Yes the stadium editor is gone. Only 20 stadiums in game. No Spanish stadiums and no rain. What's the point in pes anymore? Never advancing. They give you better graphics and take away the stadium editor. They give us the Brazilian league and take out league mode. They give us back league mode and take out all the above. Another year of disappointment then. So we are left with gameplay now which will probably have crap keepers or bad defenders etc...might as well stick with crappy 2013 then..at least that has all the above that's been takin out this year.

That's clearly nonsense why they are holding back on the PC demo.
There is a big online community on the PC so they aren't going to not want to cash in on that are they? Lots of PC games are pirated so should PC gamers be grateful for every crumb that we are given off the game developers table because of this?

Not nonsense at all, they specifically stated no PC demo this year because last year people looked into the files and revealed teams that were in that game that hadn't officially been announced yet. You've missed my point. Its primarily what the community did with the demo (which is illegal mind you) that made Konami hold back.

Alo where are people getting that there wont be rain or a limited amount of stadiums. Source please.

good post

I have mentioned it here before but will mention it again now:

Seabass stepped away from 2013 so he would work with the fox engine for 2014. Two full years and they can't implement rain? Can't implement a stadium editor. What have they been doing for two years? I would like to know more why stadium editor has been removed - he says he can't get into it - but it sounds like they have fallen short. If stadium editor is removed because of licensing, surely kit editor would so I can't buy it is as licensing issues.

Two full years and they are still writing code and can't release a demo on time. Amazing.

I agree...waiting and waiting each year thinking this will be the one when pes becomes the top football game around. Year in year out handing over 50 euros for an unfinished second rate game.

Let me make this clear. I am not happy about no rain.
But at this point in time do I really care about rain? No. After 2 years of not playing football games (last I enjoyed was pes 2011 and before that, fifa 09 and 10), I think that it would be stupid to care about add ons and not care about the core of the game.

I could have a finished game and call it a finished game, BUT if the core is not done right, what would be the point?

At this point in time, for me, the game play is the only thing that matters because in all honesty, if the game has rain but bad gameplay, does rain really matter? NO. I would still stop playing it.

Even stadiums. If the game turns out good, I would end up feeling annoyed by the fact that there's only 20 or so stadiums. But at least, I would still keep on playing because the enjoyment does not come from add ons or enhancements, it comes from the core gameplay especially in football games.

I stopped playing pes 13 even though it had rain and a stadium editor. Why? Because it had other huge problems with the AI, defensive AI and scripting.

The Stadium editor is to do with Licensing issues. Much like when they were told they would have to limit the player creator.

as for rain, yeah sucks, but if they implemented it half assed you still would have complained, and you would have had an ongoing inconsistent and poor aspect of the game.

PES14 looks to be the best PES since PES 6. Missing rain and a few stadiums doesn't change that.

To be honest , I never liked playing in rain condition in any PES edition before , but seeing the development team failed to implement some feature is just disappointing ! and for an unexplained reason ! Hope fully they will bring back "Afternoon" game time after all at least , which they stupidly removed from 2013 ...

Some people wanted snow in PES , now they removed rain lol .... Hilarious !

What's hilarious is people stop playing the games regardless of rain, snow and stadiums not making it into the game. Why? Because they don't matter in the grand scale of things.

Yes, even I was disappointed, but TBH I stopped playing pes 12 and 13 because of some deep issues I had with the AI, defence and scripting that outdid the fact that rain and stadium editor were in.

If the gameplay is as good as some of the response from people that played it had given it, would rain really matter? That's the question you need to answer to yourself.

Besides, remember that if Pes 14 really is this much of an improvement on the animations and physics engine as well as the AI, you have to keep in mind that this will be running on an outdated system with only 512 mb of memory. Something has to give.

But I am only talking as if Pes 14 would be great. That however, remains to be seen. I still have my doubts here and there. The demo should be the deciding factor for me.

Only thing im pissed at is the dots on the free kicks. I know it can be switched off but just hope its permanently off online. It is going to be boring seeing EVERY shot on target, not very real in my opinion. Bad move Konami.

NEWS!!!

Look demo, no demo!

I do not know if Konami is quoted on exchange, but if so, you probably would stock index fell below the limit of how amateur this year seem to be those from Konami. After a lot of marketing mistakes, here also offers a new Japanese bomb released a demo for PS3 on PSN platform, much earlier than the release date, a demo which was later removed after a few hours.

If you want a demo:

marketing mistake

I think it's a bit harsh to blame Konami for the demo going up on PSN then being quickly removed. Personally I think it is a Sony issue as the most likely explanation is that when we were going to get 2 demos one was scheduled for yesterday & Sony forgot to remove it from their list & whet up only to be quickly pulled.

PES 2014 – OMITTED WEATHER, TEAMS AND STADIA

PES EU Community Manager, Adam Bhatti, has returned to his old stomping ground within the PES community, the WENB forums, to share some news about rain not making it into the retail version of PES 2014 – and other omissions.

“Rain has not been implemented for 2014 as we had to overhaul the whole game and build it from scratch. While implementing rainy weather itself is fairly feasible, we need to think through of how its effect shows through in gameplay. This includes the pitch becoming slippery, ball bouncing, some elements to make the team used to that climate somewhat more power in terms of balance.

We are going to try further this year to get the elements sorted and have them implemented for 2015.

As for the kits getting dirty, this triggers on multiple requirements, often to do with the player contacting the ground.”
- He went on to mention that there has been a significant reduction in the number licensed stadia – with numbers now down nearer the 20 mark, something that has happened as a direct result of EA being “extremely aggressive with signing deals with clubs and leagues this year”. The particular loss is the entire Spanish league – all of which were licenced in PES 2013. Not one Spanish stadium will be in PES 2014.

- That was also compounded by the fact that there will also be no stadium editor in PES 2014 too.

- Also, a few of the other European teams haven’t made it into the final game too (details are still TBA).

I urge you to read his full post though – and notice his choice of location for his piece. He clearly speaks like a man that has felt personal pain as a result of this news and has chosen a place where he can share it on an equally personal level. A place where he can interact with the community directly.

What we can take away from all of this though is that we have a community voice; someone that wants to be open, honest and frank with the PES community. We have never had that before. How many of you (particularly those that have been on the forums for more than 2 years) have said the worst part about Konami’s relationship with the fans was the silence? The lack of information? Well, we have it – and not just about the easily marketable things too. Having a dedicated Community Manager for the brand, I think, is a huge step forward (even with this example being based on a negative reveal).

When all is said and done… The one thing (other than Top Flight licences) that is always asked for from the PESFan community is a football game that plays superbly. Just take a look at the impressions rolling out on Twitter from the fast-acting few that managed to get their hands on the demo-that-never-was earlier today, and it seems like business on the pitch is finally hitting the sweet spot… And that is an unfinished code.

It’s nice for immersion and realism to have 60+ stadia, extra licences teams etc. – but if we have the best game of football that the series has seen to date, does that really matter?

Vitaliss Everyone is entitled to their opinions :; Brilliant PR either way anyway as it created a huge amount of posts on Twitter & all the forums.

Also on a different subject, good work on posting screens & news, but when you pull a whole post from another site such as the one above from PESFan it might be nice to include a credit or link to the original source.
