How do live updates work?

Can anyone explain how it works?

If I put both checkboxes on updating clubs and national teams, then Konami adds players to the teams, but also removes some. And with the advent of DLC, it can completely remove all free agents, with the exception of fake players from fake leagues.

If so, then it makes sense to create copies of these players.

I bought the game on disk, downloaded the DLC and updated it and I had no free agents, then I had to delete the game, put it back in the settings, create a copy of the data and during the update there were a lot of players in free agents, which I could then move to them teams including Thun, Wigan, etc.

But what happens if I apply a live update and do not check the box, then the teams are not updated and the players are immediately added to the free players? And then you need to manually drag them into commands? How it works?

How not to lose free agents?
How do I save players? Maybe someone has a list of players who are removed by KONAMI. And I'm afraid that it will be like pes 2016 when they removed a lot of free players from the game.

I am really interested in this, if you made it work. A disc version will arrive at my place sooner or latter.

What my strategy will be:
1)Put the disc in console
2)Switch off the internet from router
3) Install the game
4) Go inside offline mode and create an edit data, save inside edit mode.
5)exit
6)boot up internet
7)let game update and then apply Live Update
8} check if success.

I hope it will work.

I did the first step, recieved my copy yesterday, disc-offline installation and it worked. Players like V. KOMPANY, ADURIZ, etc are on my game, after i did the update+live update.

Now the next step will be, once the digital version has a discount and will cost below 10$, i will buy a digital copy also, cause i want to keep the disc for collectors item.

I assume the method will be:

either A
1) Back-up EDIT data and SystemSettings files in a USB.

2) Delete game from PS4??????

3) Buy , download and install PES 2021

4) Open game create EDIT & SYSTEM files

5) Exit game, import from USB and replace the current PS4 data files with my old, backed-up once

6) open game and enjoy.

or B
Maybe it is more simple? Like, i buy the digital version, download it and run the game without disc. This solution sounds more convinient, but i am afraid, solution A may be the way to go.

All you need to do is delete game and leave System and Edit saves. When you reinstall game, you are ready to go.

When I moved to PS5, I copied my System and Edit files over. Then installed the game. Was back at same point except had to install the images for the OF.

I always keep a copy of each of those files on each Data Pack

Yo Buck, PES 2021 has discount in PSstore EU, so my time has come. In this month salary payment I am buying it digitally. I have already the disc version as I told before.

So as we said, I delete only the game and leave system and edit files untouched.
But about the images., in PS4 I must also reimport them? Cause I can't figure out where they are stored when they're imported in game, I mean as an exterior file.

Tbh I am pretty sure they are not stored in Edit.BIN but I have some hopes that they are linked in system settings.dat.

Live updates. I still don't understand how it works. If I apply live updates for teams and national teams (check the boxes), are the players removed or not? For example, instead of fake leagues, I made other leagues and added real players from free agents there, I would like to keep the players, because they have faces and pictures, and if I apply updates, will it remove the players from the fake teams? Now DLC 5 is out. 3 Chilean teams have become fake, real players have been moved to free agents, and if we apply a full update, will it remove real players?

It works like, Updates any OFFICIAL team and National Team. Any player you have added to official teams, goes to free agent.

Fake clubs from PEU/PLA/PAS and the initial Others Latin America teams stay unaffected, meaning any player you have added to them, stays there for ever.

FAke clubs that are placeholders like relegated teams or leftovers of previously teams, are hardcoded to LIVEUPDATE, basically they are a big living LIVE UPDATE, so if we say they have 22 players, they will always revert to 22 players no matter players you add. They will loose players only if you move one of their players to a fake team from the previous said leagues PEU/PAS/PLA.

As for removed players, usually 99% of time, as long as you had the player in your database, he just goes to free agents, he is not deleted. Players are delete only when there is an ANSU FATI occasion, which is very rare.

What about the AFC teams? Are they reseted when you apply the LiveUpdate?
