Some players actually have higher rating than their default when playing in different positions. Perhaps that's what you encountered.

I don't think it matters, because I have the FIFA World Cup Commentery patch installed over the pesedit patch and it's fine. If you want to be sure, read the readme.txt files for both patches, they should tell you which .img files the patch is going to edit. But most likely it shouldn't matter.

Install the PESedit patch, then the 1.08 patch. Note that you may need to manually re-link the patched .exe file with kitserver again.
