PES 2012 UK Release Date: October 14th!

Ali

It is happening again
Only about 2 and a half months to go.

It's not that long to go. The wait will be over in no time.

I still find it odd that FIFA and PES are released so much later than the start of the league's seasons.
I wonder what type of hit PES feels with FIFA releasing 15 days earlier. Of course regular customers to each just come back but I imagine a lot of video game purchases are impulse buying and they lose the impulse by 15 days which likely equates to hundreds of thousands of units (if not more).

I think I read somewhere that Konami won't be using Steam at all which is a bit disappointing.

Personally i think it's a joke that the rest of the world get the game two weeks+ before the UK. They havent even given any reasoning. If it's some sort of marketing strategy against FIFA because they know FIFA dominates the UK market, then i think they have got it completely wrong. If they want to attract people attention then surely it should be released before FIFA.

I might order it from Europe and get it imported. As I play the PC version the BLES number is irrelevant.

Hopefully some shops will break release, they used to do this all the time but I think the rules are stricter now.

I know it sounds petty but it really fucks me off that we have to wait two weeks later that everybody else, its like konami aren't happy unless they piss off a certain amount of fans lol.

England is the home of football, all englishmen should recieve the game free of charge:ninja:.

^Ha, some questions I have because I get games from game.UK :(

But 2 weeks aren't that long. I prefer to wait and finally get a great game even though other countries get it earlier. ;)

I will be busy chasing cars and escaping cops in Driver san francisco so I won't mind that much.

Problem is mate, I might have to buy fifa to kill some time but I despise giving EA my money, hopefully the extra time will allow them to get squads up to date.

Maybe some other game other than football?

BTW, I am not agreeing with konami about the release dates. They should release them at the same time.

Do we in the UK get a cash bonus or anything to make up for the 2 week disadvantage in MLO? Bet you we don't. Get fed up of fighting an uphill battle against the sort of people that exploited the 3 own goal glitch last year for 2 weeks before we can even play the game.

All we want is a level playing field.

The commercial reasons that have been highlighted are more than satisfactory to explain Konami's reasoning.

If both games are released simultaneously then given the current climate one title will have an initial shit release week, with gamers picking up the other title a few weeks later after a doubtless initial price drop.

Konami cannot hope to compete with FIFA's draw, especially after last year's improvements and that of the FIFA licensing. I'm not saying it's right, just that, that is the way it is.

With that in mind, releasing a couple of weeks later gives a greater scope for more week 1 sales (at full price, remember), maybe even at the expense of FIFA trade-ins...

What people seem to forget is that Konami don't make PES just for fans, their primary concern is financial success. If their release strategy is wrong and sales don't generate a required revenue, then PES may not be around next year.

It is pretty silly though. It'll be interesting to see if they've changed MLO, because otherwise it'll be giving the UK players a disadvantage with buying players because the prices increase and within the first two weeks the prices will likely of sky rocketed, giving the earlier people an unfair advantage. Sure, it's just a game and it's not the end of the world, but still a little annoying in all honesty.
