Hang on though, these problems have been evident in just about every version of PES that has been released on this generation of tech and no amount of patching has ever fixed them so what makes you think an extra few weeks in development for PES 2014 would have solved them all?

I agree that they have released the game too early because it's clearly an unfinished product but isnt that what Konami do every year?

I am constantly surprised by people who buy PES games year on year yet expect a different result to the one they get every single time. The games are ALWAYS unfinished and ALWAYS need serious patching. I could just about understand the seriously misplaced optimism regarding the Fox Engine before the game was released because it was an unknown quantity but FFS guys things like the problems listed above have been in PES for years now! So why are you surprised when you find them in the latest version?

Why do people still buy this game? It's a serious question. I haven't played 2014 and it seems I am among the lucky ones. The PES we loved is long gone, Konami sold out and it seems their new staff members have the IQ of the players in the game. You should stop being loyal, it will save you nerves and money.

PES 2014 is a simulation of annoyances.

PES 2014, while trying to achieve the perfect simulation aspect of the real-life soccer game, has exaggerated the realism to the point of annoyance.

PES 2014 is a simulation of all the annoyances of the soccer game, not of its beauty.

1/ The response speed of player on the field in real life, with their inertia of body weights and centre of gravity, is much more faster and less clumsy than the one You control in the game. the delay in player response, turn speed and shooting is way too exaggerated.

2/ The simulation aspect of the game must be executed as a impartial canvas for all the players. But in reality, the ball movement, bouncing and trajectories in play and towards the goal has been programmed to change according to a script, favoured towards CPU players, (even the referee system). The magnetism effect is still there.

3/ Exaggerated simulation over-zealousness + Scripting = Frustration. Game became a chores, not an exciting and satisfactory experience any more.

Having played and enjoyed every PES since it's inception I have given up on PES 2014, for now. Although there are many aspects of the new engine I like, overall the gameplay is far too broken to be enjoyable. Stop/start players, attacking and defending and slow menus/loading times are starting to bore me. In short, I'm just not finding the game that enjoyable.

I have moved back to PES 2013, which in comparison feels like the game PES2014 should have been. I will probably return to PES 2014 at some point (if I don't end up selling it) but I can't guarantee my mind will be changed.

Since the updated up to now, I had played a lot of matches.
At the first moment, I feel glad with some amendments, but now I can say these amendments are not enough. In fact, there is no salvation to this game, it's sad but it's the truth.

Year after year, we are hoping a better PES version, since 2008. But now, I can say that it's time to let PES go.

I'm learning to play the another football game and I started to enjoy.

See you folks,

I have a few issues.

1. The Ref. I get nothing. The CPU gets everything. Even fantastic tackles get punished.

2. The Runs. Why are players still stuck in run animations ? The ball is played in to space. I know my player isn't getting it, but I can't break the direction of the run to cover space.

Those 2 IMO are the 2 that are really holding back this game. #2 really shouldn't be here with the new engine, and hopefully #1 gets fixed via the next patch.

I suggest you adjust strategy settings to get the desired results.

What I have noticed is motivation plays a big role in leagues and cups as we move from one match to another. A team of motivated players have much higher chance to beat AI. What's your experience?

yes it matters, and it changes during the match too, it's a pretty cool feature

i'm mostly raging about the unfairness when playing the IA... the ref, the rebounds, the still-not-fully-fixed cursor-change-lag/fail

i enjoy this pes a lot when playing against humans (except for the goalkeepers), but when facing the IA it often gets frustrating

PES 2014 is the WORST football game I have EVER played

why oh why oh why oh why did I waste my money on this game? the last game I had in the series was PES 2011 - I don't buy each game every year, because there is so little difference between them, I leave it a few years between purchases in the hope there'd be quite a jump forward from the last time I bought the game - alas, there is so much wrong with 2014 I've gone back to 2011 and will be purchasing FIFA from now on... there is so much wrong with this game, I would need HOURS to write it all up... from little things like most of the avatars look NOTHING like there human counterparts, to the pathetic 5 minute load times and jerky graphics... like I said, THE WORST FOOTBALL GAME EVER, and I'm including 'Kick Off' and 'Player Manager' on the Amiga in that! I won't waste my money on this series anymore, I'll be buying the next Fifa game and won't be looking back. Konami, you are a waste of space and have taken a 20 year step back with this game... rant over :realmad:
