Just had a look at some of them. The guy doing a bloody give and go with his defenders - noob

Ha yeah or maybe thats konami's new player movement system... Wouldnt surprise me! haha!

I doubt it, it's just a general noob tactic. Hold L1 whenever you press x (or whatever it is on the xbox). Sure it makes your players move forwards, but it leaves you as wide open as a prostitute's vagingle.

I saw some good and bad in those videos. Some very tight animation play - I noticed several times where the pass was sent behind a running player so the AI made the player stop suddenly versus in 2011 where they would have kept going forward - also the running player lurched his shoulders forward to be able to counter and step backwards to gather the behind pass - very realistic looking maneuver.

One bad thing that stood out to me was that defenders backpedal at amazing speed. A few defenders changing direction must too fast during backpedalling than humanly possible. They need to be slowed down until they turn their hips and begin running forward.

I've noticed this in previous games. It makes it very hard to wrong foot them when they can just turn form left to right so easily.

A few things from that vid

Positives:

- Happy that AI in PES finally looks great , really great interplay and smart movements

- Happy that players are smart and aware of everything around them, unlike PES 2011 where they run over the line or into other players

- Happy that player cards mean alot more , for example Messi taking on players alot it seems having a incisive run card probably and so ( aswell as Robinho doing stepovers alot from another vid cuz he has trickster or whatever card )

Some potential negatives

- Barca rushing and attacking like maniacs when infact real Barca builds up very slowly, I hope that their gameplay is wrong and is all out attack because I would really hate if they YET again didn't get the posession play right for teams like Barca

- Why was Puyol rushing in attack once? He was actually crossing into the opponent box , what? Again hope the tactic used by Barca here is all out attack otherwise il be very pissed at things like this

- It seems to me that even defenders have incredible close control when running at speeds and tall defenders look incredibly agile?? Hopefully KONAMI just has crap stats because it looks quite unrealistic

- It seemed as if Barca players could outmuscle the real madrid ones easily which would be suggesting on higher difficulty the AI has better stats but its hard to say from this vid really it just seemed like that a few times, can't rly say

AI looks absolutely deadly, Messi in particular! Maybe this year when you get your originals team into the Champions League, you really will be clinging on for dear life against the likes of Inter and Real Madrid. Unlike 2011. Thing most impressed me was the pressing and the aggression of the attacking, finally might be what I've been wanting for years - a totally unforgiving AI that doesn't pull any punches. Here's hoping they don't bottle it with the final build. PES 2011 was in some ways better in the demo than the actual release.

in almost every PES 2012 videos I watched, there was always a player running forward after passing to another.that's the major bug I've seen lately.

^No, I think it's more of the players playing the game USING THE 1-2 PASS, because the AI doesn't make this all the time. :)

They should try and find some actually GOOD players for these vids.... instead of crap noobs.

New Features/Improvements

The AI engine has undergone a major overhaul, with attacking emphasised as the cornerstone of play affording a more open approach to play.
AI players, your team mates, will now make intelligent dummy runs off-the-ball to open up the defence, move into space, all reacting to your moves – the whole team now reacts far more dynamically to the actions of the player, moving strategically during passing.
Defence has had some changes too, however, with zonal marking and positional defending both enhanced. The Active AI system ensures that players track attackers more effectively, but without compromising the shape of the team, while one-on-one situations offer greater control as defenders press and jostle to win the ball, as attackers can use upper body feints and movements to bypass and wrong-foot their man.
A new player switching system allows users to change to any player on the field using the right analogue stick. On Free Kicks, players will have far more control with lots more scope for pulling defenders out of position.
The jostling system introduced in the last game has also been extended, making for a far more physical experience. It offers proper bodily contact and physical reactions.
Graphics have been improved, (see Gallery) with new animations, visual enhancements and control elements. Player facial expression are more detailed while lighting effects are more natural. New cameras show off the huge variety of pitch-side movement, with more detail on and around the game than ever before. Such is the level of graphical finesses that you can see players sweating, their neck muscles tensing as they call for the ball and bark orders to each other, and the muscles in their mouths and around their eyes contract to show the emotions the players are experiencing.
Referees are also crucial to general game flow and their AI has been greatly enhanced to ensure fewer interruptions to play. Decisions are improved, and advantage is played much more regularly in offside and free kick scenarios. As such, refs will only intervene when truly necessary, but they will show cards if necessary once play has broken down. [1]
Pass Support allows users to determine the level of AI assistance when passing the ball. Players can opt for one of five settings from full support, right up to full veteran setting which switches off all assistance so that the direction, weight and speed of every pass is at their disposal. [2]
Teammate Control gives users complete control over secondary players while the runner has the ball – represent an astonishing advance for the series. The Teammate Control system works in two ways, with users pressing the right analogue stick in the direction of the player they wish to control. The Assisted mode allows the user to activate a second player by depressing the R3 button, and allows users to get to grips with the greater level of control via effective running movements. Greater control is offered by the Manual mode, wherein the user has complete freedom of movement of the second player, and can make shuttle runs, find space, and shake off markers before calling for the pass from the player still with the ball. The player will then revert to computer control when the R3 button is released, and can also be used to override any AI runs the player wants to cancel. Both can be affected at any time, so players can make moves without waiting for a pass to be completed. [3]
Challenge Mode makes a return to the game. It gives the player a series of tough tests which they can use to hone various skills. The mode allows users to work hard on their attacking and defending skills to improve their main game. Similarly, there are dribbling tests and set-piece challenges that necessitate hitting a series of targets, and punishing shooting tasks are used to push the player as they put in the hours that will make all the difference on field. [4]
Superstar Difficulty is a new difficulty for experienced gamers, a step higher than top-player.

I hope Superstar doesn't increase AI stats at all, they simply can outplay you like a noob.

But if you are Barca for example and play against like... a club from idk Israel they would be much weaker than if you play against a big club.

^Good to know adam.

It does sound promising alot but as I always do, I will wait for at least the demo to judge, especially gameplay wise. Actually, I will wait for both demos to see if the 2nd one feels more finished.

A few things I've noticed that are extremely positive.

THE AI. Both your players and the way the AI plays against you. It no longer feels like a CPU, but more human.
They try to dribble you and ACTUALLY try to outsmart you not like in pes 11 or any other pes for that matter.
They also try to do moves against you and try to trick you. It's new for pes.
Your players move alot into open spaces and the general flow is much, much better. Reminded me of the flow that pes 5/6 had tbh. That was the thing missing from pes 11. Flow. The game didn't feel smooth and it put alot of people away.
Oh and the AI seems to play harder. I wonder if the players in the video played it at top player or not. But it cannot be SUPERSTAR because it has to be unlocked.
So if that was hard, then superstar would be a great battle. Something that lost it's way after pes 5. Yes pes 6 lost the difficulty that pes 5 had to offer.

These + the old features like Challenge training and 6th star difficulty are just wonderful to hear.

I need the demo now. :)
