I haven't had time to play this since the weekend. I get the impression the weekend will be the only time I can play it properly.

Quick question: Can you go back to the side missions after completing the main story, like in GTA/RDR? I've only done one and I can't see myself doing many more while the story is ongoing. It's not like GTA or RDR, where you'll have lulls, giving you time to do other things, without straying from the main plot.

You certainly can. From the main menu you select 'cases', then you'll be able to select the department (homicide/vice etc.) and from there you can opt for 'free roam'

It's slightly clunky though as side cases are split between departments, so certain incidental crimes can only be done while working for Vice for example (either during the main story or via free roam though the case files). The collection aspects are available at all times.

In some respects you're better leaving the side cases for free roam as any accidents/damage etc. can negatively affect your case rating during the main story.

Thanks Fick. The main reason I don't want to deviate from the the main story is because it would just seem unrealistic. You wouldn't head off to a minor incident while in the middle of a major case.

Well, one reason for doing the street crimes is that (for the very first one you do, at least - I've only done one, so I'm not sure if it applies to each one) you get an intuition point for completing it, which come in handy to help you along with the main story cases.

I thought you earned the points each time you levelled up.. :erm:

Only used a few myself, I enjoyed gathering the evidence, between that and trying to read the faces and making sure you could back up any 'lie' calls it made it challenging.

I do know you can only store 5 points at one time though.

Shocker, or opening for a sequel/addition?

Really enjoyed this, it's a nice change of pace. Love the investigation & questioning aspect even though Cole is not really the most likeable character.

All I have left to do is drive the remaining 15-20 vehicles, a few locations, I'm 21 film reels in & only have 2 badges so far. Saying that, I'm not too fussed about 100% completion, I'd much rather have the next wedge of DLC cases.

Well they could easily make a sequel but as for the characters in this game it wasn' what I expected to happen, especially for Phelps.

Arson?

I know I had to wait for a while for the last 2 to come up. The Arson section of the game is more driven than the two prior so you find yourself driving around less. Annoyingly nearly all the incidental cases are the other end of the map from Hollywood station. You might have to wait, or re-do another street crime just to jog the games memory (which is what I think worked for me).

Have you scanned the whole map?

To be honest I thought Arson was the most boring desk out of them all, would rather have kept Vice going longer or Homicide.

Fair enough. I haven't really considered using the Intuition feature. I've just been gathering info and questioning people, like Fick mentioned. Then again, I think I've only done two cases, so perhaps they'll be needed further down the line.

I hated my partner during the vice section. He was such a slimy twat.

Best partner in the game is this guy:

One of these days picking up a hairbrush, a bottle of beer or a wooden spoon is going to be vital to a case. Well that's what I keep telling myself anyway. Arsenal When it shows you the vehicle/city damage at the end of a case, does that have any effect on anything at all?

This doesn't pertain to the case.
