I use the default setting ( facing the goal from behind your player / 3rd person view ). It took a while to get used to but once you do it is beneficial in my opinion.

Alternativly you could just set it to all human teams and play it that way, then if no one is around and you wish to continue it you could move the human player to computer. It is the same thing just done that other way round.
