The ref on pes2008 is a damn lunatic, some of the decisions I've seen made are laughable, damn laughable. Offside tends to be the worst, with through balls hitting defenders and then setting up a striker, but it is still offside even though the ball hit the opposition...wtf

I just tried it and it worked most of the time, but like you said sometimes they went down the middle. Another good idea is to press pause just before they kick the ball, this way you can guess by there technique which way they are going to put it.

Oh it's very frustrating too right, but after a good number of games, you will master it.

Sorry mate, there is absolutely nothing you can do, because in league mode you cant regulate there condition, its annoying as hell isn't it when someone as prolific as kaka has the gray arrow like 3 games in a row, and performs badly because of the arrow with heavy touches and slow...

Sounds like you have to start again then, I'm guessing because you unlocked them after your master league win they wont appear. They should be there if you start a new one.
