FIFA 12 Discussion

I haven't encountered that off-side or red card bug, nor the goal keeper issue . I've given away and won penalties from the GK bringing down the attacker and have only seen one red card (given to me). The CPU GK seems to get no more than a yellow, though.

The problems I seem to come across are clean tackles given as fouls; tackling the CPU never resulting in winning the ball (always seems to end up with them, or a throw in/corner); loose balls always ending up with the CPU; and CPU players made out rock (no matter their size, you end up bouncing off them).

Wonder if EA are getting the January Transfers ready to release, the servers have been dreadful tonight. bamahmm:

^I am surprised they haven't updated them already. EA Madden does it almost daily. PES will have the ready by...mmmmmm..... March 15th.

EA normally release it mid Feb, they tend to update stats as well as transfers. Plus having to create some players who aren't in the game. Then Microsoft have to test it before they can release the update.

Not sure what Playstation do, most likely something similar.



On a different note, few things I wish EA would fix for Fifa 13. When there are snow games all players have long sleeves and they use the Nike Hi Vis football rather than the generic EA orange one. More weather options, for example Emirates is only night or day and constantly sunny during the day. More customization options, able to choose players to wear that under armour thing as well as where you put 'ankle' tape, some players have it more the middle of the shin than the ankle.

The biggest thing I'd love to see is Madden-esq presentation, they've improved on recent games but still more they could do. Would love to see actual Sky Sports logo during the game, they seemt to have it when you play the career on the main menus but not during games. Afterall they do have the Sky Sports commentary team.

I'm currently in Division 5, had 5 straight promotions and my overall record at the moment is: 33-8-12 (W-D-L)

The bastard scored against me in my Millwall game too to earn Portsmouth a draw. He is clearly much better than most of the Championship players in the game.

It was strange - in my first season with Portsmouth, in the Championship, I played him up front on his own in my 4-2-3-1 formation and he was pretty crap. Then I got promoted, tried him up front on his own again and he's been awesome. Almost won the Golden Boot last season.

Jay Simpson was the only reason I managed to do well in my career mode. I used a 4-3-3 with Bouazza and Feeney either side of him, some serious pace. Darius Henderson has much better stats overall but he is a bit slow and has a heavy touch on the ball so I ended up selling him to Birmingham for about £500k.

Have you used the youth academy much in your game? I gave a contract to a Turkish goalkeeper I had in my youth squad and despite his low stats he was much better than my first choice David Forde. For some reason he's really good at saving with his feet, especially on 1-on-1 situations.

I've got my VP playing for my Portsmouth team, so...yeh. Although he did hand in a transfer request in the last transfer window, but I decided to keep him. Of the signing's I've made, probably the best was a guy called Bergougnoux who plays RAM and links up very well with Huseklepp and my VP. I also got my goalkeeper J. Smith on a free. He was just on the free agents list, has a rating of 77 and asks for barely any wages. Aside from that, I've got quite a lot of use out of the loan system - I had Ignasi Miquel in my first season, then signed him permanently. Also, I've also had Josh McEachran and Moritz Leitner on loan, who have done well.

As for the Youth system, I'm trying to use it, but I've only done two seasons so far, so haven't had much of a chance to develop players. Also, my scouts are pretty poor. I've promoted a few players so far (Matsura, Mishima, Angelin, Peskovic, Jamieson) - they all have potential, but none of them are quite good enough yet. Mishima was the one who played the ball to Huseklepp for that goal.

I promoted my Turkish goalie Akman within the first season. I tried out a South Korean winger and he doesn't seem quite ready for the first team so I'll probably try to loan him out. I too made use of the loan system bringin in Florain Trinks from Werder Bremen and Ishak Belfodil from Lyon. In terms of permanent signings, I brought in Andrezinho from FC Koln, Alan Smith from Newcastle, Nilton from America RJ and Greg Cunningham from Manchester City. I've also just loaned Frimpong from Arsenal to help with my first season in the Prem. I've only played one game in the Prem so far, a 2-1 defeat at home to Man U, who have Ozil and Higuain. :facepalm:

Did you get any thrashings in your first season? I got Chelsea in the League Cup Semi Final then also got them in the FA Cup 3rd round. Managed to keep the score down in one of the Semi Final legs and the FA Cup game but the other Semi Final leg they thrashed me 6-0.
