Tactics thread 2013

Problem is, defensive line is a crock of bullshit. I put my backline as close to my gk as possible, use the slider on 0 and my team still get caught out by high through balls with my back 4 around the centre circle.

This game is very, very good from what i can see.

I will start with Barca as usual:

Player Support 0
Support Range 0
Position Switch 10
Attacking Style 20
Pressing 20
Defensive line 20
Compact 0

(pretty much the exact same as last year but making sure the second strikers are put very, very close together)

For general information.

The above formation is an absolute fkn killer!

I have been beasting online 'Superstars' with it left right and centre.

Once you get the ball in possession with them tightly packed superstar midfielders, you can practically just shut your eyes and spam the pass button and you will still hold onto the ball.

Be aware many teams, have no specified tactic for slot 2 :)

Barcelona:

Arsenal (old version, don't use the long ball):

Atletico:

Some nice work there Klashman, but I have advice for anyone looking for some good formations to take online.

With PES 2013, you can either play a very tight narrow passing game (for this, you need extraordinarly good midfielders (Italy, Juve, Barca), or you play a fast breaking long ball game for which you need fast wing players and good strikers.

As far as PES 2013 is concerned, if it isn't utter midfield domination, or long ball, then go home.

Also any formation that has anything other than a very deep defensive line set (with exception of a team that will really dominate like Barca) is quite frankly, suicidal.

kIt is very good Klashman great job with this. Thank you!
Go with other big teams like Napoli, Lazio, Inter, Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Marseille, valencia, villareal.

I will say again, these formations may be nice for offering a variety of gameplay styles in the offline game, but go online with any of these formations which isn't basically a long ball (highly attacking, very deep defense) formation, and you will pay a very steep price.

The exception to this rule is his first Barca formation (the latter one leaks through-balls like hell), but this can be used only with teams with ultra high grade CMFs and CB's and full backs. Even then, support needs to pushed up to '10'.

They are formations...not line ups.

Well, we are talking about a game, and as such formations in my opinion should be built at the height of their potential '...

Hi Klashman

Thank you very much for your tactics guide in details.

You deserve a round of applause from PES gamers world wide for such
an outstanding effort. You should make In-game manual for KONAMI.:)

My question is:

How do you set up tactics against D2 league fake teams which normally
use 3-3-2-2== RB CB LB, CMF DMF CMF(or 2 AMF), LMF RMF, 2CF (they use Long Ball strategy)?

As I am really depressed and stressed out by those teams who can usually manage to score at least 1 goal each match(Topplayer LV), I am
playing ML using original lineup.

Does other forum members have good advice or ideas about this?

Thanks in advance

thank you, Mod Ali

Sorry Mods, Admins, I want to edit my post, but could not find where the EDIT button is as I made a mistake to my post(as quoted above) about fake teams formation which should be 3-3-2-2, 2 CFs.

Dont mean to confuse peoples in the forum.

Thank you, Klashman, for first putting up descriptions about the slider system and what different ranges and values pertain to in terms of how teams - both CPU and human - perform in the game, and secondly for sharing tactics for various teams with the community.

Also, the positions and slider values you've put up for different teams feel, to me, very close to how we see those teams perform in real life. For example, I used your values for Man Utd and then played with and against them, and in both cases it felt very satisfying to play in a manner that's similar to how they do so in reality.

It's amazing that your understanding of the slider system is such that you can replicate real world performance in a game.

Thank you for what you've contributed to the community so far, and I look forward to any additional tactics and values you put up for people to enjoy.
