No suprize about some reactions, typical teenage boys that know nothing about soccer.

lol at Steve who thinks its normal for a goalkeeper to already be at the penalty spot when someone is dribbling the ball 25 meters away from goal.

also ive tried in non training mode aswell and theres hardly any differences, the CPU still parks the bus with 8 people in the box so yeah.

So what's your issue with the keeper being there then, is he getting lobbed all the time?

Just saw this what Jon Murphy wrote:

Hello PES fans, I just got back from Japan and I’m happy to reveal the details of the second free update for PES2012 on PS3, Xbox360 and Windows PC which went live yesterday.

After our day-one patch and the first DLC for PES 2012, the current update allows us to revise some aspects detected in the game, and of course also reported by you guys via the official website, our PES facebook page, my twitter and our trusted forums.

On the Gameplay side, we’ve enhanced some aspects we consider very important at this moment, and which will result in a more challenging and realistic interactive football experience:

- The structure of GamePlan menu is changed for better usability. This will allow you to set-up your usual options and GamePlan changes quicker, with more time to play matches.

- GK actions are improved in general. You’ll feel this from the very beginning, the movements and reactions of the goalkeepers will be enhanced and now scoring, particularly from certain areas will be more challenging.

- The grounder Free Kick used to easily go through the wall. Now, it’s been made less successful, so you cannot count on this anymore. So, step up your free kick game and I suggest you watch this great Free Kick Tutorial for PES 2012: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jQQ22aNavcg

- Success ratio of penalties has been properly adjusted. I know this might not please everyone, but the chances are now more realistic as we aim to be the best soccer simulation we really had no choice on this.

We’ve also addressed some technical issues and hope you’ll see the benefit of a more fluent gaming experience. Follow me on twitter at www.twitter.com/JonMurphy_PES and tag your tweets with the #LLI hashtag in order to allow me to monitor your comments and suggestions, which are always welcome!

Personally speaking, I’m really happy the team changed all these points so quickly, as they really want to deliver you the best possible product! Many thanks again to all our supporters and their feedback!

I’ll now get back to my Jetlag.

Best,
Jon.

Well I just tried it a bit with the new patch and wtf lol.

The more I play this game the more I think KONAMI has no clue about soccer.

I agree with this statement even though your example is iffy.

I usually write long, and to some, pointless threads weighing the pros and cons of each passing patch/update. Suffice to say I'll keep this one short - this patch is rubbish.

Yep. But more importantly, the game and the engine are rubbish. If in 4 years, the obvious scripting and rails problems can't be sorted out, then NO PATCH WILL FIX THIS GAME.

This game can only be enjoyed by people who have no clue about soccer and how its played on a deeper level, its absolutely ridicilous.

Imo it shouldn't even be called a soccer game because it doesn't represent soccer.

It can only be enjoyed by people who don't have their own thoughts. Or, at least don't care if they aren't able to implement their ideas into the game.

Instead you have to let konami's rails system take the lead and make small adjustments.

Can someone tell me if 2vs2 online on the XBOX360 is put back into the game please?

I doubt it seeing as Mr Murphy hasn't mentioned it and he and Konami seem to refuse to accept that this feature is missing from the XBOX 360 even though it's on the box, in the manual and in the PS3 and PC versions.

hi all, I've only played PES for a few yrs, and I'm NOT a serious gamer like some of u here. anyway, my impression of this patch? i dont really notice any great difference. ive had the game for about 2 wks.

the thing that I find most frustrating about PES is that my defenders seem to just watch the ball go by next to them instead of making a simple interception. I've conceded many goals resulting from this. and when I switch players, a lot of times I end up with someone not closest to the ball.

another thing I think they should fix: the colour of the referee's shirt sometimes is the same as one of the team's. and the colour of the goalie's shirt sometimes is the same as the infield players. did anyone notice this?

but despite all the faults that this game has, I still play it becoz my friends and I get a good laugh out of it when we play against each other. I also play against online players randomly, and I've lost just about every game, my winning % must be down to single digit by now, I'm really not very good at this.

