stopping barcelona?

well im just sick of this, this is so not-real I mean WTF.. i play against friends and barcelona is just impossible to beat, especially messi (uh yeah, best player in the world) is just impossible to take down, it can simply run straight 4 of my defenders, and if i EVER get to take the ball outta him its automatically a fault (even if i didnt touch him)
OFC, messi can also kick from anywhere and always get it into the goal, even if he was looking anywhere else or marked by 2 defenders... its just stupid...
ofc, barcelona through-passes always seem to get in, while their defenders mostly always close up everytime i try a through pass (sometimes in my case, my own defenders open up for the pass to go in.. ive even tryed super cancel but wont stop it.. and ofc, after the pass gets to messi its pretty much game over)

idk.. its just annoying idk what to try anymore lmao, sounds bad but its really annoying, its pretty much messi, its just that EVERY TIME he gets the ball near the goal its just over.. not even 4 defenders can stop him running thru the middle...

It is not an excuse if you dont know how to play the game. Use X with R2 to stop Messi. I struggeld initially playing against barca, but I have no issues now.

yes u can practice and eventually u can contain messi but now an then he is impossible to stop, a descent pes player wouldnt pik barca as far as i am concerned, its only crap players who have no who skill pik barca to give them a chance of winning

Won't work considering they'll dribble with messi in circles to try trick you.
Anyway if you contain then stick a leg out, because of messi's 97 agility, he'll most likely escape the challenge

its you who are playing against ppl who dont know how to play the game, the problem here is messi, who i cant even take down with circle, its just impossible, and not really possible to see a player that goes thru 4 defenders standing right in front of him, or can just circle and get away or anything, and then always shoot from anywhere and get it right in the goal's angle...

ive tryed X with R2, square, geez ive even tryed setting my 2 defenders to mark him all the time... its annoying


for the record, IT IS messi, everytime he isnt in conditions (blue arrow) and gets taken out i normally win for 2 goals or more, the thing right now is that the times he gets near the goal with messi its 90% goal..

Barcelona are beatable. This what I am using:

4-3-2-1 formation. Put the full backs in line with the centre backs

For your tactics, you want:

player support 20
support range 20
position switch 5
Attacking style 0
Pressing 20
defensive line 20
compactness 0

Play with an offside trap and set the preset to 'defensive'

This will work but you need to be comfortable with keeping posession, playing triangles and understanding how to use one-two's to drag defenders away to create space. Basically, some knowledge of how to actually play football!

The high line is essential, you will win it back quicker and those people who just punt it straight down the middle can be rooted out easily. Holding R2 on a through ball will keep the centre back facing the right way to make an interception.

If you don't keep the ball you will get battered. You must use the through ball yourself very, very sparingly and be wary of where you give the ball away given how high the line is. I play as liverpool or rubin kazan, and I dominate all the games I play. Real madrid can easily be handled playing this style. And it will also work against messi, because 1) he will have further to run to get to the goal and does actually tire 2) your two centre backs will be pushed right up against him

When scripting kicks in though, theres nothing you can do. But learn how to keep the ball and you'll enjoy it a lot more. Just aim to play good football instead of looking for a 60 yard killer ball and goal every time you can!
