KONAMI teases new PES 2012 companion to be unveiled at gamescom

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced it has appointed argonauten G2 to oversee an exciting new companion project for its forthcoming PES 2012 title called myPES. Full details of myPES will be revealed exclusively at gamescom in Cologne.

KONAMI will release PES 2012 on October 14th and is committed to providing users with a rich, all-round footballing experience. The European Headquarters of KONAMI and argonauten G2 originally discussed an idea to extend the competitive element that makes PES 2012 so playable, and have been working closely with the PES Productions development team in Japan to bring these ideas to life.

KONAMI will be outlining full details of myPES at this year’s gamescom in Cologne, where the game will be available for the public to play for the first time. “User feedback is vital in the development of the PES series,” commented Jon Murphy, European PES Team Leader. “As such, we are very excited about the possibilities myPES will bring, and look forward to fully explaining it in Cologne.”

“Pro Evolution Soccer is such an iconic brand and it is fantastic to be working so closely with the development team for myPES,” commented Maik Hofmann, Unit Director for argonauten G2 . “What we have planned will open new frontiers to players of PES 2012 and how they play the game, and we are very excited about showing what we have achieved at this year’s gamescom event.”

Anyone ideas regarding MyPes? Maybe really online leagues and things like that.. Sounds promising..

Still not very happy about this news.Konami should also make companion with other company for technical area such as motion capture since PES has lagged so much behind in this department for ages compared to EA's FIFA.

Sorry to sound like a cynical twat but "myPES" juts sounds like something those twats at EA would come up with and then spend two months and 3 press releases telling us how it revolutionizes the game.

It might be useful, but I can't be fucked with online gimmicks although I'm sure I'll find some use for it.

Meh.... don't care about online leagues.

I hate how everything is so online focused nowadays. Why can't companies understand that folks such as myself still have shoite internet and aren't able to play online that much. For me, online multiplayer will ALWAYS be secondary to single player.

@ roblucci = so its not bad news but good news that they are starting to work with third parties. Maybe next step is one of your wishes.

@ Ali_BWFC = I think the future will be online. Its much more fun to play competitions agains other players instead of playing agains an AI. Its good that the focus is here although i understand your point regarding acces to internet..

I hope they have found a very good solution to play indeed online competitions, cups and leagues in a good format. Fingers crossed!

This!

I hate it when playing online and you come up against some anti-football approachee who thinks that he'll use as much of the flawed mechanics to his advantage as possible! On the other hand, I don't mind the online on games such as CoD and BFBC...

Yeah but how good does it make you feel when you play good football with a worse team and beat them. Better than ... well not that good but you get the idea.

I don't play offline PES any more. MLO has revolutionised my view of the game. It's the singe greatest game mode in the history of football games.

i agree, but gotta admit there's alot to improve on for that mode...something like a different salary cap for each division would help ALOT

The whole point is though, Internet is becoming more revolutionary in sports games, but we coped all those years without it when PES had it's glory days and playing against a few mates while having a couple of beers is always gonna be more fun than playing 10 games in a row lagging against Barcelona.

+1

Exhibition mode all the way, with random teams so I get to use everyone in the game! (save for a few of the international teams.)

Im not complaining, im hoping the best of it. Really if they manage to reveal an online system where you can connect to something as facebook to organise online leagues and tournaments yourself on the konami server then i think we will have the most brilliant pes ever made...

But the reputation of Konami itself is that they will always shout from mountains if they find a new shitty crap new feature..

The fact that they have hired an third party in for this gives me hope. Especially since it is an company from abroad and Europe!

So still hopefull regarding this new MyPes since it has to do with online. That Football Life feature is dumb trust me, nothing news there only coachmodus..
