIFA offers but the gameplay makes up for it.

- Did you guys ever play football outdoor with a good, expensive football ? How did you like that feeling ? Now did you ever play football with a lighter ball like a balloon ? did you have good time playing it ? on a windy day ?? I DONT THINK SO...

thats the feeling I get when playing FIFA. I cant make the plays I WANT TO BUT WHAT CPU GIVES ME. That's controlling and I don't like to be controlled.

How the fuck can you call me a doubter. Ive been here non-active and actively for years defending this game in the face of stiff opposition and fifa faithfuls hiding amongst us and i love pes and am extreemly positive about it all the time. Just because i like fifa doesnt mean i automaticly dont like pes. I love pes. I hope some people remembeer i sold it due to my ML being ballzed up and not because i think its a bad game. Ive been playing pes all my gaming life and trust me, fifa is now a pure simulation game. There is so much depth in the gameplay and there are so many ways to attack and play the game which is really good. There's a learning curve. The computer dosnt get in the way of your build up and the game runs fluidly, there's almost toal freedom. The build up play is very realistic and when i watch real football i often say to myself how close fifa is to the real thing. I was watching the Hull - Utd game down the pub with a mate and we comented several times on how they build up the play just like we do.

Sorry, i dont mean to sound 'pro fifa' but the game is quality (online)

One thing i'd like to throw into the mixer is the randomness you get in fifa now. Once a pes trait its now a big part of fifa. An example being me playing online with my mate earlier. He made a rushed clearance that rebounded off my head, hit another guy and then rolled into the path of Drogba for a goal. It wasnt funny at the time but we both knew deep down it was good thing to have something like that in the game to vary it up. There's so much vareity and it has the 'anything can happen' feel to it. Another example is the ball can come of any part of your body when it hits you and go anywhere. In pes there seems to be an endless amount of pre determind outcomes and the gameplay can become predictable. Examples include challenging for headers, dribbling seems stiff and turning is cluncky. It doesnt imerse you like fifa and you defitely feel like your playing a game. A good game but a game.

People often refer to the 'i cant go round a player' debate when it comes to fifa quite alot and tbh i agreed with them but now i have some fifa under my belt its all complete boll***. Its really simple and easy when you get the hang of it. All you have to do is learn. You can do it just as simple as in pes (if not simpler) but i cba to explain how to in detail. Not only is it possible but when you skin some1 with a flick of the stick or just out maneuver them its really satisfying and looks fluid and slick.

Pes is a great game but at the same time fifa is a genuine quality game now. I thought 09 may just be a fluke but 10 has improved on 09 alot more than i thought it had. Fifa was crap in the past and pes was great but thats the past and were in the present and now we have to great games. If pes can just add enough animation or possibly a new movement system it could be a mind blowingly good game. I want the PS2 days back and yes 2010 does feel like it at times but i often notice the simple things are missing. It does feel more robotic and i really dont like the camera angles used now. It lacks the 'anything could happen' styled gameplay that made it great. Also the player models in fifa make pes' look like cereal box cut-outs. In pes everyone slouches the same morodic way and they all move and turn the same which stops it having the depth it used to. It seemed ok on the PS2 but its not clicking on next gen in the player model area. Defo needs some improving.

Anyway i think fifa is a great game now and pes definitely has the potential to be the best sports game ever (again).

^You know, I agree. Both games have potential.
Though I think that the attacking has more variety in pes than in fifa, even though fifa 10 improved this over fifa 09.

At the end of the day lads an opinion is an opinion, you can't say to someone they are wrong because they are giving their view.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and were you wont agree with it, you have to respect their opinion.

I myself have played every single PES game and for me, PES5 is still the best PES I have played. I always picked PES over FIFA, but lately they all seem to be exactly the same. For example PES2009 is just an updated version of PES2008.

