After playing both demos, FIFA is definitely more polished but felt like it was too slick, pes feels more realistic to me. Scoring a goal in pes now feels amazing, cant put my finger on why but I had that old PES2 feeling of scoring again...

I just can't get miself to like this game, some issues are just too much for me... maybe the patchers like jenkey will fix some of this crap...
Whats the point in players having stats ( alltho we only have 18 stats for individual players which is way too low.. ) if they don't mean shit??

Look at this speed comparison between Walcott ( Explosive power 90, Speed 97 ), and this slow defender with the number 6 ( Explosive power 68, Speed 70 )....

Walcott is in FULL SPRINT, while the defender is turned around at the start... Walcott running WITHOUT the ball, and the defender instantly turns around and in 0.0000000001seconds reaches Walcott's speed.. this is beyond ridicilous.

In real life... even if the defender would be as fast as Walcott ( alltho he is not, he has almost 30 less speed ffs...and over 20 less explosive power ), before he would turn around and accelerate to that speed, Walcott would be 15 meters ahead of him already at the least..

I still can't get over how players' feet hit the ground in fifa. It's still feels a little too gliding. Agree with you on the polish tho.

EDIT: I think I've misunderstood which defender your talking about. My apologies. I presume its the tall defender with the big head of hair? Can't see the number on his back to tell if its number 6. The defender does seem to accelerate very quickly alright after turning. He doesn't get as fast a walcott, but his acceleration is a bit silly.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the ridiculous dribbling yet. Absolutely fucking awful to pull off coherent tricks, the worst I've ever seen in a PES game, along with this new gimmick: body control, and make no mistake, it is a shitty gimmick. You just aren't going to pull this crap off unless you're either 12 years old and have just finished your third energy drink, or you have absolutely no life outside of gaming and you can practice this nonsense for hours upon hours, and even then, why would you want too? I'd like to see people incorporate this cluster fuck of button bashing into a difficult match when you don't have much time to pass, let alone pull two analogues in all kinds of directions, perfectly, like you're trying to take out somebody in a street fighter game. It's arcadey trash and has nothing to do with football simulation, which this game isn't even close to being anymore. They (KONAMI) seem to have forgotten what made them great.

An absolute game breaker for me and a massive disappointment.

Obviously this isn't my only gripes with the game but it's certainly high on my list of fails.

Im telling you the catch up bug is on steroids this year. I' haven't had any problems finding my defenders out of position on counters because they always find a way to catch up. I use Italy vs Germany or Bayern on the demo and regulary Barzagli catches Ribery in the open field, he simply turns on the turbos and catches him. Keep in mind Ribery is one of the fastest players while Barzagli is a big heavy defender who wouldn't have a snow ball's chance in hell catching Ribery in the open field. Silly it is.

Anyone have a video of the gameplay from the actual game for a console? Any videos im seeing are not endearing me to the game, players look clunky, like rough edges, not very smooth, almost like FIFA 2003/04 where the players looked boxy. Pitches look flat, like a simple green canvas. Lighting seems weak, not much definition. Only played the demo and it was all a bit of a mess to me.

Most of the issues I think are fixable, like the catch up bug.. i think once we get some gameplay patches from jenkey and co.. this pes has quite alot of potential.

Sorry for bothering you again. I just have two questions. I don't have the game yet so i'm wondering if you find it better than pes 13? and was it worth buying? I was pissed off with pes 13 but I like the pes 14 demo. Just don't want to spend the cash if it's a waste...thanks man.

What platform? PC? Because PC has alot of gameplay patches from modders, while as far as I know that is not possible on xbox and ps.

Feck that this is my one big concern If the dribbling is the same as demo then I won't be purchasing this game it just sounds clearly a half hearted game by konami am sick of there excuses I am so getting put off to get pes this year .

Honestly.. after playing the demo for the first time after it was released I feel a bit frustrated and keep thinking.. is this the final version would be? feeling a bit down and nervous at that time waiting for the official release of the ps3 version as i always bought pes first every year followed by fifa after enjoying every inch of each pes's version..

but after playing the demo for quite some time.. at the same time playing fifa demo and pes13.. i realize that konami has taken a new step in creating a different path in the football gaming evolution.. this is the first step for a simulation football experience compared to the previous version and fifa. it is quite a gamble as not every pes fan could accept the 'change'.

konami has successfully gave us excitement with a great flow of emotion and gameplay in theirs previous versions combining simulation and arcade.. which is different to fifa which in my personal view.. improves a lot in 'arcade' type of gameplay plus the interface and the online experience.. i admit that fifa is enjoyable but only as an arcade and recently has successfully includes arcade+simulation with good interface and graphics. since then, fans are eager to wait what would the next version of both game will be? who will win this time etc etc..

what konami did this year, from my personal view is creating a new path in creating a football game which really simulated the real game itself. it will take time for us pes fans to get used to the new concept and gameplay as we are used to the previous style of gameplay for years.. to be fair and to get the feeling of this new simulation play, i stop playing both pes13 and fifa for some time and started fresh on the pes14 demo.. and i feel excited and get the feeling i was controlling a live football game on tv.. ofcourse with still a lot of improvement to be made.. but the idea of a simulation football game is there.. we don't get all the perfect pass, shooting etc while we are on the field.. that what makes we love the game. in life.. nothing is perfect. we as human are exposed to error and mistakes. that is the different of arcade and simulation. the beautiful thing is.. now we have a choice to play either arcade or simulation.. the choice that we didnt have before.. the only reason switching from pes to fifa vice versa just because we are bored of the one that we have been playing previously..

overall, this is a positive move from konami to create a new football gaming experience for the fans even though it is quite a risk taken by them. but it is worth it. and it's a positive move and i'm loving it. maybe what they thought is why compete with fifa? just create a new football genre with a unique football gaming experience for the fans and keep on improving in the future. to me pes14 is the first step in creating a 'real' simulation football.. it is not easy to adapt at the beginning, but as a PES fan.. like the title itself.. i'm ready to be part of the EVOLUTION in SOCCER..

More or less your thoughts are similar to mine, but I don't share the same patience as you.
On one hand we have Fifa aiming to 12year old kids, or people who just want an effortless arcade experience.
On the other PES2014, a more simulated experience, with its steep learning curve, heading to the right direction (?), but saddly an unifinished product (presentation, online, catchup bag, floaty shots, unresponsive players near the ball, poor gameplay graphics, etc).
Don't know, maybe we,Pesfans, are way too spoiled, and have set our standards way to high, but seriously this year's installment is just discouraging.
I just wish 2K got involved with football simulation, since they have the best sport title out there.

Any of you guys know where the jocky button is this year ?.(last year was R2) or where is the option to play online against cpu with your mates on other ps3's ?

Very disapointed so far, no online options laggy online, slow and bibbley bobbley off line, shooting seems tame.

Please let there be patches soon !!!
