I am about done with this online, it seems i am missing something my passes are always cut out, i cant play a through ball from ten yards away yet my opp are constantly pinging them pin poit from about 100yards, i cannot press x to tackle without a foul and mostly a red card, i always seem to have more possesion but end up losing to people who arent even good mostly thanks to something mentioned above.

Is there a certain way to play this online or what?

To be honest your probably better off not playing online. I have given up as all the games are the same. Pass pass through ball, pas pass through ball, pass pass through ball.

Nobody has the skill to try and play different styles no matter what team they are. Online is extremely repetitive and people are only interested in the easy goal. Shame on you lot!

I played 6 games last night... ALL AGAINST REAL MADRID! ALL the same crap, counter attack, through pass to Ronaldo or Benzema who are both superhuman. Gets so f'n boring and annoying ! These ppl need to get skills! STUPID KONAMI! They put a filter for pass assist but no filter for teams!

everyone online on pes is really really good , guessing cos there are less kids playing


passes are always cut out cos of the new active ai , whats you psn il give you a game im low skill online 45 lost 3 wins i think

you say they need to get skills yet you still lose to them , search for full manual players then you won't have to worry


TBH there is never going to be a team filter , people play online to win so they will use the best teams , they also do this on fifa its life deal with it or play offline

It might be true that many people use through pass alot to try to score and some use barca or madrid to win. And I like them to do it ( make it easy for me to choose the formation of my team), I dont remember the last time I lost against someone because of through pass.

I play mlo and often plays against players with ronaldo and messi in their team, but it is no problem. If you def right you wont lose (unless you are unlucky).

My way of play is to create a good and balanced def, play poss if opp is strong and play counter if opp is weaker. In my last 20 games I lost only 2 times ( my best player was ramos ).

I didn't say I lose to them, I said its annoying to play the same team and the same exact style every single game. I do beat them a good majority of the time but YES I do lose to them too! A blind monkey could use Real Madrid in this game and get lucky and win a few games.

no one online is going to change , people play to win only , your better off playing friends or offline


as for me i couldn't give a **** who i play how they play and what team they pick

sorry but I get bored of playing vs Real Madrid evey single game... Im sure almost everyone else on here agrees. You sound so defensive, do you play with Real all day online??? Is that why you defend the little punks so much? Play to win what?? what are we winning becuase I do a lot of winning online without using Real Madrid or Barca and I haven't received a dime from anyone! :rolleyes: The game is meant to play and have fun with it.

I m really surprised lots of users claim they actually like the gameplay this year..I honestly think gameplay favours LIKE NEVER BEFORE people who just wait to steal a ball near their defence and simply attempt long long long through balls towards a very fast attacker..the result is totally UNREALISTIC..so this year's gameplay under no circumstances favours possesion and creative play..
A friend says that he rarely concedes from long through balls because he defends right..he never explained ''right'' though..unless right defending means I buy the fastest defenders available..he mentioned sth like ''possesion'' vs better sides and ''counter attack'' vs weaker sides but this is waaay too general

It is becoming really boring very fast.I thought once i got my team up to a pretty decent level i would enjoy things more.But the reality is i enjoyed it more when i was building up to that team on MLO.Nowthe game is boring nearly every game pans out the same way when you face the 1000 rated team Dominate possesion create chances only for them to spam it to Aguero and score.They say scripting happens against the lower teams well scripting to me also favours the superstar quick counter teams.How else can you dominate these guys hit post after post after you finally get through Buffon just for them to then go straight up the park from a simple though ball and score.

It is not all of them that do it though as i have been taught a few football lessons by these guys as well but they sre very much in the minority.Let them play against their own like Konami and see how muchthey then enjoy the game and let the rest of us get on with it.

less pressing & deeper defensive back 4 plus learning to use the offside trap will stop the long ball merchants & then just out pass them. It's all about finding the style & team to fit it or vice versa. That's the beauty of MLO, it's challenging & there's other mini leagues now too & you can find a gem of a player who could be good for you but not for someone else.

You seem like a very bad player. I suggest you get good and then you might be able to win some, although this is a big assumption.

Another bad player. Pick Real Madrid then to win. Bad players complain, good players win.

I don't have much trouble winning against that kind of play style, its just kind of said how unrealistic this game as become in terms of football simulation. A game where 90% of the times just takes 2 or 3 passes, finishing in a long through ball to create a scoring chance; A game where AI player runs are a complete desaster and the worst I can remember in the series (actually this is what annoys me the most); A game that requires mostly the timing of making a long through ball to win.
I got bored of playing online, not because I lose, but because its like playing the same guy over and over again. Even the PC can be more creative.

You are probably someone who is so far down in the rankings. You probably stopped playing to preserve the little dignity you had from all those landslide losses ahahaha.

stick with it, reggie. accept that you're going to lose lots of games to begin with, especially against players that have played a lot more games than you have. keep persevering and eventually, it will 'click'.

try messing around with different tactics offline (not just the formations and sliders, but also marking, strategies, assistance settings, etc).

also, i don't mean to be patronising (i'm not particularly good myself), but make sure you learn the new defensive moves in the training mode.

if you're playing mlo, it certainly gets a bit easier once you have some (slightly) better players. if you're not playing mlo, give it a try as you still get some reward for not winning and have the pleasure of acquiring players.

finally, check the forums for advice on dealing with through balls.

We really should keep this on topic... unless we want to sound like bickering kids.

Online plays differently to the game in general. I myself play on TOP player and am doing ok vs the CPU in general but online sometimes I can dominate and at other times no. There is a big skill mix.

My advice

Practice offline.
Practice exhibitions online.
See what the better players online do against you - try to replicate some of their good play.
Realise what your strengths and weaknesses are online and try to play to them.

A big strength of mine is that I am quite versatile with my gameplan and I never tend to give up easily and if one thing isnt working I try another approach. A weakness of mine is sometimes I can anticipate what the other player will do but still dont defend against it, lol.