I decided to buy FIFA this year again(well last year) and I will continue playing it. I brought PES and again I will continue playing it, Im not going to pick one over the other because they are both great games. I'm not one of them people to buy a game and then spend the whole of time saying to another person, "Ohh It's shit, this games better, this has better graphics". Whats the point?

Why can't we all just buy games, play it and enjoy it, If we don't enjoy it, take it back or sell it. It seems most people who buy a game and hate it, ALWAYS have to get angry over it and write on the intenet abusive text and get angry to another person. I mean for crying out loud, do they have no life or what?. Whats writing what they think of a game over the internet going to do?.

Bottom line. I think both games are great and enjoyable.

I'd love to play Pes 3 with Pes 5 features and the tricks, graphics, and cards of Pes 10. In my eyes Pes 3 was dam close to perfection, the best footy game I've ever played. I have no idea why Seabass slowly started fucking around and dismantled that beautiful game. I mean I still get wowed by that game when I pop the disc in every now and then. That's a great testament to how amazing Pes 3 is.

Pes 10 is a good game but it's not a game where I'd still play a few years down the road like I do with Pes 3. Imo we need someone else in charge of Pes if the series wants to hit those heights again. I'm afraid the great Seabass has lost a fin.

I probably wouldn't criticize the game as much as I do if the game was what Konami promised. I downloaded the Japanese version, the demo on PSN, and it is so much better. Players movements are realistic, the game speed is just about prefect, the animations are smoother. Everything is better. If Konami can figure out how to patch PES to make it like WE, I will be ecstatic.

In my OPINION, I dont believe footie/soccer games have yet to reach their optimum. PES is just one rollercoaster ride where we've had 4-5 excellent games, 2 shit and then 1 meh.. (looking at you 10). I haven't been playing PES 10 much because there's just too many bugs and there's no real sense of attack.
Its like Konami hasn't been taking the series seriously and as a result have lost substantial market share (to think that PES dropped of the top 10 charts in 2 months).

FIFA on the other hand has progressed immensely and there's a reason why alot of websites are ranking it as this year's top contender. I personally loved FIFA this year but everybody knows that FIFA just gets mundane after a while.

You guys wanna see a benchmark in sports gaming, take a look at MLB The Show. Incredible game and thats probably why we need a new developer, its like both EA and Konami are bored.

I am telling you Bonito.. that game is sick! Even if you dont like baseball (I dont follow it religiously) but if you can get The Show cheap, pop it!

We've all become: "Next year we'll get the best soccer game", "PES is on the right track, 11 will be a beast" etc..

Year in and out, we keep hoping for refinements. But what we need is a game that doesn't just correct what it did wrong last year (PES hasn't even been doing that!), but we need a game with that Zing!

What Pes need to do is to is to scrap everything they've ever done on next gen. The PS2 version of 2010 has been hailed as one of the best Pes' ever made and is definitely up there with pes 6 and pes 5.

They really should consider to make this game next gen, if they build on the PS2 version with the graphics and a complexer animation eninge without going overboard it would be out of this world.

Konami need a new CEO, all the games in the Company are going DOWN...

Look at the Silent Hill franchise or PES....

They put all the efforts in that Japanese dancing games shit...

And PES need a brand new game engine capable to deal with mo-cap, inverse kinematics for the collision system and dinamic lighting...something like Euphoria Animation Engine ( look the animations of GTA4)... that with the base of PES 5-6 and we are in FOOTBALL HEAVEN.

Fifa is outstanding this year, and thats with EA shooting themselves in the foot. Simple issues they can't be bothered to address, much like Konami in the sense referees and goalkeepers need looking at. Fifa though is still a great game! Strangely the fact its fully licensed is at times its own downfall, because we stuck playing the same predictable Manager Mode.

Fifa misses the Master League, without a doubt the biggest asset pro evo has. Even though PES has always been a bit of a mess to look at, menus, graphics (until now), sound, and some of the football at times isn't pretty, it has something that brings us all back to buy it! It must be said however, that it seems to be slowly dying.
