Pes this year is tremendous, manual shooting is terrific and combined with manual passing, makes for some fantastic realistic gameplay. Online gaming is nothing special though but dont let FIFA fool you either go have a look at forums around for all the sales and the plaudits fifa gets players are the biggest complainers I have ever seen. I hope EA have a good team preparing some sort of patch because the complaints are ridiculous. I reckon this may be the year FIFA gets trading in instead of PES cause at the moment I cant put it down. Never before have I had such a realistic master league where some times my team just dont turn up, hit the wood work and and end up on the wrong end of 3-0 at home. If you can get beat and still enjoy the game thats when you know its good.

For me FIFA wins online but for normal gameplay PES wins

Fifa wins in every way possible except, colors on screen, I like the PES color tone better. You cant even compare online seriously... no such thing as online with PES :realmad:

I disagree, although I have yet to play this years FIFA I am basing my opinion on FIFA 12. PES 2013 beats FIFA 12 gameplay hands down and from what I have read about FIFA 13 it seems to be an updated version of 12 with some minor tweaks.

Personally, and it's just my opinion. I for one find the unnatural feel of passing in PES 2013 really irritating...it feels way more natural in FIFA 13. PES definitely has more depth to it's gameplay, that I won't deny.

PES13 is a major step in the right direction, and I'm excited to see what will happen next year when the new engine will be introduced. If they can have this gameplay of PES13 with the natural animation system of FIFA, I'll probably jizz myself.

In itself I would say pes's gameplay is probably tops this year, and yes gameplay is very important, the most important aspect of a sports game. Is it everything? No.

How long will a sports game last you if there were only exhibition games? Personally it won't last me long at all.

This is where FIFA shines, it has online that works pretty well, and regardless of your opinion of FUT, it's another great time consuming option which can be a lot of fun. Also since Konami went and fucked up FL, what do we have? League mode? no...nothing. I would've bought PES13, but decided against it after finding out what they did to FL. This years career mode in FIFA, is IMHO one of the best career/franchise modes ever in any sports game.

Gameplay is the biggest aspect to any sports game, but it certainly isn't everything. The whole package is what matters at the end of the day, and that is why I cannot get enough of FIFA 13. The gameplay, though inferior to PES13, is not terrible, and a lot better than last year. The Career mode is perfect, and the presentation is top-notch. It does add a lot to a match if you hear the commentators discussing storylines in career mode...much better than some washed up cutscene with subtitles...

I'm very optimistic if PES can continue to build on this years game, but for now I'm sticking with FIFA.

You have a staggering amount of ignorance OCKRASS...

Complaints threads about PES is mainly towards the lack of league mode, or the new boots feature in FL. The raw gameplay is a clear winner to PES, where basically everything else is won by FIFA.

Don't make it sound like you say it's OK to like an inferior game, because from a technical point of view, the inferior game is not decided. You also praised FIFA12 up in the skies, a game that is so flawed that it makes PES2012 shine like the Betlehem star.

I wish you no ill, I just wish you would develop a sense of reflection around your opinions. It would make you sound less underdeveloped when you reply as well, just a friendly suggestion.

Sorry but what a disgustingly arrogant post that is.

OCKRASS's post was fair and balanced compared to that! At least his was only an opinion, not a personal attack.

For the record I agree that the PES series is absolutely woeful and has been for a while. FIFA may not be all that either but it does at least feel like a complete game with proper production values and a team that has a clear direction for the series. What Konami give with one hand they take away with the other every year.

You seem to have a really low tolerance of people who criticise PES Sabatasso. I would suggest it is you who should develop a sense of relfection about other people's opinions.

Just a friendly suggestion of course.

I've read more than 50 of Ockrass's posts, so my comment wasn't based on this one alone, have you read any at all?

Subjectivity is always an issue, and everyone have some degree of it, I just find his opinions more subjective than the norm.

Anything else you wanted, puttz, or am I too arrogant for you?

Perhaps you should take each individual post on it's merits rather than prejudicing your replies based on what people have said in the past? I didn't judge your post based on some of the utter drivel I've read from you in the past. I based my comment on that post and that post only.

I thought your reply to OCKRASS's post was way OTT considering what he actually said. There was no need to react in the way you did IMO.

The fact that you cant see that or even apologise for it does actually make you a tad arrogant. Since you asked.

I think PES 2013 is improved on Game play, passing and other aspects, certainlly it has old unsolved issues like AI cheating etc, but when i
play pes 2013, i can feel the positives and effort konami put in the game attempting to bring PES back on the right track, BUT... Where is
the RIGHT TRACK, What is it? does it really exist? or maybe there has never been a Perfect soccer sim(RIGHT TRACK STANDARD) like PES 6(not perfect at all), hopefully there will be one coming out in my life time, i doubt that though. I am optimistic about PES but not blindly.

IMO PES 2013 is best PES game since PS3 platform was out. Yes, the
game has tons of problems or weakness big and small, yet I d rather
get 2 red cards, lose like 3:1, and score a fantasic goal(on topplayer LV) which i ll remember along with its build up process for the rest of 2012 and 2013 than doing nothing or playing other shitty video games.

If KONAMI can make right decisions, solve old issues, further more--
listen to what PES fans really want, obviously it is easy to say than
done, but who knows, maybe PES 2014 will turn out to be legendary....... or like usual tradition, one step forward, two steps backwards or worse.

I spent past 5 months playing Skyrim or Dark souls(not on daily basis) until my fingers hurt, both are good games, but both have some shortcomings..... so just like in PES 2013. I want to play PES 2013 for
a change, have not finished Dark souls yet, but can be bothered to
farm souls in Darkroot garden at the ledge corner next to stair way slope, too bloody boring.

By the way, you just can not score goals in Dark souls with Drake sword.

I do hope one day a British video game developing company can make a
great soccer sim which can surpass both EA's FIFA and KONAMI's, at
least give them some pressure of industry competitions to drive things
forward which is significant for any soccer sims game developing. Because SOCCER was originated from UK and introduced to the world
in modern era, Brits know what soccer really is all about by heart, they
should produce solid good soccer video games.

good luck to all PES gamers.

Oh please...

Please see the post below. May seem a bit harsh, but I can't been seen to be weak now, can I?

Fellas, there is already a thread for PES vs Fifa discussion:

http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=91104

So let's try and sway this discussion back to the apparent "sublimeness" of PES 2013. Next person to mention Fifa gets a booking...... on the house! No charge or nothing! :ninja:

I agreed until i recently started playing online ranked and every match resulted in stupid scores 7-0 6-1 5-3 6-4 thorugh ball is a joke and are the people who press it the moment they win possesion, and every single shot seems to result in a goal, very dissapointed

Go here. Copy Klashman's Barca formation. Next time you are playing some Barca/Real whore, choose Barca (it works with Spain just as well and arguably even better, albeit with there sometimes being the need for a slight modifcation due to lack of quality SS players in Spanish squad), use that formation, and aim to play short passing ping pong football, slowly building possession up to opposition penalty area, at which point you are looking for weak point to dink a short through ball through or opportunity to turn dribble past defender into shooting opportunity.

Play like this until you begin to understand how the game is best exploited. After this, no matter what team you choose, you will be more likely to play the game in a 'profitable' manner and those shocking scores will be a thing of the past.