Big surprise they haven't put it back in. What a big steaming pile of bs. Nonsense about how they "had to remove it". Why do they lie? Why not just tell the truth? That someone made a big doodo and left it out by mistake hence it's still in the manual and in the PS3 and PC versions. It quite clear they care so much about their beloved customers.

To me it seems like keepers and free kicks haven't been touched at all. Still many bloopers at both ends and cpu still score on every free kick they get. The only major difference i noticed is that my through balls can actually go through sometimes after the patch

Haven't had time to try the patch yet, I removed patch 1.01 and was loving the game playing the game out of the box just with dlc applied, hopefully the patch hasn't changed anything for the worse otherwise I will go back to 1.00 even with dodgy keepers the game feels superb.

Keepers most definitely have improved at least online, I saw a point blank save from a header that would have gone in every time pre patch, from a cross.

I have no issues whatsoever implementing my ideas in game. Unless konami has takes over my mind when I play. I can only assume people are playing with assisted pass bars, shooting, clearing etc

And that's why you shouldn't assume....

And no konami doesn't take over my mind , they just take over my players...

I like the new patch , goalie seems brand new again. Here are some other comments.

It adds improved goalkeeper performance - like I said, no more Pato burst past keeper

Removes the stuttering effect during running - never had a problem with this

makes small adjustments to the penalty - I had two penalties saved online vs some dude, I used Rooney and took the shot to the left corner but was saved. BOTH TIMES.

and free-kick systems and fixes some small bugs that have been reported.
Changes have also been made to the structure of the Game Plan menu, making them easier to navigate and use with this new PES 2012 Patch 1.02. - nothing seems change for freekick and Game Plan screen

Gav I just don't seem to have issues that you bring uP with my defenders going walk about. I personally play a high line generally on 15-16 and use offside. Only frustration will be if a fb decides not to step up, which is annoying but that can happen in real life. The only time I have issue with cursor control is at times the manual 2nd man gives me the wrong person. I play semi assisted cursor, it will give the right person basically Everytime as I use the r analog to switch players.

No worries Orlando. I don't have any problems with the silly errors that defenders sometimes make as it happens in real life.

Seriously, I only play of fully manual (0 bars), semi-assisted, and everything assisted off except for clearances. And I only really play online.

My major problem is the lack of control and freedom. Like I said earlier, I feel that almost everything is random and completely up to konami. It's ridiculous when I'm trying to do something, the game just takes over and....

1. won't let me move or
2. won't let me change player or
3. Will only change between the two players that can't affect the play or
4. Will just switch my cursor for no reason or
5. Will change the recipient of my pass to someone much farther away.

Way too many times I've seen my opponent pick up the ball in midfield and look to chip it to the one player against my three. And no matter what, my players will not respond until his player picks up the ball on the breakaway.

Or I'll be standing there and some forcefield will not allow me to touch the ball. And in fact, at times, makes me run away.

This is with using L1 as well as R.

Mate I'd like to hear more experiences on this 1.00 --> 1.02. Personally I'm too lazy to uninstall patches to try earlier iterations, but it would be nice to hear your thoughts on the difference though when you got more experience :)

I am being a little petty on this one, but I wish they would update the color of the Nike Seitiro ball.

I havent yet tried the patch but are you freaking kidding me??? How is the non ability to dribble the keeper improvement? lmfao no wonder so many ppl still like this crap game, if someone like Messi goes one on one hes going to get past the keeper 9 times out of 10.

You obviously haven't played the game much.

Rounding the keeper was absolutely ruining the game online because it was so easy. It seemed like half the goals scored were always one on one rounding of the keeper. Not realistic at all and far far too easy to pull off.

Konami have noticed the exploit and fixed it - big up to them for that.

Yea it was far too easy, now its far too hard.

KONAMI doesn't know any middle ground, either they make something too weak or too OP.
