Is there less lag when playing online? I'm not sure if playing via a next gen console would make any difference to the EA servers.
The servers were fucking terrible for the first 3 weeks, could hardly find a game or would be booted for no reason. Since they patched it on Friday, it's been smooth as fuck. When actually in game, I've not experienced lag.

I did have some games in FIFA 14 for X360 that would lag (freeze, and then speed up to catch up to real time), but not had it at all on Xbone. Quality game!

Dear Next-Genners,

I keep reading the question of why is the NG version of FIFA only 9gb. Most games are 30+. Is it because the game is so deleted of extra modules, such as tournament mode?

The only mode I've noticed missing is tournament mode though I only really play online, quick match or career so probably wouldn't notice anyway.

Been playing Be a Pro on FIFA 14 (PS4) and had SIX 0-0 scorelines in a row yesterday. Lucky if I had about 3 half decent chances throughout all of those games and there must have been about 45 offsides for my player and others over those 6 games.

I've not been playing it long so my player isnt great and I'm playing in a very poor Rangers team in the SPL but seriously, the back 4 of every team I play is so well drilled it's ridiculous and I'm only playing on Professional!

Still really enjoying FIFA on PS4 and I love a challenge but playing 6 no score bores in a row is bound to make even the most die hard player a bit fed up. Anyone else had this?

I played against some chap the other day, he literally did a dinked ball every other pass. And I'm not talking your standard hoof over the top, I'm talking dinked passes to teammates standing 5 yards away, where a normal ground pass would've made much more sense. Very odd indeed. I beat him comfortably though.

Be a Pro Update

I've adjusted a bit better to playing FIFA on PS4 now and have been banging the goals in with my pro. Still think the long sequence of no score bores was a bit weird but I've put that behind me now.

Getting picked for the national team still seems a bit random mind you, I scored one and set up the other in a 2-1 win over Mexico (friendly) on my debut for Scotland and have been left out of the squad ever since. That weird thing with being in the team for one game of a double header then completely left out of the other one is also still there. I was really hoping that would be gone and you'd be in or out of the team on merit.

Also, I was top scorer in the SPL and second top assister but POTY still went to Niall McGinn of Aberdeen and not a soul even had a sniff at me during the transfer window. A bit weird but not total nonsense so I wasn't too bothered. Well, kinda bothered. Just a wee bit maybe. ;)

Finished second behind Celtic in the league and got papped out of the Champs League at the qualifying stage after being drawn against AC Milan! They won 1 - 0 at Ibrox and despite being under the cosh at the San Siro managed to score on the break via Ballotelli (hate that guy) to put the tie beyond reach. They were just too strong for us.
I petulantly put in a transfer request because I felt my talented young star belonged in the Champions League (and one season of the SPL is enough for most people) but Mr. McCoist turned it down and as I said no one seemed interested in me anyway. Meanwhile, possibly anticipating my departure, Mr. McCoist has bought about 6 strikers in the transfer window, none of which are any good. The money spent on those idiots lumped together could have bought me a half decent partner up front but I guess Ally believes in quantity rather than quality.

So it's the SPL again for me until January at least and into the Europa League with the first group game away to Norwich. Probably more our level at the moment anyway.

Anyone up for a game at some time today? (PS3) I've just started playing Seasons and smashing through the leagues, but the standard in, like, Division 7 is so shite that it's not even fun.

I played regular seasons matches last night for the first time in ages and actually enjoyed it, would you believe?
After playing quite a bit of UT, it's helped me improve my game, but it had gotten to the point where I was just getting too frustrated with it, and 90% of the people you come up against in UT are cunts.

I dunno... maybe it's because I was winning every game. I might have a different opinion when I start losing again.

Niang for Montpellier is a bit of a beast, can't see why you let him go Sweey. Same with Diouf for Hannover. Utd could do with a player of his quality now!

He only scored one goal in 33ish matches and managed about two assists. I did not agree with Allegri's decision to play him on right wing and the longer he stayed, the worse he played. I hope the club and Seedorf show more sense in the summer - keep him and use him in the right way. I'm convinced he can do a job for us.

I also stand by my "He Niang'd it" saying when someone hits the post, in reference to him doing just that against Barcelona last season.

You judge a players ability going off FIFA without seeing him play?

Because FIFA has been out for ages now you will piss it till about D3 on seasons.
Last year I started paying seasons after it was out for a while and didn't drop points till I got to D3. This year because I started the mode when it came out there was still good players in the lower leagues.

This is true. In the past, I've delved into FUT and Seasons a few months after release and find myself shooting up to D2 with hardly any losses or draws. This time round, I started on the first weekend and, although I hadn't been relegated, getting promoted was a lot tougher. I've not played it in a few months, so I don't remember where I currently am.

Offsides seem a bit bollocks in this WC2014 demo.... moreso than in Fifa14 I've had a couple of decisions go against me that were definitely onside. Lobbed through balls still too easy. But passing on the whole feels a wee bit different, and game feels weightier.
