PES 2021 - Edit Mode Ideas / Suggestions thread.

Thought it might be useful to collate some sort of list of ideas and suggestions to improve edit mode given as I'm sure at this moment there is a small team beavering away on early code for PES2021

Player Editing:

1: Allow base copy of hair and face separately. (Appreciate this might just be for "unlicenced" players.

2: Allow for "custom" colouring of skin - even if it's just a spectrum of a few "skin" tones, because it's sometimes difficult in PES to make non-white players' tones look realistic.

3: More facial hair styles, including 3D facial hair.

Kit Editing:

4: More number font styles, including outlines.

5: Ability to save custom colours to a team, so we don't have to try and recreate it.

6: Kit base copy - to be able to copy the "in game" edited kit, to another slot / team. Especially useful if adding an alternate home kit for example.

Team Editing:

7: Location editing, to be able to set the team's locale, language of the banners, stadium background, crowd chant / flag style (English, European, Latin America, Asia etc)

8: Custom images for banners.

Stadium Editing:

9: Basic configuration of stands (Ideally something like 2013 had)

10: Turn catch fencing on / off behind goals.

11: Turn fencing off around perimeter.

Competition Editing:

12: Be able to choose the font and number style for all teams in the league (change colours in individual team edits)

Adding more fake leagues/teams, such as an African league, is a must ;)
Adding/changing chants would be very good.

More spaces for importing images is also important

Stadium editing needs to come back too, I miss it so much :)

Also, maybe it would be fun to have the old Boot editor, from the times of the ps2?
(this if you don't remember:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDy_3ChwSN4)

good list

Yeah I do remember the boot editor. 5,5,5,5,5 made the Nike Mercurial Vapours if I recall.

With Konami having the FIFPRO licence (I think they do), can't they add the MLS / J-League etc in the same way they did the Premier League? Unless their individual agreements are as strict as Germany's.

Be able to create a national team. Have it where there must be atleast 32 players from a country to be able to create it.

Fully agree with addition of an African League for editing, playing ML and then playing Copa Libertadores with Ajax Cape Town not quite as realistic.

Perhaps even 2 slots :)

Importing form PES 2017

It would be really amazing if you could import teams from a PES 2017 export onto PES 2018..

Perhaps such a feature already exists/existed?

Also it would be cool if you can add to a player's Bio, things like previous clubs etc.

Cant wait

That would be even cooler if you could add a "relationship with previous club" option in the player's settings - so that Ronaldo would be cheered at Old Trafford, but Rooney would get booed at Goodison.

Could even put a commentary line or two in there like "Well he was always going to get this sort of reception today, but he'll have to rise above it". Or "The fans still have fond memories for him, but today he will be looking to hurt them"

PES also needs some more weather options: snow (it had snow in the past but I don't think it has now) and windy (that would affect the trajectory of the ball).

They said last year that they didn't have snow in 17 because it wasn't at a level they were happy with, therefore I would expect that there's a good chance it will return in 18.

Added another idea: I've just been updating the Premier League with the new kits, and as they're going to be using a new number and name font, that's also meant editing each one individually - which is a complete ball ache.

I'll be honest, the only thing that would really change my PES life is being able to import players from previous games. I hate it when Konami create some great faces and then because the player moves teams or isn't in the National squad we lose them. I wish we could import faces from previous editions, or even better, import our own ones like we can with the kits and emblems. To me, there is nothing that pulls me out of the realism of the game more than the generic faces celebrating a goal with their real life counterparts.

Other than that, maybe a few additions to weather types and kick off times etc, more in line with FIFA. And make the menus etc a bit more 21st century.

I already posted here once, but now I'll post again, I want to do a more complete list of what I would like to see in PES:

Gameplay:

I would like that in PES 2018 we could actually get a penalty. And I would also like if hand on the ball was considered a foul, like in real life. Yesterday I was playing, the opposite team defender putted his hand inside the ball (yeah, that's PES physics ) and it should be a penalty for me, but nothing happened.

Maybe a better referee, I see a lot of bad decisions happens. We need the video assistant referee on PES .

Also, a more challenging difficulty, a level above superstar. It's already becoming easy for me to play on superstar. That's probably the reason why everybody prefers to play online rather than Master League - the CPU sucks sometimes.

Teams and Leagues:

If PES can't get Bundesliga, there's still plenty of other leagues to get, even if the names were fake (but I think they can get real players if they are members of FIFPro, am I right?). Just to name a few:

-2nd Portuguese league (if England, Spain, Italy and even France have their 2nd league, why not Portugal?)

-Leagues from Scotland, Russia, Turkey, Belgium, etc. would all be welcome on the game.

-Maybe a North American league, either fake or from Mexico/USA.

-An African league. That's what is missing in the game for years. I would prefer if it was a fake league so I can edit it with teams from all over Africa, but a South African league would also be a good idea. Or even better, add a licensed CAF Champions league, like the AFC Champions league.

-Some Asian leagues? We only have a fake one, plus a bunch of teams from AFC champions league. Why don't get a Chinese, Australian or Japanese league? Cmon Konami, you're from Japan, give us a licensed J.League.

-A league from Oceania, together with the African and North American league I mentioned above, would allow us to have a realistic Club World Cup in the Master League. But I doubt anyone would be interested on New Zealand or Tahiti league besides me (anyone would like to play on an oceania league besides me?)

-Plus, I think we could get a fake league with a second league, with promotion/relegation system, at least for Europe.

OR, even better (but almost impossible to happen, I guess), adding an option to create our own leagues with some simple parameters, such as location, no. of teams, etc.

