I just bought this game and I'm in need of a team.

at the moment, I'm thinking of playing Stoke. Is playing them challenging?

I started a game the other day running several european leagues, I started off at Ajax, during my first year, I won the league and cup, and decided I'd look for a job elsewhere, Marseille was the club that offered me a job.

I took the job, and they we're 16th after sacking Sven Goran Errikson, I bought some old players on a free transfer, for example, Lillian Thuram, Olivier Dacourt and Jerzy Dudek. In the league, I've only lost one game while in charge and are currently top going into the last game of the season, only by a point, with a game at home against PSG to come.

Will provide screenshots when the season is finished.

just started as Southampton. After 4 games, I'm on 8th with 2wins and 2 losses

and, I just signed with a feeder club. How do I send my player to the club?

Select the player then go to move to affalitae or something like that and you can send them out, it's where you sign new contracts for the players and stuff.

I'm currently Southampton in a network game I'm playing. Into the second season now, but still playing Championship football.

Had a good start, trading places with my mate (Derby) at the top of the league but gradually fell away but looked to have cemented a play-off spot. However, an incredibly bad run saw me fall out and finish 8th. Whereas my mate won promotion through the play-offs.

My best purchases the first season were Halford from Colchester and Keogh from Scunthorpe, funded by the sales of Dyer, Jones and Ostlund.

I tell you what it pays to get promoted the first season, as I'm really struggling on the wage front. My players are on Premiership wages in the Champers.

Just managed to secure Arsenal as my parent club (choice of Chelsea or Arsenal) so hopefully I can bring in some decent youngsters (like bringing Walcott back if they're not gonna play him and give me my appearance money!!)

Last time I started with Southampton I went up and ended up 7th in the league by the end of December, I ended up quiting when the board gave me £15 million in January mind, not bloody challenging enough.

I'm gonna start with Leeds when I get the game back.

Paul B, I didn't have the wage problem when I played Stoke in the old FM 2006 ( I got promoted and finished 10th). Who's your GK now? And, do you know who's the captain in real-life?

Van Dan, did the board gave you more money for availability of wages to players?

You should be Stoke. :cool: However, the biggest challenge is Plymouth, because they are complete and utter gash. :w00t

Just started a game with Atletico, Torres is a fucking beast! The money though... operating at £11m in the red. And that's with me being £120k UNDER the wage budget! Coming upto the transfer window, not too confident about keeping Torres. :no:

Not bought many first-teamers in, got a few young guns in and stuck them in my C team. All except Cardenas (swaps between the two though really), Digard (On-loan to Benfica) and Vanden Borre. Other than that, Millan for £40k, Sunny £120k, Vecchio £10k, Jose Luis Silva £20k and Bertolina £50k. Also, got Carlos Magno for £10k, don't know how good he is but Marcelinho, MC bought before I arrived, needed a fellow Brazilian to help him settle in and Magno was great last game.

Meecrob, some good relatively cheap DM's are the Nigerian Sunny from Ejido and Didier Digard. For CB, try Sidnei and Michel Schmoller from Brazillian clubs too. Daniel de las Heras is about 15, and a great prospect on my Atletcio game.

Well, what can I say - it just...works. Load up game, give person the IP address it shows...get person to punch it in. Play.

I never could play FM 2005 online though for a reason I never found out.

Perhaps it something to do with his/your firewall settings?

I still have Kelvin Davis as number one choice but now have Kenneth Stenild in reserve. Also got Hedman on a free as an absolute backup.

Strangely, Brian McBride always seems to have a storming first season in the Championship. :mellow: Other than that some decent cheap players are Doudin, Cieluch, Haynes, Kisliy, Bertolina, Millan (if you get him early) and Sultan Cem (likewise with Millan). If you got a good amount of spare cash, you could go for Bojan, Higuain, Okaka or Daniel Sturridge. Although, I don't know if many of them will come.

Loan-wise, try Anichebe or Carlos Vela.