Stadiums and weather:

- I think we need more stadiums. Maybe the return of the portuguese stadiums such as Estádio da Luz, Estádio José Alvalade and Estádio do Dragão. Or even some stadiums from the teams that are licensed, such as stadiums from Serie A, Ligue 1 or Eredivise.

- Some more generic stadiums wouldn't also be a bad idea, small teams need more realistic stadiums, and many people enjoy playing with smaller teams on Master League.

- The return of the stadium creator would also be great, but I don't know if it's possible. If that isn't possible, please add at least some more colours to the stadium editing option, for god's sake.

- Snow weather is a must, it would be good to play on a champions league match in Russia, for example, with snowy weather.

- Windy weather, that would drastically affect the trajectory of the ball wouldn't also be a bad idea, it would be fun to play ;)

Other things:

- No more limit on image editing, or at least, increased limit. From PES 2016 to PES 2017 it was already a big step on this one since they added the option to import kits in smaller size, but I still think this limit could be increased. If you only want a single OF the current limit is fine, but for those like me who have 2 completely different OF's it's a struggle and I have to remove 3rd kits, some GK kits from lower leagues, etc.

- Option to add custom chants to our teams? I remember this from Ps3, I loved and I was very disappointed there's no way to do it on Ps4. If that isn't possible because of Ps4 limits, at least add some basic options like on ps2, to choose the style of the crowd.

- Changing location of a team, so we don't create a german team, for example, and have the banners of the supporters in the stadium in spanish.

- More team names for the commentators (I don't remember what is that option called in game). If you can add names of cities, do it for more countries: Portugal, USA, Mexico, etc.

- More fonts for the kit numbers and names, or the option to add our own (like on PC, I think).

- More hair and facial hair options.

- More commentator player names. Seriously, I hate to create a player and then search for the commentators name and don't have really simple names like "John" or "Nick".

- More balls, having just one from each manufacturer is ridiculous. Is it so hard to make a ball?

- Ability to import PES 2017 bins into PES 2018, if the database is compatible of course.

- Ability to ''blank'' or edit/update the player minifaces, so we don't have black players with white faces on the game plan, for example.

- Ability to edit licensed teams kits and logos.

I think PES has what it's needed to be the best football game in the world, but they need to put some more effort and dedication to the game instead of selling the same game every year with just a few updates and tweaks that aren't worth the price. Konami forgets that without the community doing patches/OF's, kits and players every year they won't even exist with so few licenses they have. So they owe us something. At least, more effort and dedication.

If PES 2018 has only a part of the things I posted here, it would be a reason to buy it. But what it seems is that I'll stick to PES 2017, if the final version of PES 2018 doesn't have anything new other than updated Barcelona players' faces and tattoos.

If I remember anything else, I'll update this list.

Cheers :)

In my opinion they should aim for fun again in Edit mode, just like the PS2 era, with things like:

1. More crazy hairstyles, like dog heads, pumpkin head, helmets, hats, caps and other things like that.

2. Bring glasses and sunglasses back.

3. Let us use any color again on the wristbands.

4. Let us choose gloves not just in winter.

5. Boots editor.

6. Stadium editor.

7. More options for kit editor, mainly for the shorts and socks.

8. Bring back fun kits, like the Ostrich, Dinosaur and Penguin suits.

9. Let us choose any color for the skin, because why not ? If my player can have yellow, green or blue hair, why not the skin as well, it's just a game, it shouldn't be treated with all that seriousness.

10. Body tattoos for edited players as well.

Those things would make the game insanely fun for me, because the main reason I still play these games is to create teams and players based on characters from other media and it's already fun the way it is, but with the stuff I mentioned it would be just perfect.

Oh boy so many memories of that stuff in PES 2011, I guess they are trying to leave the game more realistic and serious but truth is, the game had better sales when we had those crazy stuff  they should bring that back.

That's exactly what I think, the franchise had better sales when they tried to make their own thing and not just compete with FIFA, I mean, getting rid of the fun stuff is not what will make your game sell more, but getting more licenses and having a better gameplay and diversity of modes and options. Sometimes it just seems they just get rid of cool thing instead of building upon it =/

So, for the PC Version there is anyway much possibilities, as a PS4 player there would be many things that are important.

First thing is - MANY more space for editing, much more leagues, maybe multilevel (PEU, PEU2), setting limits for importing images, creating players and so on, higher.

More options in team editing - what region is the team, setting a set of kits for the crowd, importing banners and so on. Doesn't make fun when i create two african national teams and the whole crowd is white when i play with them.

Importing not only kits but also fonts for numbers and names, importing faces, boots, gloves and maybe even stadiums.

For me PES is the better game in relation to FIFA. FIFA has licenses and PES will never be able to compete with that, so my suggestion would be, care less about licenses and more about giving the community freedom to edit stuff.

I would even wish more possibilities in competition editing, like a playoff system or something like that.

Player editing is nearly perfect but also here many things could be better. I also totally agree with LucasLaska

I don't expect the same possibilities like on PC, that can't be possible (when i think about for example, inserting chants, anthems and so on) but there should be much more space to work for as editor.

best suggestion i've ever seen in this forum.
that's the reason why i'm still playing PES 2011 & 2008.

the BEST things from PES were:
Ostrich,
Dinosaur,
Penguin suits;
pumpkin head,
dogs head,
roman helmet etc.

i'm neither the first nor the last person to say Konami is dumb keep removing good features and downgrading the series. besides removing the fun features, bi-colour numbers in edit mode being removed, changable shorts & socks being removed...

does Konami really think David Beckham edition can sell better than an Ostrich-Dinosaur edition?

Updated original post for PES 21. Seems a lot of the original suggestions in this thread are still relevant today.
